Reviews for Flexcar

@$#%@# flexcar. The only location in the Boston area is 1.5 hours away by car. And there's no other options if you just want to return your car. So returning the car will cost you 50 miles in mileage because they don't credit for returns. And then the cost of the lyft car getting back. Used to be a pretty good option...now they ssssuuuuuuuuccccck. Just don't do it.

Flexcar was ok a year ago but now this is the worst experience I ever had with a car rental service. Flexcar will be fine as long as they can price gouge you. They will change the rules and on fees without warning. If you try to ask questions they'll cancel your membership and take the car at 3 in the morning.

The app won't register my address at all during sign-up. When I attempted to contact support through their AI chat, they apparently haven't paid their bill and the AI only returns an error saying to upgrade the account. Really sketchy start. I don't think I'll be going with this company.

I enjoyed past experiences but now I'm unexpectedly without the use of a vehicle because The "Billing"& "Engineering" teams aren't agile. After 6weeks of support tickets being "escalated" to nowhere and no way to adjust or pause any of the "automated" tasks designed to "automatically" charge my card, the Support Supervisor and I were given the "Engineering" Team's tone deaf solution: For me to pay Flexcar an additional $800 just to "prompt" the app to "display properly." This is unacceptable.

There are a lot of bad reviews im scared to even try it especially if they keep changing their policies and adding on fees and taxes in each state. Soon as inflation is done things go back to normal maybe I will try it and they have cheaper rates and more mileage. Concept is a great idea but I noticed Greed will always Win with these companies. Yearly subscription is ridiculous never trust a company with a subscription. App seemed to work fine when I downloaded it.

As a person who had to get this vehicle for personal use, I can personally agree that my experience has been decent. The car I used was amazing ran smoothly and the maintanence was great I did have to had some coolant designated for the car but pass that amazing. The ONLY 2 cons I had was: pricing for mileage and the price increase for everyone (even though it is understandable). Often I was too worried to drive it to places in long distance due to the mileage pricing, which is why I am done.

My experience has been very worthwhile... I'm guessing they fixed many of the app complaints because my experience was easy. I knew I'd have an off day from work on Wednesday, so when I found out about them on Sunday I scheduled my car. Location showed up earlier than Wednesday so I was able to get the address and plan my Uber to get close to the appointment time. When my time came, the app allowed me to unlock the car and it told me where the key was placed. Just that easy!

I returned a car in 2 weeks when on a 500 mile plan. I had only used

Trying to swap the car because of tire issues. Can't do it in app, can't do it on the website. Customer service advise me to clear all data, then uninstall and install the app. I have tried clearing data in the app, uninstalling and installing the app three times now. Are you guys trying to get me to return the car so that I have to pay another deposit? Just so you know, I will be riding on four donuts before you get another deposit out of me. Please fix this asap. Do what you CLAIM TO DO!!!!

Flexcar is a great idea, drive a car without owning, but they aren't quite ready for prime time. The app is buggy, they'll give you a "non smoking" car that smells of smoke, and they'll make you add your spouse as additional driver, requiring re-entry of all information each time you reserve a car.

Joined Nov 2024. Experience 3/5. Pros: Maintenance & insurance included, like-new cars, no contract, no upfront cost, pay, drive and go Cons: High fees, poor Georgia csr support, out of service phone, few hubs, 3% card fees, rising prices, weak rewards, 7-day service response time in app, free car wash only during maintenance, unauthorized mileage charges, costly to drive far, and car swaps not free.

told me I was approved an I can get a discount then when I got the money to order the car they said I wasn't approved told me too contact support then would tell me how they would contact me back az in phone email texted

Very good idea but cars can only be shipped to a location where there's a Flexcar--Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte, or Boston. It's a $449 fee to have a vehicle shipped to the location nearest you. Cars can only be picked up at one of these four locations. They didn't try to spread the locations throughout the country. The good thing about this is you're paying the monthly fee for the car and insurance to them. You're not responsible for any maintenance.

I love flexcar, they get you into a basically new car and you don't have to pay anywhere close to what you would buying a car that's only a year old. They cover all the maintenance, roadside, and insurance is included, I haven't found another company that does all that and long term it's WAY cheaper than my lease was. Can't recommend them more !!!!

Not worth it! First car, tire pressure was low and no way to exchange, had to fill up tires myself more than once. Second car, is in need of oil. They misrepresent what they are renting/selling. They block out days and times on the app so you are unable to return "anytime" as they so propose, even with 5 locations; no times availableto return for 3 days. Then charge you for another week since you are unable to return within the same billing week.

First time using this company and not starting off well at all! App doesn't allow you to check in. Emailed the requested photos and still haven't gotten a response to unlock the car. I called the toll free number twice and after waiting on hold over 20 minutes, it goes to voicemail! All the emails I've received said support would be available during my check in time. I'm standing in a hot sun parking lot with no help!!

They have the worst service. First of all, they put a block on my card because they were unable to verify my CVV. My bank told me everything is fine with my card & that the issue is with the Flexcar portal. Upon contacting the Flexcar customer service, they asked for my sensitive information in the email. And yet, they have been unable to resolve the matter. DO NOT USE this app unless absolutely necessary!

CAUTION FlexCar is only good if you're in a pinch or jammed up. Like maybe you don't have the best credit, can't get an auto loan, or don't have enough for a down payment with a better leasing company. They just instituted a fine of $50 a month for a "low driving score." They use a system that not only unfairly scores you, but inaccuratly as well. And once scored in the "Risk Zone," it is exceedingly difficult to get out of it. Meanwhile, their customer service could not give less of a fudge

Decent app. Systems may need improvement. Biometric login would be nice. It would be great if the car is at the location for the app to be able to note that. Human schedules change and it could really help if pickup could be, say 2 hours earlier. Once the car is ready to be picked up, notify us and enable it to get it. 10 minutes is just too small.

I overall really enjoyed my experience with Flexcar. I needed it to be a stand in to get me to work, since some jerk had totaled my car. So while I was researching which cars to get, I needed wheels and flexcar was their for me. One downside ( hence 4 out of 5 stars) is the milage counter which can get pretty expensive if you drive vast distances to get to and from work. Other than that, a pretty great experience so far.
