Reviews for Empower - Your ride, your way

Drivers come on time pretty much and the rides for now are reasonable. One thing I noticed I have to watch my bank account because they have been adding extra money here and there. I would rather spend a little more and be charged the correct amount.

I came across an Empower ride through my niece. But I first doubt it would be more affordable than the rest. But no doubt it is. The most affordable and shortest waiting ride app is Empower. I sincerely like it the most. Like me, have a try, and you will forever use it. My profound thanks to the developers and those working behind the scenes to fulfill our needs. Bravo!

drivers are hit or miss. But usually miss. they are rude and sometimes lack sense of direction. a little reckless on the road with the speeding and merging. IDK what's going on with them. then the app itself keeps switching up the prices. it'll say one price one second but soon as I request the ride it'll change to something higher. what is going on? I could go on but the other reviews speak on most of everything else.

The one feature i liked best aboit empower was the 20% discount for uber and lift rides and i've come to find out its not always giving you the discount even though it states it whenever you request a ride. Another thing is the distance that the driver is traveling is not accurate with the actual distance traveled. As someone who needs a ride this "was" a great alternative for getting me to and from work.

After 50 rides, the company is great. What I would like to see from the app: Hours should represent how long I have been online instead of the time a rider is in the car. Let people know they are getting less than 1 ride an hour if this is the case. Message notifications should show in the active app. Who is looking at phone message notifications while driving? I've never seen a surge or drivers needed message until after I closed the app. There is no way to text passengers.

I like how cheap this is, but this has some of the laziest drivers in the area. Even if they're less than 5 minutes away, they cancel and I never get picked up. I would've already been waiting 10 minutes for somebody to accept. There needs to be some sort of rule that prevents drivers from canceling once they cross a certain distance or a certain amount of time pass. Good concept for an app, but the drivers who work for it are terrible. If time is important to you, I can't recommend this app.

This app is garbage. And so is customer support. Downloaded and installed it because I love the concept. I really wish it worked. It requires that I verify my email address with a code they send. Every time I enter their code I'm told the code is not valid. Contacted support (via email because you cannot speak to anyone) and received a reply addressed to another user saying the problem is I have multiple accounts. So far I don't even have one. Great concept but impossible to use the service.

Three price is good. However, because the drivers in my area use other driving agencies, they are busy running several phones and because of the rates the other agencies pay, even though most of the profit goes to them with empower, the higher rates of the others will pay off more. So, they pick and choose while running 3 apps to see which one pays more. Smart for the driver, very problematic for the consumer if they need to get somewhere on time with little money to do it.

The price is a positive only during surge times, otherwise the price is the same as uber/lyft. I like that they give a larger percentage to drivers than those companies. My problem with this app is that there is no detailed review system for drivers. You can't leave a review past 👍, I've had creepy drivers that I couldn't review, and was matched with them again later. I've had drivers that mark arrived while they are 15min away, so that you can't cancel for free. Good 4 drivers, bad 4 riders.

I like it. Except I've left keys in the car before, and there is no way to contact a driver, like in other apps, to recover things quickly and safely for both sides. Cheaper rides. Better for the drivers. But sucks if you accidentally leave something there 😢. You'll never see it again.

It was good at first, but than the prices started changing once I got the ride. Then three weeks ago I was terminated while trying to call for a ride, I don't know why. It kept saying suspicious activity and they took $20 from me saying I called a ride when I couldn't access the app. I tried contacting them, they ask for proof and I did, but they still did nothing. Their customer service sucks and they ate my money. No way to contact the driver like Uber, or rate them. They need to do better.

I was blocked from the application because I logged into my account on a new device due to a glitch in the system that somehow didn't anticipate that people get new phones and aren't trying to game the system. After having to provide personal information to confirm my identity, multiple deletions, stagnant communication and more - two months later, I'm still unable to use this app. I want to support drivers to ensure they can make a livable wage, but PLEASE get your stuff together.

The app/company has potential. While it can slightly cheaper than Uber and Lyft, the prices shown up front can be misleading as they don't show the total amount including tolls like the other apps. Also the ride credit usage is kinda silly. If you have ride credit, it only takes off $3 per ride (after your first ride) even if you have more than that in your account. Should be able to use your entire amount just like the other apps.

Great app. Two criticisms: 1) No other rideshare app charges more to the card than the total that is shown. Empower does a hold that is larger than the total. Which is a bit frustrating. 2) There's maybe a 10 minute window to leave a tip for the driver. If you don't do it in that time frame the option to tip goes away. The time frame should be longer.

Customer service has yet to help me resolve my issue with my account. It's been 6 days since I got an email after emailing them twice last week. And they said, "Since we haven't heard from you, we will close the ticket out." Which is BS because I did email them 2x at LEAST! but it's like they keep ignoring my question on how to resolve the issue. Edit: I see others have been told they have multiple accounts as well, that's my issue. This many complaints and no improvements/resolutions?? Smh.

I love the prices and that the drivers rarely cancel but there are some things the app can definitely improve on. 1. Accurate pickup/ drop off. They will arrive down the street and you will get a notification that they have arrived. It is always a challenge to find the driver so I have to make sure I schedule with extra time so I am not late. 2. The license plates almost never match. This is not good for the safety of your riders. 3. Doesn't give you the option to rate all drivers. Plz fix!

App sucks. Drivers are nicer but there's always a hold for more money that takes forever to clear. You agree on one price and by the time a driver picks it up, the rate changes and goes higher. Drivers cancel all the time and the new driver will be more expensive. Drivers cancel 3 minutes away after waiting 20 minutes already. They are never in the cars listed on the app...very dangerous. Drivers always arrive at the wrong destination and it's hard to find them. I will be going back to Uber

Started using it because it was recommended to me by a co-worker. The ride gives you a few funds at first and rides are cheap but quickly turns out to be no different in price between Uber and Lyft for most distances. They also pull a bait and switch where they will show a cost for the ride and after completion, up your charge by tacking on fees such as tolls even though you have not passed through any.

I'm not the type to usually leave reviews on apps but Empower is a must have if you use rideshare. It's almost always less expensive than other apps, and I feel better about the cost going directly towards the drivers but most of all I've just had better experiences with drivers overall. I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence but I've had some really great conversations with Empower drivers on a regular basis. They're always really pleasant and friendly!

The rates are better compared to other rideshare apps, and there's usually plenty of drivers available. After about a month or so of using Empower, I have to say the gps causes issues with pickup at times, and as others have stated, there is no guarantee for your rate and I have seen my final price a few dollars higher than when I first booked. It also takes longer than quoted for many drivers to actually reach you. I've been late to work because of this smh.
