App needs work. I used it for street parking and the meter doesn't show updated time remaining unless I manually refresh the parking session. Also, the app defaults to max time and doesn't allow me to select less time, so I was forced to pay for max time. They should also add an option to extend meter time instead of having to let it expire and set up another session.
Reviews for Flowbird Parking
← Back to Flowbird ParkingMore like trashbird. Tried to use the physical meter but of course it was broken. So I had to waste time downloading an app and signing up for an account. Why they couldn't use a simple web page to pay by plate is beyond me. App requires an account and you need to add your mobile number for no real reason. App itself is overly complicated and unnecessary. It should be a few taps but they somehow made the app bloated, slow, and cumbersome.
Made me waste $0.85. That's worth a one-star review. I added a car, made it my primary car, went to pay for parking and it automatically, without warning, used a previously listed car instead of the car that I just added and made my primary car. It was not intuitive how to select my primary car even after I noticed there was a problem. Waste of time. Waste of money. Waste of resources.
For any apps that accept payments. They need to be 100 percent when clicking options that a payment will make it through. The retrieve and launch buttons on the map are near impossible to choose from. It's caused me to miss two payments so far that I have had to pay fines now because the payment didn't register in the app. Won't be using this app anymore until they fix it.
In 2022, the app failed 99.9% of the time. In 2023, it fails 100%. It always says the bank won't accept my card. I have tried several credit cards, and they all fail. While parking, I have called my bank, and they say there is not an issue with my card. I have contacted Flowbird, but their "solutions" don't help. In my area, Flowbird controls the meters, but I can't use them. I always have to go park in a private lot for $10. The app is costly/useless. I gave it one star. Should be zero.
Concept is solid; however customer service is bad AT BEST. I have been emailing them about the same problem and they have been slow to respond and then the response is the same every time. There's something unique about my situation; my credit card information hasn't saved, and they continue to tell me to do the original save card information thing. It hasn't worked for me, and I'm no longer going to be using credit cards to park and will just pay the meter because that's more convenient.
Update: now it doesn't work at all. Won't complete the purchase, and it's broken on my work and personal devices, so I know it's the app, not me. So we'll see if I get a ticket today. Keeps logging me out despite checking "stay logged in" box. Works okay once I get in but since I onlyuse the app when I don't have time to pay at the meter without missing my train, resetting every time I use it is annoying.
Needs work. It's convenient as in easy to understand and I don't have to keep change on hand, which may end up getting my car broken into. Relatively inefficient as we have to log in each time we open the app, we are not able to extend time (aka "feed the meter"), and having to look up the same parking spot from the beginning to add more time.
Niagara Falls Zone #2. Parking meter was busted so I decided to use the app. Why every city decides they need a different app is beyond me. I walk away, get to the restaurant, and try for twenty minutes to pay for parking, but after trying with two different credit cards, I kept getting the error "Your payment cannot be processed now, try again later". I go back to try another meter and wouldn't you know, by that time I had already received a $50 parking ticket. Thanks for nothing Flowbird!
Strongly dislike this app. Downloaded so we could park in downtown dover. created an account, but wasn't able to use it because it said my card needed to be approved? The app didn't provide anywhere for me to get my card approved. I'm not even sure what needed to be approved. Deleted the app, walked to the closest meter, and just paid there. It's not worth the time. It's faster to just find a meter and pay. ParkMobile is 10k better app.
App works as intended most of the time. However, the other day I received an error message saying it could not complete the transaction. I tried again and it worked. When I looked at my active sessions, I had two for the same plate, location, and time. When I contacted support, they told me "Once the transaction has been completed there is no way for Flowbird to cancel edit or refund the transaction." So be wary, if their app malfunctions, you may be charged twice and be unable to get a refund.
this app worked fine about 2 years ago, but I was charged twice for a single parking session through the app, and the kicker is, the parking kiosk wouldn't accept the app QR code so I ended up having to pay in person as well. After reaching out to customer service they said that they couldn't issue me a refund, but could look into fixing the QR code for me.
“The app worked at first, but then my payment stopped going through. Customer service told me to re-enter my payment info, which worked once, but the same error came back the next time. They suggested removing the payment method again. I told them I did this and it worked but I would need to continue to reenter my info each time and they told me that its probably due to my Wi-Fi and they couldn't offer me any more solutions.
One of the hardest apps to run thru. Customer service, if you can get them, did not help. And the option to get a call back doesn't work, no call back. Again, I'm calling and writing customer service about this app. Do yourself a favor and find the meter and use that. It takes Visa and Mastercard, and coins! If I could go lower than one star, that's where I'd put this app.
When it worked, the app was great. I could add more time on my parking, see my car in location to meters, etc. It hasn't worked right for over a year. Last year it was giving me error messages as I tried to use my card to pay but the amount was too little and my card thought it was fraud. I had to change to using PayPal. I then was suspended because of who knows why. I had to write them to get unsuspended. THEN it no longer works. I sat 4+ minutes of spinning wheel to finally give up.
Keep getting the error message "specific etickets platform is unfortunately unavailable for this city at this time. Please reach the local service" and the local version of the app (MPLS Parking) returns a different error message. Troubleshooting with customer service did nothing; they were stumped and couldn't help (not their faults).
The app has been completely broken for about a week. The last two times I tried to park, I got charged through Google Wallet without a parking session actually being initiated. In fact, the last time (just last night), it charged me TWICE without recognizing the payment had gone through. Then I tried to re-register my credit card without using Google Wallet, and it still failed (so the issue is obviously on Flowbird's side, not Google's nor my bank's), though at least that time I wasn't charged.
I downloaded this app because the kiosk itself wasn't working and kept canceling instead of printing my ticket. Turns out the app is just as bad. It can't even figure out my location. When I finally got to it myself, there were no parking locations shown for this area, even though I'm looking around and seeing them everywhere. I wonder if I'm going to get charged for the parking passes that got canceled...
The single most frustrating parking app, and app period I've ever had the displeasure of suffering through. So slow and lagging, problems logging in, problems setting up, problems trying to input a zone, problems taking payment. This was in an area with great 5G cell reception. I can't think of a single worse experience with any parking app in any city. If you're stuck using this app to park somewhere, I'd rather just pay the parking ticket. It's really that bad.
Update: No positive changes. It's only gotten worse. No way to end your parking early. this is a problem. otherwise I get notifications for parking I'm no longer in. should have no trouble doing this. it's 2025. a button at least to say I'm not parked anymore or end parking. something. And then refund the difference or something. it's literally not too much to ask for. There's many better companies out there for parking apps.
