All of the reviews correctly say how sorry the app is... The app has promised for the last 2 years to enable adding a cash card to your balance. This has yet to happen. Customer service is non-existent. The unidentified phone number reports that the answering machine is Full. There is no way that I would ever consider adding a credit card for auto payment until the multiple customer service issues surrounding the app are resolved.Don't do it!!. Is anyone home??? Crickets... crickets.

Can't see past orders aside from the date and that there was an order, what happens if you need to show an employee a receipt? Store locations are hard to look up and glitchy, different locations don't have certain menu items despite being able to order them in store (No hot tea? Really?). Customization is so limited, the whole point of being able to order ahead is kind of lost when the app doesn't function well. I'd be happy to use it if an update foxes these problems.

Possibility the worst food ordering app ever. They only offer a few of their bagel flavors online, you can't customize your oder (no "light cream cheese"), they require too much personal information to register, and you can't just pay without buying a gift card. That means that you can't opt out of them keeping your credit card information, and they are pushing you to prepay by buying a large value card to avoid the hassle of having to buy a new card even time you want a bagel.

I use the app regularly and i find it very useful. There is only one thing i find aggravating. I have so many points but while the app will "redeem" them and take them away, I never get the item redeemed. I'm always charged tlfor it regardless. What's the point of the redeem system in app if it doesn't work?? I want to officially complain but the app doesn't seem to have a place to voice complaints or problems to.

Forces you to sign up and save your card info to order, misleading prices and discounts. The app "applies cupon at checkout" only to send you to a screen showing the total price with no itemized costs so you really don't know what they took off with the coupon, only the total. Some points only redeemable in store? Why? Is it not clear that by using the app that I am looking for convenience? Can't pull card info from Google either so get up and go get your wallet 🙄

Their ordering process makes no sense. Customization options for sandwiches are limited to how many eggs you want. You cant just order a bagel, it has to come with chips. Very strange and deliberate. My advice to the devs, open any other fast food app. Take note how theres different sections for drinks, and the types of food. See how you can customize your order. Youre not reinventing the wheel here

App charges extra at checkout with no explanation of the charge (tip? convenience fee?). App also shows fewer bagel options and signature items than what the location has to offer. For the sake of convenience, this app is not very convenient at all. I'd rather walk in and order from their full menu, but then I don't get the mobile order's free coffee. But frankly, the free coffee isn't worth it if you don't show me all options available and blindly charge me extra $.50 at mobile checkout.

It allows you to add money to your "Shmear Society" account, but then you can't actually ORDER anything. I wanted to save time by adding the app and putting in my order to order a baker's dozen bagels. DON'T DO IT... because, as far as I can see, you can't ORDER from the thing, just browse their menu!! Absolutely useless. Just hit uninstall. POSITIVELY WORTHLESS. There needs to be a negative stars rating. This gets -100.

Useless. Placed an order on the app over an hour before I arrived, but when I got there they were completely out of the bagels I wanted. The location had no way of contacting me to tell me this information, nor is it displayed on the app when an item is out of stock, so I ended making a trip only to end up getting a refund and to be filled with disappointment. Only way to find out availability is to call ahead, but at that point why even have the app at all if you can just order over the phone?

Urgh, would give 1 star but the manager saved the day. What happens to the order history? I searched and searched but can find it. Why? Because I ordered and paid in advanced, but when I went there to pick up, they did not have my order. The salesperson wanted me to show my record that I paid for the order but it was NOWHERE to be found in the app. Was told to call the 800 for refunds (I don't want refunds). If you want customers to order and pay in the app, please add that feature.

Not quite as bad as many make it out to be. Yes, it froze when I tried to process my payment after editing my order. I simply completely closed out the app and started again. I still had my freebies because it was never processed. It was not very convenient, but it worked. Also, it does need more options like cream and sugar for the coffee. There is room for improvement but the perks are nice. (Also, get rid of the paper straws you put in plastic cups. Senseless, and no one likes them.)

After being a patron for 20 yrs, I installed the app a few months ago to collect points. The app kept crashing Recently, I used it to place an order online. The app was flakey again. We arrived to the store (driving 15 mins each way) and the store was closed!! My kid was starving, and due to COVID, there were minimal other options. After several email exchanges, they gave less than $5 credit for all the inconvenience. The store said the time issue has been known for weeks, but not fixed!

Food and people (5) are great, app is good (4) WHEN it works; worthless and frustrating when it doesn't (0). Half the time you try to order on the app or log in to the app or website you get "Oops something went wrong", if it doesn't work, don't even bother trying to fix it, changing passwords, searching help etc. There is no way out; just order in person, hopefully they can look up all the credit you have stored in your account. Another day, the app might work again (seems completely random).

As many others have noted, you cannot select the bagels you want in the Baker's Dozen - only their preselected flavors. You also cannot order 2 diff flavors of schmears. There is an option to 'edit' time of pickup - but it doesn't work and simply defaults to asap. Not much use for this app as it does not cater to customers needs as far as ordering - just shows accumulated points & coupons. So what's the point?!

What a pain. This app can't do the most basic of functions: allow me to order the bagels I want! If I don't want their preset box, I have to go into the store. The inbox is all messed up - the messages overlap one another. If I want to delete the messages, I have to hold my phone at the right angle to be able to see the word "delete" since the text is the same color as the text box it's in & I had to Google a tech forum to find that. Can't pay exact amt; have to add $ to app then pay. Dumb.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS APP!!! The app has multiple issues, including, frequently, not working. It does not recognize an Einstein's Gift Card (their own card). You can't modify your order (no sauce, ect.). It does not let you order ahead of time- cannot set up order the day before. The bagels are good. Staff at store is excellent. App is awful.

It would be excellent if you were able to place an order for a specific time instead of just ASAP, and being able to order customizations (like extra meat for an upcharge) would also be helpful. But mostly, I was bummed I could not use my birthday reward on the app when ordering pick up ahead of time. Other than that, decent app.

Very convenient for ordering ahead of time and you can save some money with rewards points, until you lose the reward points and not get the free items that you earned. And what a waste of time and money to order pickup online and not have the particular order available when you arrive to pickup your order. And can't get a refund in person but have to request a refund through the mobile app, very frustrating.

It's a good app to pay with, but I never use it for anything else because there is no customization. Their app states "To ensure speedy service, customization in the app is limited. Full customization is offered in the bakery." This makes no sense. If one orders ahead, the store has time to fill the order and it's ready when one arrives. Otherwise if ordered in the drive thru it takes longer. Einstein's has it backward. Every other food app allows customization because it is faster.

Guys, come on. You can't review order details? That's my biggest issue. The EBB I went to couldn't find my order and kept suggesting I had ordered from the wrong store (it turned out it was there, sitting out of the way, but no one remembered the order so it took a little while to find). Because I could not review order details, I couldn't confirm location. Also, you have to add funds instead of just doing instant transactions? Bleh.
