Reviews for Freebie Alerts: Free Stuff App

Fiore

UPDATED. Already contacted you prior and after this review and your response was not satisfactory "you will get the notification as soon as we scan free items". I used to get the notifications as soon as posted. Now it is not. Enjoyed the app without any problems until recently. I started getting 32 minutes delay in notifications of free items on offer up. And now 2 minutes delay for the rest of notifications. My question is is it because I don't pay? Or are there technical issues?

Love this app! It's addictive! Wow, how great it is to have all the free stuff together on one app with nothing else! Remember, "On the Freebie App an item cannot stay, if the owner of the item requires a price that you must pay." And it's helpful that the app gives its users the control to get rid of any ad that is selling an item instead of giving it away. Best Perk... having a search bar! What an awesome yet unexpected feature.

Easy to use & connects you to people who want to get rid of stuff. I give 3 stars though for a couple reasons. First, it could be put together better. The interface, search & everything else could all be done much better & much more accurately. Second & the more important thing to me, the scams. I mean the amount of blatant scams is crazy. They rarely seem to get removed & if they do they have multiple accounts that are exactly the same just a different name. There are so many of them.

You know how you see something FREE posted but it was like 5 hours ago so there's a bunch of people already interested or it's gone? Not anymore! You'll get an alert as soon as something posts - if you want. You can add a list of keywords and only get the alerts you are looking for. Set how close to home you want to see offers. You don't have to check FB, OfferUp, NextDoor... They're here & more! NO POP UPS! Just have an ad in the middle of a listing. Its not in the way. No videos. No waiting.

This is a great app. Some people trick the app by posting items as "free" or in free categories and then putting "contact me for prices" in the description. For the most part though, it has many great opportunities with people passing on to others things they no longer want or need without the hassle of haggling over prices. Just free to whomever can get there within the parameters of givers. The only negative is items can linger for literally years if no one goes in and marks the item as sold.

Best app to use to get stuff for free! The app sends notifications through to your phone when someone posts something for free on Facebook Marketplace, NextDoor, and Offer Up. It shows you how many miles away the items are from your location, so you're able to determine if you're able or willing to drive that many miles to pick it up before you even write the people. You just click on whatever you're wanting, and it takes you to the original site the post is on so you can contact the person!

Installed and instantly found a reading chair that was really nice. I like how it combined all the different apps with a free item hit, I just wish the app itself would notify you if they respond to your request to pick up. Since it doesn't you have to watch several social accounts for potential communication. Currently I can't remember the site for the headboard. 🤔 Other than that it's great. I like it.

I'm pretty happy with this app. it doesn't seem to cause any problems on my LG Stylo and I e managed to snag a few things for free because I saw the ad right away and responded quickly. it shows free ads from Facebook Marketplace, Craig's List, etc as they are published, so there must be some lag time, but it seems fast enough to me. I've had it for probably close to 6 months now and I don't feel any need to remove it. Settings allow you to have some control over when and where you see the ads.

Update: dropping to 3 stars due to the flooding of FB marketplace "free" estimates. I hope they can figure out how to filter out these annoying posts. excellent app! Gathers items tagged "free" from Nextdoor, FB marketplace and Offerup and puts them in one place. My favorite part is the "white list" so you can receive alerts when free items pop up. I've been using this app for just over a year and was able to pick up 3 flat screen TV's for my house.

Great that this app aggregates free stuff! The more we share and reuse things like this, the less goes straight to landfill! Save money, save the planet. Save time surfing the Free sections of your favorite websites. (Keep in mind that the app pulls the posts, but doesn't update the deletion of posts. You'll find that when you click a link that no longer works or item is marked Sold. But that means you can see what kinds of things people have posted in the past.)
