Works as described (better than the official app). In my case I have to pair the mug every day but I believe that's a common hw issue. I would appreciate it if I could label my presets and was also able to control the led intensity. These two missing features are in no way a deal-breaker.
Reviews for Ember Supreme
← Back to Ember SupremeSuperior alternative to the Ember app. More people need to know about this! This appears to fix all of the connectivity issues that plague the app developed by Ember themselves. The only thing I'd like to see at some point is a percentage value for the battery life. Otherwise, it has all of the information and controls as the other app but without all of the issues! Thanks to the dev of this one! Happy to support quality developers like you. :)
If you have an Ember mug, you NEED this app! As you are probably aware, the official app is a nightmare to use - constant disconnects, can't find the mug, etc. This app solves all of those issues and allows you to do all the basic functions that you need - change the temp, change the LED color, etc. It also has a real time display of current temperature. I've been so frustrated by the offical app for so long I kind of gave up on it - Ember Supreme has made my mug a joy to use again!
REJOICE! An Ember app that works! I couldn't even sign onto my account in the original app let alone control the mug so decided to give this third party app a go. Many thanks to the dev for creating this, it's crazy that Ember can't make their own product function correctly but I'm happy to part with cash to someone who can.
No built-in timers, no labeled presets for temp, no low battery notification, clumsy interface and still isn't always reliable with connectivity and temp notification. Just do a force stop on the manufacturer's app and it will work fine afterwards and that's a lot better than what is offered here and charged money for it. Orig dev response: "There are temperature presets, if you care to look for it. And btw, if you want the app for free, why don't you build one yourself?"
So much better than the app made by ember! Haven't had any connectivity issues, and it has been so much more reliable! One thing I would like to see is a temperature preset option where I can save specific temps and hit a button to sit the mug to that temperature. The slider is a little bit clunky to get the mug on specific temps
No connect issues at all unlike the official Ember app. I do have issues with the temp every now and again. Not sure if it's an issue with the app or the mug itself, but the temp of my coffee will be a lot colder than the temp I've set it at and I'll try increasing it and there's no difference. The mug was full battery, but again this doesn't happen too often and I'll happily take this app over the official.
Seems to work well, although unless I'm missing something it doesn't seem to have an indicator of whether the mug is charging or not which the official app does, which is a little disappointing. I also ran into issues (which are not app related) with the mug sensing itself as empty when there's a small amount of coffee left. It would be amazing if there was a way to force heating on despite the level indicator.
5 stars because it works so quickly and is simple. That's what I need more than anything else. Thanks for this! I do have a small wish list. I have an Ember tumbler and cup. It would be nice if it was easier to switch between them, and it should say the name of the currently connected device. (I believe support for multiple cups is quite new, so I'm looking forward to future enhancements.) Next, it would be nice to see a percentage readout of the battery, especially while charging.
Way better than the official app. It's a mug that gets warm, you don't need all those extra features. Setting the LED color doesn't work for me, but that's not a big deal unless you have multiple people with identical mugs. I did get the frequent notifications, but just disabled those. Again, it's a mug that gets warm. All I need to know is the charging/battery info, current temp, and set temp. Thanks for making this!
Oh boy I can finally use my mug without all the disconnects and other bluetooth issues associated with the default app. Really really glad I stumbled upon it. Some minor suggestions: consider making the temperature changes by the whole degree (I'm using Fahrenheit), and adding a percentage in the battery indicator. But really this app is excellent and I'd recommend it to everybody who owns the mug.
As many others have mentioned, this is way better than the Ember app. Not all the bells and whistles, but I only use it for coffee temp. Connects easier, but the BT light/function stays on, and battery dies quicker, and it never held much of a charge with the Ember app.
This app works great! I'd love to see some recommended temperature presets similar to what can be found in the ember app. When using the app for the first time, make sure to uninstall the OEM ember app and reset the ember mug before pairing it with your phone. If you don't, you'll have trouble pairing the mug with your phone every time you try to use it.
Pros: works much more reliably than the official Ember app, which is, in all fairness, a pretty low bar. Does all I need it to do, which is setting temperatures and getting notifications. Cons: the UX needs a bit of work. The temperature slider is a bit strange in particular, in that it starts at 0 degrees C, so the range of coffee temperature (50-60ish) ends up being a bit short and tricky to set specific temp. Overall this is a great solution to the horrible status of the official app.
Works much better than the official Ember app. However, notifications seem to be a bit buggy. Set my mug temp and set my phone down to work. When I picked my phone up an hour later, I suddenly got 30+ notifications that my mug had reached its target temperature. Think the app needs some polish on notifications when the phone is idling. Not sure if it's Doze or another battery saving feature baked into Android, but something is causing the app to go to sleep and then suddenly try and catch up.
Infinitely better than the Ember app, no disconnects and it can always find my mug. However, been having an issue for about 2 weeks where the heating element will not turn on because it says the mug is empty even with a full mug. Sometimes it will come on, heat for a minute or two but then turn off and say Empty Mug (not heating). Not sure why it won't register the liquid and turn on/stay on, so I've been stuck with cold coffee.
Y'all, it's a morning coffee miracle. I love my Ember mug and have been so frustrated by the app crashing, disconnecting, not syncing properly...and recently not even opening. But this app does everything the original was supposed to do. It shows remaining battery life, includes preset temps, and accurately tracks the temp. The heater on/off button is great. There's plenty to worry about during the day, but I love that remembering to reheat my coffee isn't one of them. (I have an Ember Mug 2)
Actually works, compared to the original ember app. However, I can't get the led color to stay set. Keeps defaulting back to white. Also missing a lot of the features of the original ember app as well. If you're going to charge, you might want to at least match what the manufacturer tried to give us for free.
Glad I found this app! I thought I was screwed with not being able to use my mug anymore because the original app wouldn't connect no matter what I did. I use my Ember every day, all day. Thank you for the rescue app. One suggestion if possible, add the ability to start heating even if low temperature is detected and it thinks it is empty...might not be a thing or it is and I don't know how to do it. Anyway, terrific job!
Doesn't connect most of the time. Degrees are in 1/10ths for some reason? You can't actually set 3 presets because mixing the dial changes the last preset you used... All in a paid app Edit: Oh, and you can't actually set the mug to max temp. 144.4 is the highest you can go. Not that big of a deal, but this level of jank is everywhere in the app. If it were free, that would be one thing...
