Worked well when it was actually working; first week or so was very handy, had some extra features my default file manager didn't, but since then has been unable to move, copy, or unzip files. It tells me "memory full" whenever I try, despite also saying that i still have +50gb of memory available. Tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc, but now it's functionally useless.
Reviews for File Commander Manager & Vault
← Back to File Commander Manager & VaultI've used this app for years as a way to manage the files on my phone. Easily allowed me to delete unnecessary files in order to maintain memory. Today when I tried to open the app, I got a "premium mode" ad that I couldn't exit out of without paying. I've never used any of the premium features, so I've never been interested in the paid version of the app. Positive experience overall, but it's a shame things end on a sad note.
would be a potentially great app if they didn't choke you non-stop with pop ups trying to get you to pay $30 to remove the ads & pop ups. great business model! make people hate your product then expect them to pay for it. geniuses. NONE of the useful features are available in the free version. you have to pay to use ANY OF THE FEATURES. TOTAL SCAM.
So far it's pretty good. There's a couple things I wish you could do and a couple I wish it didn't do. Going to email the dev about it all here shortly. I decided I was going to buy it but when I went to my jaw dropped. A subscription??? Really?? At $30/month too boot? Really sucks. Guessing it's for the cloud service that's built in??? What about offering the app sans the cloud storage for a much smaller price point? I'd be willing to pay at least $5.99 for it.
Does the job I suppose. However I uninstalled it because of way too many nags. Notifications about updates(Really, a tool like this should just work, I don't need notifications from every simple tool about every update that doesn't change much), and I got nagged about upgrading to the paid version at least 3 times in one short session of looking for one file. I don't mind paying for an app if it's decent, but this was just obnoxious and makes me never want to pay for an app that does this!
Over all simple, and works very well, regardless of which application is used. Very handy in moving file between different storage area on the phone and the different cloud services. A pleasant surprise is the ability to view and extract zipped files. The new feature to secure\encrypt the file works well!! Very well done!!! The availability of it's own cloud, is confusing!
Absolutely THE BEST File Management application available right now and I've tried them all! There's not a single thing that I can find that I dislike about it. Overall, just a solid app all around! With this file manager/explorer from the team at MobiSystems, you can do it all... Uses very little resources and that combined with a vault, compression and extraction capabilities, this is not your average file manager! To all of you @MobiSystems, Thank You for all your hard work on this! 🤘😁
Still among the best. I had to drop it a couple stars though. I will update it back to a 5 if these 2 issues can be fixed. 1. I purchased the premium package quite some time ago not only to remove ads but to support the author. It now constantly harasses me to subscribe,. I do not want a subscription. I do not need yet another cloud storage.I want a way in the premium version to turn off all references except one place in the main menu to turn off subscription references. I would be happy to pay an additional one time cost to add new features that are useful to me. 2. I cannot find an easy way to connect file commander to my google drive. Google drive is not my go to cloud storage but I have several apps for which that is the only option. If it is there it is not obvious like the Box and Dropbox integration. I still highly recommend this app. I would like to be able to move it back to five stars soon.
This file manager is very useful for me. I'm big into game emulation and this app lets me move my files, convert files, extract files, compress files and have many other useful tools at my disposal. A good file manager is a must have for customizing the way your various emulators and games work with each other. File Commander is a great product. There is a subscription fee to get all features. If you need a really good free file manager go with Zarchiver. But if you need a little more use this.
I have installed several file apps, only to uninstall them. I was skeptical of File Commander initially, as it has been months of countless disappointing downloads. I am reporting a 5 Star rating! The ease and navigation of this app is great. The file I have been attempting to locate, rename and access was one click away. OUTSTANDING! I will recommend this app and look no further.
Excellent. It's easy to use. I use it to save documents, music, and photos on an SD card mounted on my cell phone and on my l laptop. It's fast, and I can quickly copy data from my internal drive to the SD card, I can set it to automatically save files directly to it. I subscribed at the same time as I did Mobie Office Suite. I highly recommend it.
Can't start it without saying "no, I'm not paying your unbelievably high annual fee". Has some bug where you can never, ever replace a file with one of the same name. it will always refresh back to the replaced file. I am not certain as to the extent of this bug but the display for my png files are different than three other browsers/viewers that I am currently using to verify what the photo "actually" looks like.
This is one of very few apps I did not regret subscribing two. Although I wouldn't say it's for everyone, I personally do a fair amount of job related work from my phone, the access to my files, documents, photos, etc between my PC/Phone is a must for me. The app has other useful features though that I've used once or twice, like converting file formats... Not sure if this is available for free or not but I do not have any complaints since getting the subscription & will continue to subscribe.
UPDATE: After dev's reply, I stick by my words. ORIGINAL: So chock-full of ads that it's really difficult to use. Every single launch, you'll have to get past an ad before you can do anything, and (unless it's part of the factory bloatware your device came with) when you try to exit, you'll get trapped in a game they want you to buy. I got tired of killing it in the app list to escape evey time I was done with it, so found a way nicer file manager by doing a search at "alternativeto" dot net.
Annoy as all hell that you constantly have that pop up ad to buy your premium add on literally every 3 seconds. For that reason alone I am uninstalling this app. You should be able to to see hidden files without having to upgrade as many other apps offer this for FREE....hello...this is not 1962!! Lol. Get with the program kids. Otherwise I would gladly accept your application minus the annoying pop-up guy that really needs to go! Please....
Great way to organize your files and data on phone. Makes for ease of navigation. It was well worth the purchase to remove ads, originally. I just reviewed my bill, and after years of use, they have started charging twice what I was paying annually. I have used this app since 2016, but I won't let it renew next year. Loyal customer leaving.
I am beginning to use File Commander more comfortably after some trial and error. It allows me to access my files in several cloud locations and move them about freely. The more I use it, the more I appreciate it's capabilities. The commander appears to be in constant development for improvement. I have tried many file utilities, and it seems like the best for me. Keep up the good work!
This version of File Commander dose everything it supposed to do and generally dose it very well. That is: only is you buy the Premium upgrade. Trying to do anything in their "free" version is an exercise in futility; not to mention the inordinate # of ads some of which last up to at least 30 seconds. The free version is a joke and I can't imagine anyone deciding to upgrade to the Premium version because they were enthralled by the free version.
I'm fine with paying a one time fee for an app, but $30 a year for a file manager. That's ridiculous. Especially since I don't want cloud storage. Just a way to manage files offline since Samsung's built in one is always breaking. You can't even use this app before it starts showing you popups for a subscription trial. No thank you, I'll put up with the built in app first.
Okay so I have to give this one hell of a rating.... I had my ups and downs and thoughts about it's abilities at first, especially since it was recommended by another app that I ultimately did not trust until now. Mainly because of the fact that that's what malware does to your system, especially when somebody is using it to RPC and control the data that you see on your phone, laptop, etc. I want to say thank you 🙏 it saved my gear, socials, in progress dev projects and music career!!
