So here's my honest take on eDrawings. I've tested a bunch of CAD viewer apps and this one's pretty good. The file support is solid and the sharing features work well. It's not the prettiest app but it gets the job done. The downside is it can be a bit finicky to use, especially if you're not familiar with CAD software. But if you need to view and collaborate on designs, it's worth a look.

Pros

  • Tons of CAD file support, can open parts, assemblies and drawings
  • Sharing and emailing designs is really easy
  • Intuitive gestures for panning, zooming, rotating models
  • Free to download, don't have to pay to use the core features

Cons

  • Interface is a bit clunky and not really user-friendly
  • Can be slow to load larger CAD files
  • Requires some CAD knowledge to get the most out of it

Description

Been using eDrawings for a couple months now. It’s basically a CAD viewer app that lets you open and share 2D and 3D design files. Pretty solid app if you’re into engineering and product design stuff.

Here’s what you do: you can load up CAD files, zoom and pan around, see different views. There’s also the ability to send files via email, which is pretty cool. And there are drawing sheets and exploded views – took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re an engineer or designer, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
