Purchased a fight that would not play. Tech support basically told me to log in and hit play which I was already doing. Past that they said there was nothing else I can do and no one I could be transferred to for additional help. They also stated that there was no refund to be given whether or not it would play. I asked if there was anything else I coul do and they just said to keep logging in and hitting the play button. This is horrible customer service. Comes off fealing like a scam.
Reviews for FOX Sports: Watch Live Games
← Back to FOX Sports: Watch Live GamesFor the purpose of actually watching anything on this app, you're better off finding a stream online. It takes forever to actually load. Any time you switch apps, the video breaks and you need to back out to the main menu and hope it decides to load again. Sometimes it will but when it's a critical moment in the game, it probably won't. Actually selecting the game you want to watch won't work sometimes. Terrible app. I watch the streams online more often than get this piece of trash to work.
The app is extremely difficult to navigate, you can't start watching a program until that program is already in progress (guaranteeing you'll miss at least a couple downs if it's a football game), you have to be on desktop if you want to watch a channel under the Fox family like Big Ten Network, and there's no Chromecast option. FS Go was fine. It's like Fox doesn't even want anyone to watch their programming
Terrible app. Incredibly buggy - if you're behind at all (watching a game that already started, for example) your only options are "Jump to Live" or "Restart." That's right. You can't go back. You can't fast forward. And if the stream glitches, like it did for me, it might just glitch out of full screen mode and - extraordinarily inconveniently - show the final score for the game you're still in the middle of watching. Awful app. 0/5 stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.
You can't watch live games for free and an app can always be better. So I give them a 3. I use it for checking the box score, stats and bios. It's usually good for that. On occasion they just leave a player completely out of the box score which is weird. You gotta kinda cross check it with another app. Otherwise I like it. Just short of a 4 because they forget players stats like they didn't even play in the game.
Fox responded to my last bad review to tell me to contact chat in the app. I tried but I was 2nd in line for over 20 minutes. Then when I thought it would connect, the game came on out of nowhere! Half the screen is dark, I missed most of the first half, and I'm still not happy... as a lions fan, I want to be able to watch my team actually winning while it lasts.
When a game is actually streamed, the quality is generally good. Unfortunately, we use this to watch UConn basketball on SNY (out of market) because Fox is their designated streamer. BUT... sometimes the app simply pretends a game isn't on when they aren't getting the stream from SNY, leading users to spend too much time trying to figure out what they did wrong -- when FoxSports was lazy and just didn't say that they aren't getting the game. Typical of the "customers don't really matter" folk
Major bugs with the app when trying to watch the games. It glitches and won't allow me to sign in to my provider. It often says "playback failed" and won't show the games. it has also told me a game has ended even though it is only a few minutes into the 2nd half. If the bugs would get fixed it would be way better because when it decides to work it is awesome.
Fox Sports was one of my favorite apps. I could watch replays of some of my favorite shows during my lunch break, like first things first and undisputed. Now you need two apps to even find content, then when you do find it you only get clips. Then I saw the podcast on the fox sports app only to find that the episodes are 3 months behind. I'll just DVR the shows and delete both apps complete waste of space.
I was trying to watch the playoff game, which is broadcast over the air for free on Fox, and the app said I had an hour of free preview, which as soon as I got a phone call (5 minutes in) and had to go back to the app, my hour preview was nonexistant and it was wanting me to sign in. Idk how you charge for a service you offer for free. I would understand if it was VOD or something extra, but with the amount of ads had to watch within the first 5 minutes, it definitely should be free on the app.
Fox Sports app continually stops in the middle of programming! It's one of the worst apps I've used. An Error message comes up: "You have exceeded your account limits for this service," and then I have to go back and choose the program again. And it will work for a while, then I get the error again. I have access thru my provider.. It's really irritating!!
It would be neat if the app actually complied with the notification settings. Set it to "mute all notifications for 24 hours", two hours later it sounds and tells me to catch Fox's 4:30pm NFL game. Hey, guess what, now you're getting your notification permission revoked on a system-level, because you can't play well with others. Tsk tsk.
Another massive corporation with a broken app. I'm reading an article and then an ad pops up that takes up my whole screen. I scroll about 7 screen lengths to find the end of it so I can resume reading. At the bottom it says "keep scrolling to continue reading" but underneath that is just more ads, the type that are always at the end of the article. So I literally can't read the article because the 7 screen long add is blocking it. Companies that are .01% the size of Fox have better apps.
Used to be a good app. The highlight of the app on Android & Firestick was the "Restart" feature on live shows. Why they got rid of this I have no idea! It was stupid to do so & as a result, I find myself watching more ESPN! Do better Fox, don't give us features just to take them away later! Not to mention the random "log out" on devices where I was signed in & NEVER actively signed out.
The no spoilers mode is not as comprehensive as it should be. The app showed me only one match from the first day of the world cup (today is quarterfinals), I went over to the schedule to try and watch the US match, and it showed the score plain as day, defeating the point of no spoilers. Also, the fact that this app doesn't have Chromecast support, but Fox Sports Go does, is pretty inexcusable.
One of the worst streaming apps available. Logins will say they've timed out or have been attempted too many times, when they work in other streaming apps. The lag and jitter is so bad sometimes that I just give up entirely when I am able to watch. I don't know enough technical/programming stuff to say why, or to feel comfortable saying it would be an easy fix, but every other top tier content provider (from sports to movies to TV shows) seems to have an exponentially better platform.
I've had this app for over a month now so I have another app to listen to sports podcasts. However it seems like the people that work on this app don't know how to upload podcasts on any kind of regular basis. I didn't expect to see full episodes of the show on the app but the least you could do is be more proactive in adding podcasts. With all the money and resources fox has as an entity there is no excuse for this.
They have made everything worse since switching from the Fox Sports Go app. You can't cast to TV, FF/RW through shows you restarted from the beginning, the video clips always get an error and won't let me watch, and the live sports news shows that I watch often don't even appear in the TV show listings. I've turned to watching ESPN and the NBA app because this app sucks so much. Also, i don't care that much about the World Cup. why does it have to fill up everything?
It is truly mind boggling to me that this app has no obvious way to search for particular sports or events. This wouldn't be as much of a problem if the pick my teams section actually included all sports and teams. I'm trying to watch Formula E, a racing series, but there is no way to add it or any of the teams to profile. Truly asinine. Also the chromecast streaming is buggy and awful. The app frequently disconnects from the chromecast.
Insane that they haven't managed to figure out how to make it so that users can see a running backs rushing AND receiving stats or a quarterbacks passing AND rushing stats without 14 extra clicks. Completely useless app if you're trying to do any kind of bet research, ESPN still blows it out of the water. Really doesn't seem like it would be a hard fix for their dev team at all, but here we are. Years into the project 🤡
