This is a perfect app - with the only exception of being inconsistent with Office 365 exchange server links in login/authentication. My work uses it, and every couple of weeks or so I get issues with the link between the two. It asks if I want to login with OAUTH. I do, in the app, I have to enter password again. It resolves it, for about two weeks. The thing is - other clients never have this issue. I log in once and it goes through. But not this app. Other than that, it's a perfect app! 4stars
Reviews for Email Aqua Mail - Fast, Secure
← Back to Email Aqua Mail - Fast, SecureGreat email app. But $30 a YEAR is just too expensive, especially when I'm already paying for Office 365. And it's not like there are enough regular improvements or new features with this app that make a yearly subscription justifiable in the first place. And that's a shame. I tweaked a ton of settings; it's looking lean and mean. No wasted space...compact & info-dense. Very well-thought out app. If this was a one-time purchase or $12 a year, I'd jump.
very nice app. works flawlessly. however your need to be paid for the app is making me look for a replacement. I didnt mind the little ads but some of these 30 second full screen ads are atrocious. thanks for the year inhad but I'm moving on to another free low ad app. UPDATE 12-19-19. I have made the move to another app. You constant nagging for me to buy your pro edition was the final straw. Great app. I will never pay for something I can get for free.
The ads! So intrusive! I use this app for my commercial/junk account. I like that i can read enough about an email to swipe away the notification. But, when i go into an email, _all_ the notifications go away. And when i close that first email to go to my inbox, i have to wait five seconds for the ad video to play before i can see what other emails may be worth looking at. I sometimes lose my train of thought, and my productivity stumbles. Not a good fit for someone who tends toward ADHD.
The version without advertisements is till one of the best email programs available, but now available as an expensive subscription instead of a flat purchase. So, four stars instead of five. When i changed phones, it briefly reverted to the advertisement version, and i found the adds very intrusive, but now it's back to normal. In-app subscriptions are a good revenue model, but they are also the blight of Android apps.
Used this app for years, its always just worked which is all I want from an email app. But it doesn't offer enough to justify $30 a year. Not to just check my email. I bought pro years ago and now I read about how bad the ads have gotten and going to a subscription model, that's just greed. The reasons are disingenuous as well, you could easily issue the license in app without being a subscription, tons of other apps do it, and if piracy is the problem price gouging will make it worse.
Good for reading emails with excellent built-in help. I use it for a single Yahoo email account that I generally don't use for sending emails, but for receiving only from retailers like CVS, Macy's, etc. I might send from here but only if it's short. I just don't like typing long emails on a phone. Small ads are not obtrusive but occasionally a full-screen ad pops up like in games. 1 star removed for that. So for a free email viewer it's very good but $30/year for Pro version just isn't for me.
I have been a long-time user of the Aqua Mail pro. One of the features I loved most was being able to schedule when email was delivered. However, for the past year, this feature has not worked. I can't even have it get email without me refreshing it myself. Now I see you're going to subscription. Might of stayed if it was 9.99 a year. But that's only for the first year, after that it's 29.99 a year. Sadly, no. I will not be subscribing.
EDIT: Hotmail suddenly is not working on my outgoing email settings. I can sync inbox etc but sending an email I can't get it to work. Hopefully they get back to me soon! I need the ability to send emails!! Setup my email in a flash. The user customization is astounding. You can setup this app to do ANYTHING you want within reason. Its PERFECT.
I like Aquamail, and purchased the pro version for what I thought was a lifetime app. Unfortunately, they now are going to discontinue the pro version and bump everyone back to what is essentially the free version, unless you give them $30 every year. They are apparently even going to put a non-removable advertising signature line back in each email you send. I feel like I've been taken for a sucker. No thanks, there's too many good free or almost-free email programs out there.
Aquamail is a unique app that offers a number of excellent features. Unfortunately, it also presents recurring headaches concerning OAUTH and account stability. For some, not all, of my Microsoft 365 accounts, my login will fail and I will then be required to upgrade OAUTH. Then, a few weeks later, login will fail on those accounts, requiring that I delete them and then set them up again. A few weeks after that, the process will start over. Very very frustrating.
I actually like the application, but since I have the free version, there are ads. At first it was ok, BUT then they started running video ads, which chews up bandwidth, but it's even worse, because they have audio which means it disturbs others near me. Then it's hard to stop it. You never know when it will do it either (and it's always at the worst time). That was too much, and I'm uninstalling it. Moving to Blue Mail -no ads.
Aquamail will switch to a yearly subscription model in 09/2023. Look, I get it, to maintain development of such an app they need more revenue than they can get from the "pay one time for pro version, keep forever" payment model. -- BUT: I've paid €3.98 for the pro version unlock, for the subscription they want me to pay €29.99 every year... that's a price increase of so many percent that it's not even comprehensible!! No, I am sorry but that is simply way to much for a personal account!
I purchased Aqua Mail largely because it works with Tasker. I was pleasantly surprised how well it met my overall needs so I ended up making the "one-time purchase" for the pro version and was happy for years. I just updated the app for the first time in months and saw that there was an option to keep my Pro license for $.49 but it expired on September 30th without me seeing any notice (hence the 3-star rating). I want to know if I can still do that or if I need to move to another app.
Been using for years! Perfect! Updated review. Paid for the app years ago. Now for whatever reason they don't accept my license and and use a sub based model. Rediculous. I didn't know this until I had to change phones and reinstall everything. Guess what, Gmail is free and allows me to check all my email accounts without intrusive ads. Fart you aquamail and I hope you go out of business.
I have been a pro user for many years. After downloading the app on my new device, I was prompted to pay a one-time fee to transfer my data from the old aqua to the new one. I agreed and made the payment. However, I was then asked to pay an additional $9.99, with the subscription fee increasing to $29.99 after a year. I issued a refund that was processed immediately without revoking my Pro benefits.
This application is quite possibly the best one in regards to email management out there. Marked to two stars because the adverts are getting far too overzealous. All I need is the basic functionality offered in the free version, without advertising. Anyway, time to move on. In reply to dev: I do not need the full functionality; it would be a waste of money to pay for features I do not require. Many app devs offer paying a small fee to only remove ads (Which is usually around a few USD yearly).
Probably the best Android email client app! There are a few important issues: a very slow search and a bad notification system. When notifications are set to display all emails, when a new email arrives, the app displays a notification with text "+xyz more emails..." on both your phone and your watch, instead of a notification with the sender and subject of the new email. This makes the app practically unusable with a smart watch. Besides those usability issues, the app is great.
Came back from IOS now no access to my Pro key. I have been a long-time user of aquamail due to its Tasker integration. I had switched to IOS with my last phone. moving back to Android with a surprise, 2 years later I cannot access my Pro key which I purchased. Now I have to buy a subscription for what I already purchased. I understand that ongoing development can be costly but many can't afford a subscription for every app. ill consider a revised review when this is corrected.
I've been using computers since the late '70s and in all that time have paid for perhaps four freeware/shareware programs. This is one of them. Excellent! Update: After purchasing the full pro version years ago, I was suddenly charged a subscription fee! Aqua Mail is apparently going to a subscription model. Would have been nice to know! I'll be taking my business elsewhere unless this is resolved very quickly.
