Description
Been using Flashnote Derby- music notes! for a couple months now. It’s basically a game where you have to identify different music notes to race your horse to the finish line. Pretty solid app if you’re into learning music theory and reading notes.
Here’s what you do: you get these timed flashcard-style tests where you have to quickly name the notes that pop up. There’s also an option to play the note on your instrument instead of just tapping the letter. And you can customize which clefs and note ranges are included – took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful.
Look, if you’re into music education apps, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades take forever at higher levels – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on Flashnote Derby- music notes!. I've tested a bunch of music learning apps and this one's pretty good. And the gameplay is addictive and it actually helps you get better at reading sheet music. The customization options are a nice touch too. The main downside is it can get a little repetitive after a while, but if you mix it up with other practice it's a solid tool.
