Been using EP McGuffey Primer for a couple months now. It’s basically an app to get your kid reading faster. The way it works is, they’ll learn a set of sight words, then read stories that only use those words. Pretty cool concept.
Here’s what you do: your kid sees a word, and if they can’t read it, they can click on it to hear it. And then they repeat it back. There’s also random practice, where the words are mixed up. And after they master the words, they can read the stories out loud or listen to them. Took me a bit to figure out the whole routine but it seems to work well.
Look, if you’ve got a young kid who’s learning to read, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – some of the stories are kinda boring – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
