AVOID THIS BRAND - The camera and the app simply cannot provide me with the footage recorded in a watchable format. The TS files will not play in ANY video player on my phone and even those saved to the phone and opened in the Fitcamx app are jerky as hell and really frustrating to watch. Th Uniden in my other car has zero issues and was half the price.

The app is trash. Or I guess you could say the networking the app relies on is trash. I'm an IT professional with 7 years of experience and it took me an hour and a half to get video on an SD card. It expects you to format this with Windows so the SD card layout is an MBR partition table, with no partitions. And if the file system either needs to be fat32 or exfat Good luck getting your Wi-Fi to connect and stay connected. About what you'd expect for discount Chinese tech.

I like the app, but you have to open the app frequently and connect in order for the camera to sync the current time. Everytime I want to download a video, everything is out of date and it takes forever to find the video that was recording a few minutes ago.

Far from perfect, but it does the job. A Sometimes a bit slow to connect, but after you're on the camera's wifi network, it works ok. Would be better if the app could force my phone to connect to the dashcam for sure. Caching the camera's data could significantly improve user experience plus the app could take some UI tweaking as well, but most of the negative reviews I'm reading here are either based on a different model than what I have, or just user errors.

The hardware looks seamless and video quality isn't bad. However, if I knew beforehand how terrible the app is, I would have not bought this product. Hardly connects, very slow, weird watermark info with time that can't be changed. This reminds me of an app I used before but to be honest it almost looks and feels like a plagiarized version that's not done right. I would say the app is far from ready so if that's a big deal for you buy a more reputable dashcam so you get a better app experience.

I wish I never would have ordered this camera. The camera itself is great, it's the app that is terrible. Takes forever to connect with your phone. Whenever I go to download a video, it gives me an error. If my life depended on downloading a video for evidence in a crime or wreck, I would be screwed unless I take the micro SD card out and put that into a device. You can not download videos from the camera to your phone.

The app has been abandoned. No new features. It be nice if they would add continuous record with no time limit. You can only record every 1 to 3 minutes. The amount of time it takes to come back on after recording for 1 to 3 minutes can cause you to lose footage. It's not a "real" dashcam until you can record constantly.

Pretty good app so far. I have FitcamXs in two different vehicles, and there are extra steps involved with switching between the two vehicles within the app. If the two cameras were listed on the opening screen of the app, it would be five stars.

Great picture quality but I really dislike not having access to recordings on the app without being connected to the camera with the car on. I really just want to review footage which is impossible outside of the vehicle and c away from the camera.

Connecting to the app requires the camera's wifi which can be difficult to connect to, and sometimes, impossible to connect to. Android Auto and Apple Car Play make connecting to the app even harder since those connections interfere with FITCAMX. Those aren't going away soon so FITCAMX needs a better solution than "turn off Android Auto/Apple Car Play".

I see lots of folks complaining about "the software doesn't have this feature or this other." I've had several cameras over the years, with all the bells and whistles, and never touched them after the first couple of days. This streamlined setup is my favorite. No needless chimes, lights or distracting LCD monitor & logos. No voice features, Blutooth, GPS ,or Ninja backup lines, but it does have a seemless setup and file recovery. 99.9% of the reason you want a dashcam in the first place.

The app is absolutely horrible. The back button doesn't work so you end up stuck in the app. It's slow to connect. And it seems to be saving new recordings to previous recording files. I checked a video that said it was from an hour prior and it has the current recording in it.The camera itself is clear and fits well.

The camera's are great, it's the app that is horrible. Worked great for the first 6 months, then all of a sudden the camera's just stopped connecting to the wifi. Tried everything but nothing works! Extremely frustrating!!!

The app is pretty basic, it connects to the dash cam and allows you to download videos. I am very surprised it doesn't store location data to then sync with the videos. it would make sense for it to use the phones gps to track speed and location as an option.

I love that it ties in with the mirror assembly, the down side to the design are the position & size of the indicator lights, the power & reset buttons, the position of the micro SD card & how you view photos & no delete all for photos. Another problem is I can't stream music while the camera is in operation. YES, I want a set it and forget it camera, now I don't know if it is operating or OFF. I got so frustrated with the app that deleted it. I won't recommend this app to no one.

Can't get the app to connect. I tried hard to get past this without results. Phone is a Pixel 6a. Android version 13. Phone can connect to the camera's Wi-Fi hotspot. App will not actually connect to the device. Have tried with mobile data on/off. Wi-fi connection is set up to stay connected even though there is no internet. No luck even after trying many times. You can pull videos off the camera without the app by pulling the SD card from the camera and viewing the files directly.

The app is pretty basic. It's fairly slow to connect to the camera, and the clip filing system could be better. My biggest annoyance is renaming the camera WiFi name, as it keeps reverting to the cryptic default name, along with resetting the camera language to Mandarin. Every. Single. Time. The instructions say to power cycle the camera, but that doesn't work. It should also have Bluetooth connectivity. I may discard the app altogether and just use the SD card if I ever need to save videos.

Does what's advertised. Allows you to look at live feed and saved videos after connecting to its broadcast WiFi. If you have a video you specifically need, I recommend removing the SD card and using the USB adapter on a PC. Download speeds are slow but that's expected with high res video formats. If you're worried about privacy, uninstall the app after you do initial setup. Camera will still work just fine.

All my footage is gone. Card formatted itself. Tried reaching out to customer service and after a week of back and forth and 6 times saying 'all files are gone' they keep trying to explain to me what loop recording is. I'm so disappointed that for the cost of the device, that this is the service I get. Also: -The app is terribly slow. -Videos take forever to just load. -Downloading a 1mn video clip can take several minutes. I would shop around more next time. 😕

App is extremely difficult to use on a Pixel 9 Pro XL. I have the 3 buttons across the bottom of my phone for navigation as opposed to using gestures. On this app, I can't swipe from the bottom to access those navigation buttons. I also can't use the back button at the upper left of the app. It doesn't function on my phone. When you open a recording to watch it, it's impossible to exit or back out of it. Fix navigation on the Pixel 9 Pro XL and I'll give it 5-stars.
