Reviews for FreeStyle LibreLink - US

The app is merely ok. Just the very basic functionality is there. Note to developers: include a way to zoom in into the graphs. The graph is so coarse. On the left hand side, numbers are incrementing by 50. I have no idea what the actual number is by looking at the line. Need the ability to zoom in. Also, the sensor is taking continuous readings, but on the graph I only see dots for the times I scanned the sensor. I want to see the time and reading as I move my hand on the graph.

I find this app very convenient and useful, as it eliminates the step of having to carry both my phone and the separate meter. I would have rated it a 5, but I'm having great difficulty sharing the results with my endocrinologist, despite having received an email invitation to do so. It seems to be more an issue with my phone (not listing the LibreLink app as an option from which to open the drivers) than necessarily with the app, but it does put a damper on what seems to be a great product.

Overall it's a good app, but there is room for improvement. First, the graphs could be more granular and being zoomable would be great. The glucose level jumps by increments of 50, so it's very difficult to tell whether the value is 120 or 135 when looking at the graph. Zooming would help this, but why not have increments of 10 instead? Secondly, it would be nice to be able to save or share the graphs and include the notes. Right now sharing the graph is basically just a screen shot. Thanks.

Like the app. easy to use. Wish I could send CVS reports to my email in order to analyze the data in detail. I never set up the sensor reader because it cannot communicate with the app on my phone, so unable to upload my data to my computer. I am disappointed I have limited options to analyze the data, but I do not want to carry around the reader.

Nice being able to scan without carrying additional pieces of tech. Downside is if you want alerts, you're back to having to carry the reader anyway because the app is NOT compatible with the version 2 sensors. Please make this a priority so I don't have to carry the reader along with my phone. The phone app is awesome except for this detail. And the "currently under FDA review" is getting old, it's been many months....I still use it and like it, as well as recommend it!!

Overall, it's a pretty good app. Scans and does the job well. My main complaint is the incessant notifications, especially when a sensor is coming close to ending. I dismiss the notification and it pops, at minimum, less than a minute later, up to 10 minutes later. My secondary complaint is the app attempting to scan when the sensor is nowhere near my phone. Doesn't happen a ton, but enough to be annoying.

Can't Believe The Technology Isn't Better!!! Have been using the Android app on my Galaxy since September. Works like a champ. THEN there is an emergency with the patient, my phone isn't available, so I have to go buy a reader. Turns out the reader won't read the sensor because it's already attached to my phone. I had to go get another sensor so it could be initialized with the reader, now my app won't work on the sensor. I just can't believe it is that restrictive. Better just buy the reader.

Pretty good and reliable. Sensors themselves are hit-or-miss (around 33-50% of them fail to start for me, and removing the 14-days-worth of adhesive along with the failed-to-start sensor is irritating, to say the least), but the app has debug/diagnostic codes so you can at least get an idea of why it failed, and the manufacturer has been pretty good about sending free replacements.

My phone auto pushed the Android 10 update and now the app doesn't work! Abbott is taking their sweet time fixing this. They had lots of time to do this prior to the update release and it's been weeks since. What is the issue?! My sensor is basically useless at this point bc I can't access the information on it easily. My reader doesn't always work and has been funky, I usually use my phone bc I always have it. I don't travel with my reader. This sensor is wasted money now. PLEASE FIX THIS!

I am fascinated with this app. It does way more than my scanning device, and I don't have to worry about carrying an additional item around. I love that I can bust out my phone at any moment and do a reading. So awesome!!! I truly am impressed with how much more I can do with my data as far as analyzing trends and logging information and details. It took FreeStyle a bit to release the app, but so happy they got around to it! ❤️

If you are thinking of using the Libre 2 and live in the US please consider a different device and manufacturer. The only way to read your data is to carry the reader around. The app is not compatible with the device and makes it even more of a pain to pull your data and review it off of the reader. After 43 years of diabetes I'm giving into the CGM side and this definitely makes me question my decision. I've only had it one day and so far found it more frustrating than useful. Since I can't pull data from the device I can't display sugars on my watch, I have to carry a new device on top of everything else, and all they can say is "the app is under FDA review" while more civilized countries allow the app. I wanted alerts for bike riding in particular but this is highly annoying.

Wish I could give more, but I just CAN'T!!!! First let me say that the Libre has helped me tremendously with keeping track of sugars and monitoring the pact certain foods have on them .My issues are related to the functionality of the software. I realized I had a typo in my email address that I set up the Libre App on. I went to update the address and it wouldn't allow me to. Because I forgot my password, I couldn't do so on the site either. There should be security questions one can answer.

I use FreeStyle Libre for many years. Just because it's less invasive than Dexcom. LibreLink used to have A1C report parallel to all other averages. After last update I've noticed it was removed. This makes the app much less useful. I used it for reference, it was never used for therapy decisions obviously. Now you have to sweat non-trivial calculations to arrive at the data that is already stored in the software.

Libre 2 is a problem even with the regular device. The sencors are not good. I have had 10 or more where they simply didn't work when put on, and customer service is a joke. Even the reading devices are short. Had to replaced twice in a year. This company should be more dedicated to quality and service. If you have a choice don't just accept this brand. Shop around for the best quality and company service and fit for you.

I only read about the first 600 pages or so of the application. It talked about agreeing to the fees and associated costs, but never how much or for what? You must be stupid to agree contractually to those terms. Sounds like a helpful product for tracking and safeguarding metered information, but it's too open ended in favor of the company only for possible unknown charges. Therefore, I'll make a record of my readings and not rely on this vociferous, onerous contract. Can't rate true, so zero!!

I've been using this app for well over a year since my doctor gave me a FreeStyle Libre 2 sample kit, but wrote my prescription for FreeStyle Libre 14 Day sensors. Oopsie, but not fatal to the my ability to monitor my blood sugar. I just don't have a "backup" reader, but from what I've read, you can't switch readers once the sensor is started, so it's not a big deal. My biggest complaint is that if you don't scan the sensor before it expires, the data is lost.

I have been using Freestyle Libre 14-day for almost two years, had no major issues until recently. Two sensors wouldn't scan at all after the 60 minute start-up. A third sensor, readings were way off (by 50-60%)for seven days, then stopped working. Reinstalled the app, no luck. After an hour on the phone with a polite gentleman who could barely speak English, they sent me one replacement which is also defective. Not looking forward to even trying to get a replacement for the replacement.

App was working for my pixel 3xl.... My sensor fell off after 2 days so I reached out to care and they mail me a replacement. I applied the replacement and now I can't use the app after the Android 10 update. I've gone days without being able to check my readings and now I'm stuck with a new sensor and no way to read it. I read some of the responses, to just go out and buy a reader... Well those cost more money so that's not an option for a lot of people.

Abbott doesn't really read this feedback, they only reply with a canned response that says you have to call them (useless barriers). Charts aren't very useful; there are minute by minute samples but you can't inspect individual values. You only see the values you scan, you can see the charts and trends; for the rest but you don't the actual values. Lots of vertical space wasted. It would be great to be able to zoom in or point to a place in the chart and see the value at the pointed place.

Readings work fine, but need granularity in graphs. I desperately want to know the exact readings the device made *between* the actual scans made by myself. App displays the curve, but won't let you pull any data that wasn't scanned (say, while sleeping). It's impossible to get an accurate number just eyeballing the graph. (The actual numbers have been logged - hence the graph data. Just not available to users. )
