Solid browser, blocks ads. (12/12/2019) (2/9/2025) update: multiple years of using this browser later, and it now literally is no longer blocking pop ups and ads. I assume it will do so again if I get the premium version, but from the bottom of my heart I'd like to invite you to eat my entire a$$. it's called "FREE adblock browser, and it is no longer blocking ads for free. Uninstalling. I cannot reccomend it in its malware adjacent current state.
Reviews for Free Adblocker Browser:Adblock
I download this app a couple years ago because it was very good at stopping ads. I didn't have ads while browsing the web and it was so good. however recently they rolled in forced ads completely undermining the entire reason people got this web browser, and then constantly asking you to purchase a premium membership of this web browser so that adds go away.
I loved this app. For years I would listen to my music at night with no interruptions. Now my music stops within an hour because of an ad for a paid version of the app. I can understand that everything is monetized these days. But now it is unusable. I now I can't search anything because the screen gets distorted. Maybe it is my phone, but my tablet has been doing this, too.
it's wild. I started using it couple years ago, but now it's spamming the f out of you. it's so annoying and you can't even close their ads pop up without clicking on it. how ironic an ad block browser spamming you with their own ads. I used to pay 99 cents a month just to support them, but now I have to look for something else that's less annoying
altho im not a fan of all them ads coming up on the browser itself! since i think they block websites ads to replace them with their own, i think this app is not quite ready to be a primary browser, it malfunctions on some few moments, i still see ads on some sites sometimes, and i find it funny that with them errors i still get pop-ups of their premium when their app doesn't work right, but aside from that, it works if you ignore those ads they push to you, I'm just not convinced yet
for the past few months everything I open the app, all I get is pop ups to buy the paid version of the app and at times I have to close the app so the message goes away. very annoying. if this is the path, you need to remove the free part of the name. I will try back in a month if it still an issue bye
years ago it was great, occasionally asked for money but wanted a subscription. but it's been spamming ads for itself for a while now. but I finally gave up on it because the only way it blocks ads is by clearing all data, then it will block ads for a couple of weeks before letting them through again while spamming you to "upgrade"
I understand that the app needs to make money, so I'm ok with the occasional pop up asking me to upgrade. However, the app will redirect you to sites you have never been to and didn't search for. Once or twice I thought it was user error, but now it's pretty obvious this is intentional. This is very gray UX design to me that makes me want to find a new app. Also the bouncing gift is awful. Launching such a distracting feature for an ad blocker was a total miss.
Loved this app and have used it for many years. Mainly use it for YouTube but lately the functionality has changed: you can no longer watch in a mini player and most recently the sound has stopped working. Hopeful it's a temporary thing but right now I'll have to find another solution. Also for an ad blocker there are a lot of ads for it's own premium service
I've had this app for years and it does its job well enough but I've noticed over time it's started to push ads for their premium service more and more. It's gotten to the point where I just closed the app on accident and when I opened it up again less than a second later, it had taken me out of the tab I was on and opened a new one to advertise the premium service again. I understand needing to monetize but it just feels a bit much
