This app is perfect for me. I love the way it is set up with not only great recipes but the shopping list and the prep guide. They even include reviews for each recipe. This makes it easy to tweek recipes and enjoy the recipes even more. I was very skeptical of vegan eating but the Forks over Knives app has been very helpful in making me want to do this.
Reviews for Forks Plant-Based Meal Planner
TLDR: It's not free, but amazing app. It's a subscription service with a 14 day trial. The app is great though in so, so many ways! I don't doubt it's worth 20$ a month if you dont have the time/will to do your own meal planning or just need to shake things up a bit on the inspiration front. The app is very usable and intuitive, I haven't tried any of the recipes yet though. Edit: tried it for a month, no regrets - yummy stuff indeed and helped a lot!
So so helpful! Just the grocery list creation alone is so time saving. Love the weekly suggestion that makes me try new things but also the option to add other recipes if I think one of them isn't for me. The only thing i would like is to be able to sort my favorite recipes into categories. Maybe that's possible, if so i can't figure out how... But just having one long list of favorites might get a bit tricky.
This app is very user friendly and has delicious meals. I love the grocery lists. They are so well organized! This app is awesome!!
Love this app. You can add your allergies, common ones only, and they will only show recipes you can make. Some even change the recipe so you can still enjoy it. Customizable for family size. Grocery list is easy to use and can add other items needed as well. I've been using this app for almost 2 years now! ♡
I love all the plant-based recipes! The app makes it easy and fun to shop and cook. Each meal is absolutely delicious and healthy. It has also been a creative outlet for me to make each colorful meal.
I want to love this app and use it but it's so glitchy it keeps on loosing the recipes that I save on my phone. I end up spending a lot of time trying to find ingredients and then when I look it up later it's gone.
Steak lover here, having to try plant based... I've been pleasantly surprised to find that each recipe I've tried has been tasty, even my kids are enjoying them. Serving sizes are huge! I love the ease of the grocery list by aisle and the prep work list that makes week day cooking under thirty minutes! As a T1D, I'd love it if carb counts were given by serving size (example: 1cup serving = 37 total carbohydrate grams) That would really help my insulin dose and blood sugar levels.
Update: I understand that you can click on those three dots and move things around. But it is a pain in the rear end. Using the website is 100% better then using the app. ********* The app really doesn't work very well. I've used the Android version and the Apple version, and neither of them work as good as just using the site in your web browser. For starters you can't drag and drop your meals between the different days of the week. And that is a big fat bummer. And, in my mind a deal breaker.
My family of five has been using the Forks Meal Planner website for over a year. The recipes have made it possible for us to live a vegan lifestyle, and to enjoy delicious food. I was happy to learn they just finished an app. I no longer have to print my shopping list and carry paper around the store. The app makes it easy to view this week's recipes as well as to search for additional ones.
