$29 one time payment to set up a shop? A few months ago it was $11 and I couldn't even make an account during that time because it kept crashing. I tried for weeks. Not to mention I feel a little uneasy linking my bank account, sending in a picture of me and both sides of my ID only for me to not go through with making the account after all. Very dissatisfied.
Constant Crashing. I miss the old Etsy app. this app doesn't allow access to most of the setting in your shop, crashes whenever I attempt to open anything. I can't access customer messages. I can't do shop or shipping customizing. I shouldn't have to go onto my computer every time I add or update a listing because you can't edit the required content for listing.
For the last week I cannot upload new listing without the app freezing and crashing. I've cleared the cache and data. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've restarted my phone several times. I can't even reach out to support and contact an actual person for technical help. Any time I've tried to reach out for direct help the app stops me from submitting my number and everything on that aspect just says "null" and I'm unable to move forward. please help.
9/16/25: Was forced to update last week; same issues. What are you bothering to even update, your spyware? 4/15/25: Links to private listings will not appear in the customer's messages. They show up and work fine on my end, but the customer is not receiving them. False errors when sending messages, photos won't upload properly, and notifications show up hours after the fact. Utterly useless.
It crashes a lot. This week, if I click on a notification to open the app, it completely freezes and I have had to uninstall and reinstall it TWICE to get it running again. I do wish it would not completely reload the whole app if I leave for just a second to double check info elsewhere on my phone too. Edit: no longer opens at all. it will open and run once only right after reinstalling, then just has a plain purple screen that will never load further, even when left for half an hour to load.
EDIT: 2 years later and the app is still garbage. Sending messages to customers is a crapshoot; it may send, or it may never send and then disappear, leaving you to look like an idiot when the customer never hears from you. This is why Etsy is dying as a platform. Forced us to use this app after ending the old app. This app has too many issues, including the inability to upload pictures.
Can't log in anymore. Got a new phone and now stuck in endless captcha menus. Spent over 20 minutes just trying to log in, each time got sent back to the checkbox and had to redo the captcha. Can't log into my shop and take care of my current orders. Been using this app for years on my old phone. edit 5/29/25: I was now able to log in today after not hearing back from support. It required a code to log in and did not trigger a captcha. Hopefully they keep it that way.
The initial experience with this app was great and easy to sell on. However a few MONTHS ago there was a slight miscommunication with a customer resulting in my account being wrongfully permanently suspended. I have sent in multiple appeals with all the details I can give but every two weeks it makes me send in a new one. I've looked up other ways to contact them but it makes you sign into your account to talk to someone about fixing your issue. I cant do that though because Its suspended.
I have all notifications other than sales and messages turned off, yet I still get notifications for things like "new trends buyers are loving". Please give me an option to turn this off. If I wanted that info I'd seek it out myself. I used to be able to upload photos in the order I wanted them to be shown and now it seems to be random and I have to fix it afterwards. edit: still getting useless notifications, but at least the app doesnt shut down anymore
For months, I have been unable to open any options in the "More" tab (e.g. stats, payment account, etsy ads) without the app immediately black-screening and closing. I have tried updating, uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing data and cache from the seller app, restarting my phone, etc. The app is literally unusable other than receiving notifications for purchases.
