Description
Been testing Floe for about three weeks now. It’s basically Tinder but for people who are really into sports and staying active. Instead of the usual dating app stuff about jobs and favorite Netflix shows, this one’s all about matching you with people who share your sporty interests. Pretty refreshing change of pace, not gonna lie.
The way it works is pretty straightforward – you swipe through profiles of other active people in your area. But here’s the thing: instead of just showing random pics, it focuses on showing what sports people are into. And you can filter by specific activities too, which is pretty handy. Like, if you’re big into running or basketball, you can find others who’re into the same thing. The chat feature’s basic but gets the job done.
Look, if you’re tired of matching with couch potatoes on regular dating apps, you’ll probably dig this. It’s especially good if you’re looking for someone to actually do stuff with – like hitting the gym or going hiking. Not perfect though – the user base isn’t huge yet, so depending on where you live, you might run out of matches pretty quick. But for what it is, it’s a solid alternative to mainstream dating apps.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take after using Floe for a while. I've tried pretty much every dating app out there, and this one's got a nice little niche going. The focus on sports and active lifestyles really helps filter out people who just put 'gym' in their bio but haven't worked out since 2019. Plus, it makes starting conversations way easier - there's always something specific to talk about.
But real talk - it's still growing. The app itself works fine, but the biggest issue is just getting enough users to make it really worthwhile. In bigger cities, you're probably fine. But if you're in a smaller town? Might be kind of dead. Still, I'd say it's worth trying if you're serious about finding someone who shares your active lifestyle.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Makes it super easy to find people who actually share your sports interests
- Way less small talk, conversations feel more natural and focused
- Clean interface that's not trying to do too much
- Actually shows active people, not just gym selfie collectors
Cons
- User base is still pretty small in most areas
- Might run out of matches quick if you're not in a major city
- Some features are locked behind premium that should be free
- Can't filter by multiple sports at once which gets annoying
