So here's my honest take on Footpath Route Planner. I've tested a bunch of navigation and route planning apps and this one's pretty solid. The ability to just draw a path on the map and have it snap to trails and roads is super convenient. The distance and elevation tracking is also really useful if you're training for a race or planning a hike. The navigation feature is a nice bonus too. Not gonna lie, the maps could be a bit more detailed in some areas, and the app can get a little glitchy at times. But overall, it's a pretty good option if you're looking to plan custom routes for running, biking, or hiking.

Description

Been using Footpath Route Planner for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you trace a route on a map and it’ll snap to roads, trails, and other paths. Pretty solid app if you’re into planning out running, biking, or hiking adventures.

Here’s what you do: You just drag your finger around on the map and Footpath will follow the nearest trail or road. There’s also a feature to measure the distance and elevation – super useful for things like training for a race or planning a long hike. And you can get turn-by-turn voice navigation to follow the route you made. Took me a while to figure that one out but it’s a game-changer.

Look, if you’re into fitness tracking or planning outdoor trips, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the maps could be a bit more detailed in some areas – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.

Fabulous walking app for planning and checking your route. I have paid version for OS maps, which are extremely useful. It does have an annoying habit of guessing your route...
