Description
Alright, so I’ve been using Flip Sampler for a couple months now. It’s basically a mobile music studio where you can import your own sounds or record stuff straight from your phone’s mic. As soon as you record a new sound, you can start playing it on these cool drum pads and even map it out on a keyboard.
There’s also a bunch of effects and editing tools to shape your sounds however you want. You can record performances and the app will let you add automation and do all sorts of fun stuff. It’s got a piano roll view too where you can get really detailed with the notes and velocities.
Look, if you’re into making music on the go, you’ll probably love this app. It’s not the most complex one out there, but it does the job pretty well. There’s a few quirks here and there, like the automation can be a bit finicky, but overall Flip Sampler is a pretty solid little music studio to have on your phone.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take - I've tested a bunch of mobile music apps and Flip Sampler is definitely one of the better ones. The workflow is super intuitive and it's easy to just start making beats or recording stuff. And compared to some other options, the effects and editing tools are pretty robust without being overwhelming. It's not going to replace a full-featured DAW, but for quick music production on the go, I'd say Flip Sampler is a great choice.
