So here's my take on the FEMA app. I've tested a bunch of emergency prep apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The alerts are super useful for staying on top of potential hazards in your area. And the guides for building an emergency kit and making a family plan are really comprehensive without being overwhelming. The only downside is the alerts can get a little annoying at times, but you can customize the locations so it's not too bad. If you want a one-stop-shop for disaster readiness, this is worth checking out.

Description

Been using the FEMA app for a couple months now. It’s basically a disaster preparedness tool that gives you real-time alerts and info on how to get ready for emergencies. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you can do – there’s a section with alerts from the weather service and emergency systems. You can add up to 5 locations to get warnings tailored to your area. It’s got a bunch of guides too on how to build an emergency kit and make a family plan. Took me a while to figure some of that out but it’s actually really useful.

Look, if you want to be more prepared for things like hurricanes, wildfires, or other disasters, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the alerts can be a bit spammy sometimes – but overall it does a good job of giving you the info and resources you need.
