when I click on button to save the picture, instead of saving the picture it ask me to share it. That's a very dumb design

← Back to FAMILIES | TalkingPointsGreat way to communicate with th school.
What a horrible app. even with notifications allowed I have missed several important messages from the teachers. this app will not notify anything unless you have it open.
I like being able to communicate with my child's teacher through texts. One feature I no longer seem to have is the ability to react with a thumbs up when a reaction is needed for acknowledgment. Otherwise, it works well for me.
Bad system. Why are there read receipts for family messages? Teacher stopped using the program because of this.
last day of school and every message is saying "invalid response". thanks a lot, talking points. why is it doing this? I removed emojis, my phone number and email I tried sending and even cut the text in half and still nothing. mind you, I've sent all those things before without issues. why now?
I cant even open the app to file a support claim, every time it try to open it it tells me all instances have stopped and just auto closes. This is incredible frustrating as the school year just begun and now we have most of our ways to get ahold of the teacher not working.
Update: I checked the settings and they were set correctly. Original post: Still not working. I'm not getting notifications from the app when a teacher sends a message. all of my notifications settings are turned on my phone.
Simple app to communicate with my child's school staff and teachers. Private one on one messaging and general posts on homepage. The school sends you an invitation link, you log in, can add your picture, contact information, see your child's teachers and interact with them. No complicated stuff or additional unnecessary features.
Good overall, but stopped working correctly on my Google Pixel 5a. I had to uninstall and reinstall it to fix it. It would not get past the loading screen with the Talking Points logo and the spinning icon showing it's loading. No other solution worked. Works fine on my Samsung Galaxy tablet.
The app started out great in August, but unfortunately, I am not receiving notifications in September. I have followed their troubleshooting instructions by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I have allowed all notifications for the app. I have tried to contact them, but it seems impossible. I hope my issue can get resolved soon.
For this to be an app for students, parents, and teachers to share valuable information. You can't afford the bloopers with crashing/closing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Only to get the same blooper. 🤦🏼♂️ *Update.. Thanks for responding and correcting the issue I was having. Customer service is just as important as the app.
It's pretty good - except for not being able to use it on the PC like I could with Remind. Otherwise, I love being able to get in touch with the teachers do easily. The bad? as of this school year, I no longer get notifications & I have to regularly check. As busy as I stay, I will often miss something by 1-2 days.
The app UI is buggy. The keyboard closed when inputting the verification code and wouldn't reopen, so I had to start over. It says the newest message is new, even though I've read it. Multiple times. And it won't let me change my name from "Enter full name". Im deleting as it provides me no benefit over simply texting my child's teacher.
The app needs an easy, intuitive way to offer suggestions and report gliches, as there seems to be none at all now. One thing it needs is a way to edit the list of people. My child is going to academy that's part of the school system but kind of a separate entity, and not all the teachers from the main school are off the list. It would also be nice to add notes for the people in the list.
When It works it is fine.... however I somehow got signed out and there is absolutely no way to just log into the app....now I have to message all the teachers and ask for class codes. I have been using it for a week and all of a sudden got signed out for no reason. A simple way to log into an already registered account would be freaking nice!!!! Every app I've ever used allows you to sign back in. What gives?!
It's very easy to use especially if you don't skip the tutorial following your sign up! The only downside is that you'll find some of the teachers NEVER respond...which can be frustrating, especially if you're trying to find out how to fo about makeup work or extra credit to help bring a struggling students grade up. You can definately tell which ones are more caring and involved in your child's education and who really could care less...but that's not the apps fault🤷♀️🤦♀️
As soon as you install the application, it disables text alerts (whether or not you want it to). And then notifications don't work on the app! All notification settings are enabled in Android, I reinstalled the app, and still no luck. TalkingPoints has next to no help resources online, and there is no way to contact them directly. You can send a message through their system and then wait. Furthermore, it's unclear whether text message alerts are re-enabled once the app is uninstalled.
Very slow. Need major fixing up! Every time I use the app it either crashes or just goes so slow that I don't even bother. Sometimes I don't get to read the notifications because it's so slow. Also doesn't like this issue has ever been solved. Another thing I can't even edit my own information. If my kid's school didn't totally depend on this app as a form of communication, it would've been uninstalled months ago!
Since downloading the app I have successfully gotten it to open ONCE. I get notifications that teachers have posted something, but the app won't open to let me see it! I have uninstalled and reinstalled, no change. Edit: Here's some irony. I managed to get back into the app one more time and found an app developer had messaged me in-app for more info. I sent my device details and connections and sent them... and I have no way to follow up for solutions...because the app won't load.
