Just had my account permanently suspended for no reason. They claimed that their "system has identified purchasing activity from this account, and was enhancing sellers' ratings". I had only bought for one seller 3 months ago, and I've only sold twice from the same gig a month ago. I contacted support and they said they could not reactivate my account, and couldnt provide further detail, due to the privacy policy. It's very upsetting and unreasonable since I did nothing wrong. waste of my time.
Reviews for Fiverr – Freelance Service
I thought it was going to be a great experience, but less than five minutes after creating my account, it was disabled for violating the terms and services, even though I had not even used my account. The literal single thing I had attempted to do was add a profile picture, and I don't even know if that worked. I contacted customer service, who replied and informed me that my account would remain disabled for whatever term or policy I violated, which I am still unsure on. Very frustrated here.
The app itself is easy to use, and the platform is useful if you're searching for products or services. It's absolutely abhorrent if you're trying to grow your business. I tried to set up gigs offering research assistance (and not offering to write any papers or anything of the sort), and without having the chance to modify my gigs to the correct standards, my account was disabled. I will never use this service again.
I love Fiverr, but the app itself isn't that good. It's useful for just exchanging messages between buyers and sellers just like the website, but all the other functions and features are far worse on the app or removed entirely. It's harder to see a sellers gig page or make purchases on the app, there's no Home button, dropping internet speeds will lock the app, and uploading attachments is much worse, as it takes you to a separate page do that. At least the app is ad-free, so that's a positive.
I'd give it 4+ stars if it wasn't for their pricing model. They make you buy credits (called "connects") to apply to jobs. It's not bad to make sure that only people truly skilled and interested in your posting apply. BUT what's absolutely awful is that you have to pay 12-16 "connects" per application, so that's around $2-3 per application, regardless if it pays $10/h or $100/h or fixed rates. It's horrible. They should set a limit, like spend $100 until you get a gig. AND they take 10%.
I've used Fiverr for a while now, and for the most part it works fine. The problems are mostly for sellers on the service. If a person asks you to do something more or different than what your gig offers and you have to cancel, you will be penalized unfairly. Customer service can not/will not help you, you just have to take the penalty and slowly work back up to your previous level. Fiverr was created for buyers, sellers do not have the power.
It's a good service but I have some minor complaints. 1) Lots of scammers in there. 2) When you place your order there are these additions you can tack on for more money. 3) When the service is completed Fiverr asks you to rate the seller and sometimes the quality of the service takes time to determine - for example I ordered an ad to be made and I won't know how good the ad is for a little while. 4) Fiverr asks you to tip the seller. Not a huge fan of that. Build the tip into the price.
This app requires too much for just the application process for becoming a seller. I couldn't even complete it because of how laggy and horribly glitched the website was. And even when I put my correct information and phone number, it wanted me to add more and couldn't verify my number, causing me to have to wait 24 hours until I can try again because I had too many failed attempts.
For a tech company this is a very subpar app. The communication is disorganized (broken into different chats) and the delivery is a nightmare to download. You can download 1 file at a time (imagine 10+) and often times it's super slow and incomplete. I thought they needed time to improve, but it's been like this for years now. They're very good at collecting money, especially insane fees on the tip amount.
I used to love fiverr. Now, I can't even add a title to my gigs. I get an error saying the title can only include letters and numbers and that's literally all it has. Customer support is non existent and chat service is a bot that doesn't know anything. Fiverr gets an outrageous amount of money from sellers and buyers and should have the funds to maintain their site. That I can't make edits in the app is dumb too.
