Loving this app!! I've been searching for an alternative to K-9 and have finally found it! Only a few small issues I can't seem to find info about. Is there a way to reduce the font sizes in the account list? Also, is there a way to further reduce message list fonts... just a little smaller than "small" would be perfect. Thanks for creating this app!!
Reviews for FairEmail, privacy aware email
Been using app for a month or so, and overall am satisfied. To earn 5 stars, the developer needs to make customizing the settings easier. I've searched for days to find how to change some settings (e.g. identity) w/o success. I haven't even found how to access settings yet, so a good starting point would be to add a settings icon in the app. Next, write instructions in complete sentences, rather than stuccato-style (e.g., "Setup, step 1, Manage, tap account"). But if the auto-setup works and is to your liking, then the app should meet most of your needs.
I've been using FairEmail for about a year and it's been absolutely perfect for my needs. It's completely usable out of the box, but also offers a lot of customization that suits my use of many folders and aliases in a way that no other app I've tried has been able to. The fact that it's open source and free (or very reasonably priced for Pro) is the icing on the cake and sets it apart. Fantastic work!
Great Email app! It takes a few uses to understand the layout but once I got it, I uninstalled Spark mail (which I've used for a couple of years because they went to a subscription model). FairEmail doesn't require a subscription so I have been more than happy with it. Only thing is I cant figure out how to purchase the pro version. Overall, great alternative to other email apps.
As some have pointed out, there is a lot of settings/options to go through. But who said you have to do all of them at once? Make a point to do a page (or half/part a page) a day, and before you know it, you'll eventually either become familiar with many opts, or have made the necessary changes you needed. It is near impossible to meet the wide variety of needs and taste without a lot of setting options. I was able to set up Fairmail to allow me to mind the new emails--thats all "I" need.
This, in my opinion, is a first rate brilliant piece of work! I have used the free version long enough to see that it is worth, (again my opinion), what he's asking for the pro version so I happily paid. I don't do or say that very often so my hat's off to the developer on this one. The instructions are easy to follow and setup. You can easily see any or all of the email just by clicking on the part or pic you wish to see. Well done sir.
Fantastic email app for Android! I've been frustrated with the VERY LIMITED Google Gmail app for years. I tried a few other top rated email apps that still weren't for me. I finally tried this app. At first I was apprehensive because the initial setup was a little convoluted, but I patiently got through it. Wow, I'm glad I did! This is the best email app for Android I've seen! Very simple and easy to use once you figure it out. Very easy to add folders. Very customizable. Definitely a keeper!
I've been using the app for years and it's just fantastic. Lots of options of desired, but you can use it pretty much default as well. It does everything I need and does it securely. The developer is extremely supportive when I've had questions. The only issues I've ever had have been due to when Google and Microsoft changed my account settings on their end. The app has remained flawless.
I've tried a few mail clients recently, and settling with this one. It has lots of configuration to tweak, which can be both a good thing (for advanced users) and a negative (for regular users). Luckily you don't really need to dive into the settings if you're a regular user, and if you want to tweak things you can. It has privacy and tracking protection by default. I probably won't use many if any Pro features, but this app is worth a bit of your local currency anyway to show some support!
Over-&-Above technical support by the creator of FairEmail, Marcel. I wanted to display messages grouped in an uncommon way. Marcel listened and patiently provided interactive guidance which ultimately satisfied my need. I'm still learning the FairEmail App, but what I've seen so far is impressive. The default settings are fine and generally don't need to be changed. But if you like something a certain way, I'll bet there's a setting to customize it to your liking. Highly recommended.
