Works really well for my needs. I ended up purchasing the full version to export. There are a few adjustments that it could use such as adding coffee table, end table and kitchen island to the menu. Maybe a faster way to change the snap grid to free moving without going through the menu too. Overall, works great and would recommend! Edit: app creator pointed out the custom furniture! Also, adding the 5th star for how easily the plans print out - and in 3D!
Reviews for Floor Plan Creator
← Back to Floor Plan CreatorThis is really an impress app. Basic, simple yet powerful enough to create a drawing you can actually build from... and I'm not talk'n a chicken coop. I find I often use this phone app in place of my CAD program! When away from my main computer and have need to produce or change a house drawing.. Boom. Got the perfect tool right here on my phone. *Suggs to the creators... Would be "Very" helpful to have a better tutorial.. (narrated & more detailed) that could also be used as a quick reference.
I don't often leave reviews, but I LOVE this app. Is there room for more? Sure, but it covers SO much. I only use the free version, so there could be more on the paid that I don't know about, but the free version alone gives me everything I was looking for. The controls take a little getting used to and the undo button is a lifesaver, but the entire floor plan, sizing, and the size of the furniture is fully customizable once you figure out what you are doing.
I am designing a cabin shell and I wanted an app to do simple floor plans. This app is easy to learn, easy to use, and an absolute bargain for the one time full activation fee. Well worth it, even if all you plan to do is play with it. I would like to suggest fencing for the outdoor options, chain link, wire, wood, with gates.
Awesome sauce! I downloaded this app just to get an idea of what my current room could look like with a bigger bed. This app is so easy to use. And gave me a realistic view of what to expect. For anyone complaining about the prices to upgrade, please, its worth every penny. The cost is reasonable. The only critique I would give is the access of "object snap". I found myself needing to change that in the settings often. It would be convenient if it we're in the bottom tool bar for faster use.
I found this great app it was perfect for everything I wanted to do. I spent a good few hours making a layout and I get to the end to share it with a coworker and low and behold you have to pay to export it at all. Complete time waste. the controls are alright but do note unless you want to pay a ridiculous amount your just going to be making them for yourself. Yes the information that you do have to pay is present but not unless you scan the entire mass of text for it specifically.
I like this app. But its difficult to add a roof, there are few landscaping options, no options for the exterior of the house, adding a loft is also a pain. you cannot slope any of the main walls, only interior walls if you add them. You cant pick textures either, if you wanted to make part of the building brick for example, cant do it. I would also like the ability to add curved walls and staircases. Again, i do enjoy the app. But it is rather limited.
I used to really like this app. I used it for creating basic visuals of my roleplay world's. Creating various sizes, colors, shapes, and basic needs was easy!I can get proportional sizes! However, I come back a few months later at a lot of the time it won't respond to my touch when it's zoomed in. Trying to click on overlayed objects is a hassle, but not the worst. And it sucks even more that I'd have to pay $4 to save my work! I get wanting money for hard work but $4 seems like a lot for a pic.
I get having to pay for an export file, but I'm working on a project for a friend, trying to get ideas for remodeling, it doesn't allow screenshots in 3D mode, was trying to get his thoughts and opinions/ideas. Not good for what I'm trying to do, it's not terrible in some regards so far, except for doors, when I put a door on a wall, it makes the door the whole size of the wall, something not possible. I could see some people enjoying it, but don't recommend for serious floor plans.
Edit: I've had this asap for many years and I love it! They are constantly updating and improving it. I would love to see some more types for fences and be able to export as a .png with a watermark for free again, but otherwise it's amazing. Original: I think that when you clone something to a different floor, put it in the same place as original. I also think an outside layout, that we could edit, would be nice. Otherwise, it is great, though 3-D look is hard to navigate.
Love the app. It takes a little time to get used to how things work but really easy to work with. Lots of options for setting up a floor plan. Wish that they would add a few items such as: Dressers for bedrooms Washer and dryer, furnace/ac units (outside and window), hot water heater, and maybe a unit for the main power panel (breaker box, fuse panel, switch box whatever you call it.) And maybe a way to mark where electrical wires and plumbing pipes are in walls and floors. Great app for DIY.
Tried many apps to help me visualize room layouts and this one is the best, quick and easy to use with good controls! Ocnl size limits to items but there are enough item options that it isn't a problem, especially since you can name, color, tag, and add notes. Only a one time payment ($5 or $8) for mainly exporting, no subs. After my first review their team kindly relayed info to me that's already in the help section, so adjusting to 5 stars since they didn't call me an idiot (I would have lol).
It's good enough to get a basic layout done. What I don't like, is when you add in a wall to a room, none of the objects "click" onto it like they do to the room walls, making it difficult to place things. I also would like some kind of landscaping tools to layout an outside area or a back porch.
Great app!! Do yourself a favor and download . I'm an independent contractor . It's awesome to be able to easily make and share blue prints from my phone . People love it when I switch from 2D to 3D too , even when it's a super basic drawing . It doesn't replace the auto CAD software on my computer but works great as a solution for my phone when I'm on site !
I paid the small fee to unlock the full version. Think of it, things that are free have no value. So why complain the free version dosent give what you want! I am an engineer and have done more construction in the last 20 years than most. All I can say is this app is great for mobile. It would be helpful to underlay wall outline on lower levels of the above walls, color cabinets, couches, ect. Roof would be nice as well as some exterior things like hardscape, but not it's intended purpose.
Not bad for a free app. Even the full version at $7 USD isn't unreasonable. App could definitely benefit from a larger catalog of items such as bathroom sinks, corner and angled cabinets, countertops, vanity mirrors and wall lights, shower bench, etc. Also, as another reviewer noted, some version saving would be very helpful. Hopefully some of these can be incorporated into future builds of the app. Overall, reasonably satisfied.
Very good app for fine tuned planning. Tough to get a grasp on if you don't follow a tutorial, but lots of options for free. If you don't want to pay them for the "privilege" of exporting the plan YOU designed, just take a photo with a different device and transfer that data. Screen recordings show black, and screenshots don't work even if you're on your app screen. Resolution drop is a good price to pay for free planning.
Incredible respect for any app that lets you do everything you need for free nowadays. You do have to pay to get rid of ads or share plans, but it's a ONE TIME purchase. I downloaded the app just to make a basic floor plan of the house I'm moving into so I could plan out where to put furniture, so everything I needed was already in the free version. I still paid the $8 for the Full version just to support the devs. You guys are awesome.
Simple and great for simple tasks. I wanted to rearrange my garage and needed something to drag shelves, tables, and tools around to see if it would fit. I was quickly able to create a garage with all my items, which I then could drag around at will. I used the simple "box" tool for any items (tool boxes, chest freezer etc) that weren't in the library which doesn't make for much of a 3D image, but that's not what I use it for anyway. $4 or so gets rid of ads, and $8 buys the full app. A bargain.
Not bad but far from perfect. It needs a way to quickly lock a group of selected structural elements so that you don't break walls if you drag a new shape in slightly the wrong way. Especially when trying to make a layout quickly on a phone instead of a tablet. This is actually a huge problem. Photoshop style shape-tool toggles (add, subtract, intersect) would be huge. This, plus the lack of any way to do curved walls keeps me from using this app daily. Would definitely love these features.
