Reviews for Express Scripts

← Back to Express Scripts

Two different orders, each about 4 months apart from each other, were delayed because the app needed me to "validate" the shipping address, even though I've lived at the same address for 3 years. And the problem continues. I checked the app after getting home from the doctor's office, and the new scripts were there. 3 business days later, and nothing has shipped because they need to verify my address for the 10th time. How incredibly frustrating.

Ten Giant Steps Back I used to could price the same medication at different pharmacies all at once and choose the lowest price. Now, I cant even change the pharmacy anymore. Even after logging into the app, I have to login AGAIN just to price a medication. I have to choose the desktop version of the app in order to see my claims and balances. Go back to the version of two months ago, develop more thorough plans for an upgrade, and then try it again. This version is BAD!

Biometrics works well. Unable to remove old meds on list, archive to "reduce" confusion. My insurance company requires that I approve all automatic refill, this process is annoying. You have a 7-14 day window before your meds run out. Once orders are in, delivery process is pretty good, items that must remain cold (cool) are packeaged satisfactory. Overall, the place the order process through the app is the strength, getting the item into the cart can be a daunting set of steps.

The app is pretty straightforward. Seems to list all meds I can order and tells me when they will ship. Wish they would include brand names, under the generic name. Brand names are easier for me to remember.. Would also like to see all my meds llisted, along with date for refill. It helps me to budget for cost of meds. Just make it simpler. The app I worked just fine, easy to understand. Thank you.

Horrible app and service!! Cost is 3 times as much to use their mail order service than it does going to a local pharmacy but they demand and constantly email you that you are required to go thru mail order. A total scam. Also, even if an order is written for 90 days they will only fill for 30 days. A complete waste of time and inconvenience to the customer. Lousy customer service!!!

My only complaint is that they take a long time to ship. It is free shipping though, so its not too bad. Its just not great for new meds. I wish they could provide other shipping methods, like first class, or same day. I'm not necessarily saying for free, because shipping fees can be ridiculous. I think it would be nice if they provided it for free on first time *ever* fills thiugh. Not necessarily a re-sent script's "first" fill, but if it's never been filled in your system.

It is easy to order my meds with this app. I used to have to call, and if it was very simple, it didn't take very long. However, you had to go through multiple layers of robo-phone to get an order in. Now, I open the app using biometrics, scroll to the med I need, and order it. A minute tops to complete what I need! With all the meds involved in two fairly serious diseases, there are a lot! Thanks for making one aspect so much easier!

Waste of time and just makes you angry. I have tried using this app for over six months now, and I wish I had never downloaded it. The 9/19/23 "update" that was supposed to fix some bugs has done nothing for me, and the app still refuses to even open. Every time I select it, it just crashes. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Even before this, when it was working, I had the same problems as a few other people where every selection and login attempt was met with an error message.

App is very hit and miss. It will work fine for 6 months and then all of a sudden it will forget how to check my order against my insurance and won't let me check out until I add a credit card (the one script I get from them is completely covered and requires no payment from me). I have no issues whatsoever when I log in to the mobile site to complete the process. I am one more month of this before I just get rid of the app entirely.

Don't use this service for antibiotics or controlled substances or anything you need quickly. New scripts take 2 weeks or longer to arrive. They won't tell you any of this when the order is placed. You will be waiting for important meds to arrive, and they won't come until it is too late. The app needs to be honest about what it can and can't provide, instead of accepting orders in bad faith. Use this for recurring management prescriptions ONLY. For those orders, they do a good job.

More the company than app. The app functioned well. The company however is an absolute pain to deal with. I ordered 5 prescriptions, never got 1. Cancelled all of them and went to local pharmacy. Same cost and so much easier to deal with. The local pharmacy had no issue filling the script that Express Scripts never got done. Waste of time and effort and was supposed to be easier. What a joke.

Have never been able to price a medication on this app or on the mobile site. I type the first 3 letters, or 4 letters, or the entire name. Then I select the name of the medication that pops up. Nothing happens. I hit enter or search, and a message pops up saying that the medication can't be found. When I close the message, I see that the search box has inputted what I keyed in addition to the auto-completed name of the medication. I told several reps over 2 months with no resolution. Useless.

Sluggish and screws up your order. If you just want to view claims and such, no problem. Just don't order any refills through it - if you request 2-day, you'll get bumped up to the more expensive 1-day without notification. And don't expect their customer service to be of any use when you try to find out what happened - they'll just repeat "that's what you requested" until the universe ends.

The app doesn't work . I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app. When I try to access my prescriptions or anything else on the app, it just says "Sorry we couldn't load your prescriptions now. Please try again later." It has said this for over a month now. I have to call for every little thing which requires going through the annoying voice recognition each time.

They've re-added the "days remaining" feature. Everything seems to be similar to what it was before and that's the way I like it. However, the quantity on all of my medications says 0. Maybe that's a bug that needs worked out? Oh and the number of remaining refills is off too. It shows how many refills were originally ordered and not what's actually remaining. Also, I noticed it's not "instant" anymore. Everything is delayed by a day.

The user interface is not intuitive. If you have multiple people, including children, on your account, you can not access any of their prescription information. This app would be mediocre for single people without dependents, for parents or those with dependents it is as useful as a cardboard box with the words express scripts written on it. I would rate the app a zero if I could. The cardboard box gets 1.5 stars

The app won't let me pass the login. It shows my password is correct. It sends me a verification code, I type it in. Then in throws me a "system error" each time. Yet, it let's me login the browser. Honestly, I don't think I'll be using Express Scripts anymore. I gave it a try. It takes way too long for meds to arrive. It says 3-5 business days after processing. Processing takes days. It's not helpful, faster, or easier if I can't get my meds when I need them.

Overall easy and convenient. I wish you could sync all your meds so you could place a single order every 3 months. That's more an insurance thing I'm sure. One thing that's a small pain is when refills are sent in, it generates a new prescription but leaves the old one on your list. It's usually the one with the "days remaining" counter. Also, when a newer dose of a med is sent, you must make sure you select the script with the correct dose. That's why I took off 1 star.

6/13/2020 update: Now app just won't load my orders or prescriptions. Every time I try to use it I get more disappointed. Terrible app, even worse than the web site. Every time I've tried to use it in the last four months I always get the error "Because of an error in our system, we can't complete your checkout right now. You can try to check out later or call us at the toll-free number on your member ID card. Reference number: 8068" The "checkout later" part has never worked.

At this point in time. Seems that the last 3 weeks (or more maybe) that every time I get a notice about medicine from "Express Scripts" and click on it, I get an "system error" and can not view what the notice is trying to convey to me! It has become more than annoying right now! Please fix this "bug, issue, problem" or whatever it is! Thank You in Advance - Sincerely, Roy S. Hughey
