Reviews for Expo Go

← Back to Expo Go

I don't really have any gripes about it. I built my first app using this to run the typescript files and see what works and what doesn't. Really helps to work out the bugs before building the APK for the full functioning app. It can update in real time when you save changes to your files. sometimes its major enough to clear the cache and restart the app but that takes 30 seconds.

Come on, this is slowing down things. Few days ago the app kept crashing. You fix it for one day and the next uncaught error again. Can't even open the project. Some of us choose expo over flutter anytime. But this is getting very disappointing. Please fix it or something. Now have to download the flutter sdk and start over.

i fails to connect, i gets the something went wrong error. but i do not know what to do cause is not listed i also have failed to check for compatibility with my expo sdk53 as you say newer version supports only sdk 54

app doesnt load unless im offline or takes too long to load, it forces me to open the app with wifi turned off and turn wifi on again after the app runs

Great AI .... helped me build a booking app for free. 3 stars because the app keeps crashing and you have to reload severally before it works. I think that needs to be worked on.

Expo Go is an amazing app! It makes testing and running React Native projects super easy without the need for complex setup. The interface is clean, fast, and user-friendly. I really like how smooth it is to scan a QR code and instantly see my project running on my phone. It saves so much time and effort during development.

From the new update, I'm now unable to launch my app from my Projects. It just shows me the list of all branches, but I can't launch any of them, unlike earlier. Please fix this ASAP!

The app is perfectly fine but sometimes my app freezes and I have to restart the expo go app. Please try to fix this. Thanks

I really love this app it's easy to use and I enjoy making my apps. However I have only only problem and the problem is that sometimes when I try to scan my Qr code the app does not open in my phone after trying 6 to 7 times still don't open then I have to fully restart my laptop then I scan qr code so most of time my app open on my phone but still some time it also don't work even though my laptop and phone connected with the same internet if you could solve this issue so it would be great.

Can't load app from My Projects anymore. after the new update, it is not possible to load the project from my projects. it just shows the branches but can't launch any of them directly. this is very sad :'( i hope this is a bug and not a removal of the most useful feature of the app!

Really useful app, makes development really simple. My only issue is sometimes the machine isn't picked up and I have to scan the QR but this isn't only a minor issue, apart from that everything else works well.

Expo helped me get off the ground fast. As with anything in engineering, eventually you'll want to dig into the abstractions, expos processes, and the native code it generates

Be prepared to get frustrated. But, stick with it. The program has its quirks, and it does require some knowledge of what you are doing if you are getting into an indepth or app that shares live data.

The restarting of the router is a bit annoying because I have to do it every day, but works well. Apparently after the last update I also have not only to restart my wifi, but also delete and download the application again, because the last version is not compatible with the new one and my app breaks.. thanks expo, for wasting my time. I hope sth better comes soon

Basically refuses to work at all times especially when I'm scanning the QR code. Was eager to learn but each time I couldn't even get the most basic tests to work, I lost motivation.

Was working earlier but the recent update can't allow me start the app on my Samsung Galaxy S8 android v9. The app axits with a message "Expo Go keeps stopping" with close and app info options. I've cleared the app data multiple times and reinstalled it severally but with no success. Edited: The bug was fixed and the app works perfectly as before.

well I gave it 3 stars cause if speed and creation. I've been playing around with it for the past 1 hour or so and its not completely ready for public use in my opinion. when tge app is downloaded on my phone. everything is jumbled up but online. its button. some features not working. idk need a Lil bit more to do for me.

It worked fine until now, when it started to say that "Sorry about that. You can go back to expo home and try reloading the project". Reloading or restarting the server does not work and and there is a option to view error log, and it says "Uncaught error: Java.io.IOException : failed to download remote update". I have uninstalled and reinstalled it but nothing works. This sucks if its a framework for react native then it should work. I am using Realme 5.

Using this for a year or so now.. Overall the idea and usefulness of expo is 5/5. Execution of product 3/5. Comments aren't wrong, tons of issues, for me worst is how horrible debug mode is, and how it screws up things even when you turn it off, to the point of needing to Uninst. And install to work again. But many connection issues ppl complain about can be easily solved with a few google searchs and making sure you are connected to same wifi router at home on devices.

It sees the app server running on my laptop, but when I select the app, nothing happens. Same if I enter the URL manually and tap Connect. If I try using the QR code it recognises the code and then... nothing happens. If there's an issue I get that, but the lack of feedback is incredibly frustrating.
