Great app. Love that they added the budget option, just wish it was an actual budget and not just a checkbook. I would love to actually do a zero-based budget in the app, track my expenses throughout the month in the checkbook, and have it automatically show what I have spent and remaining in each budget category (just a thought). This app helps my husband and I so much with shopping and keeping track of ours and our kids' schedules. Would like it if there was a notes section.
Reviews for FamilyWall: Family Organizer
← Back to FamilyWall: Family OrganizerIt's nice to have all of this in one app, but the problem is that there are free apps that do each of these features better. There are better calendar apps, to do / grocery list apps, recipe/meal planning apps, location tracking apps, messaging apps etc. Like I said, there is the hassle of having separate apps for all of this stuff, but it is also free and more functional.
I tried several times to cancel my subscription during the trial period to no avail. I couldn't find an option anywhere in the app. It also did not (does not) show in my list of Google Play subscriptions or order history. Now, that I have been charged, there is miraculously an option to cancel my subscription. I would like a refund. UPDATE: I was contacted quickly by the app developer. They made sure my subscription was canceled and issued me a prompt refund. That kind of customer service is rare these days. Great app; it just didn't work for my family.
While I love all the different things you can do, especially syncing calendar with family, I was disappointed by the maps. I paid for the yearly fee just for that, and it's seriously lacking. Half of the time, it will not update to real time when I try to update someone's location. It also does not show history or real time traveling. Unless there is a major change, Im better off just using the free version of this app and getting life360 for maps.
Easy layout, multiple features, and ability to sync with all users on both Apple and Android devices. Love that we can add lists, keep track of spending with categories and visuals (you do have to enter it manually), make lists, and more! The free version was just enough for what we needed (shared calendar), but we loved it so much we upgraded and pay annually. I feel like the $40ish per year is totally worth it. Definitely recommend to anyone needing to sync and organize with multiple people!
Good idea, but lacking functionality, not necessarily behind the paywall either. There are many business / team oriented apps that can accomplish what this app does, but better and free. I do like the simplicity and the UI, but I would like to see more options for the individual (think of a 1 stop shop instead of switching to your own individual calendar or to do app).
So far it's nice enough but I would love it if the list had more features such as an option to skip a day on repeating tasks and a more in-depth history to see all tasks that have been done by people throughout the month or even year with a time/date stamp. It also really needs the option to edit notes on photos. Really just more robust gallery options would be nice.
more user friendly if you can edit the cat. on the recipe so that the shopping list is already sorted when u add the items, and maybe a database of item names like "chicken" or "flour" that collectively stores any new item name users add from recipes so that the shopping list is less overwhelming when u add multiple recipes. ex. instead of 3 lbs chicken being listed 3 times, will show Chicken, and and ability to tap to show ingredient listing. select multiple categories like tags. i have ideas.
I tried this app to sync calendars and make lists with my wife, but Outlook wouldn’t connect. I exhausted all troubleshooting steps—reinstalling, starting fresh, and following their instructions. Nothing worked. I reached out to support but accidentally left out an attachment. After correcting it, I heard nothing for days despite follow-ups. Without Outlook integration, I can’t fully use the app
I use the free version to share lists - shopping, to do etc - with my wife. Works a lot better than using paper lists or messaging each other. I have only marked a 3 because a month or two ago the shopping lists stopped working properly. When searching for an choosing an item it now duplicates and adds as a new item so you need to sort it again.
Shopping List glitches. We have used this app for years and liked it. But recently, the shopping list glitches. When you start typing to add an item, it creates a whole new entry target than just unchecking the item tithe entered previously. We have so many duplicates now. And when it pulled from previous entries, it works put it back in the order that it was previously listed in. Now the new entries all go to the top. I want my items in order. TLDR: it's harder to use now.
Use it for shared calendar and shopping list. A prior update broke the shopping list, but eventually they fixed it. Now it's broken again, it randomly re-orders items on my list, which makes it pretty useless unless I want to constantly scroll up and down in the list. dropping one more star.
Well it's been almost a year. We still can't assign sounds to events. This would be a great addition! 8-16-25 Great calender app, REALLY NEEDS AN OPTION FOR NOTIFICATION SOUNDS. I end up missing some events, not because of the app itself, I'm just busy and forget. I would love an option for adding notification sounds for certain events. 9-21-24
Love using this platform for a split family household. Unlike the other parental apps, it allows multiple people to have access, not just parents, but step-parents, children, and grandparents also. Once 1 person pays the membership fee, nobody else in the family has to pay to use the app. I mainly use the calendar to see who picking up the kids on which day. I like using the documents for school grade report cards and/or extra activities tracking.
This app made communication within the family so easy! now we're more aligned on upcoming goings-on. Personally, my favorite feature is the meal planning option, I've never consistently stuck to planning our meals very long, but this one just works great for me, its simple to input my ideas for dinner and you can add as much or as little detail as you want to keep for the future. I've also never had any glitch or issue with the app itself.
I love this app and wish I could give it a 5. Unfortunately it doesn't always sync properly between all my family members. We almost all have Samsung phones and do all use Google calander. With some of us we can post an appointment on either and everyone will be able to see it. For others, no matter what we do it won't show up. I'm very tech savvy and have scoured all their settings. Everything seems in sync. No idea what is happening.
you need to fix the back button so when i click on it after opening from widget ...i can go to to the home screen where the lists and meals and everything else ...without having to close the app ...or add a shortcut button .. that is extremely annoying. Overall I like the simplicity of the app. this issue seems to only be when i open the app from the widget though.
I've tried 3857 different ways to get my family on the same page. 4 adults and 2 teens. this is the ONLY THING that has worked for us!! it's also how we keep track of christmas/birthday lists. the individual can add things all year long, and before their birthday, we remove their access to it. now everyone else can see what they wanted and delete what they bought, with no duplicate purchase. THIS APP IS A MENTAL LIFESAVER!! Well worth the annual subscription.
We have been using this app for over 2 months and it is wonderful! Keeps everyone's schedule up to date and all the things in order. We love the lists feature. Being able to update the shipping list so hubby and I both have it right at our finger tips is so handy! The premium version integrating with Google calendar is so nice so our "bills" calendar is on there and gives notifications when they are due. Also the premium version having a meal planner is top notch!! Love that! Such a nice app!
It's convenient, and it has a calendar. It's kind of a multi-app. It synced really well when my ex-wife and I were both using it. Fast to load and doesn't contain an annoying amount of ads. It actually contains very few. Doesn't crash and is reliable, easy for the most part. Has a REALLY limited amount of product types that are stored in the app. That's annoying. Won't sync with Gmail calendar unless you upgrade to paid version. If you want to pay for an app, there are definitely better ones.
