I liked the prior version,It worked fine. I do not like the current version. You can not hold the button down to change the temp multiple degrees. You have to tap the button once for each degree you want to change it. You should be able to hold the button down and the temp count up or down one degree per second or so. Also, if you lose power, WiFi will not automatically connect. You have to unplug the AC for about 10 seconds once power is back on before it will connect to WIFI again. Toomanyupda

← Back to FrigidaireTerrible app. When opening the old app and logging in it asks to transfer to this one. Say yes and you have to log in again. Except that you I'd and password doesn't work. I even changed mine and still can't log in. But I can log in no problem to the old app. The new app also doesn't seem to keep me logged in ( when it was working). This isn't a banking app. Keep me logged in!
No longer supports my AC and there are no options to adjust the schedule I have setup using the remote or controls on the unit as instructed by the app. losing remote access via the app defeats the purpose and only serves as a deterrent towards future purchases of the brand. It worked fine prior to the recent update and there is no option to downgrade. Integrated with several "smart home" devices and now it's useless. Up to this point I was pleased with the devices.
The app worked in the beginning. Now it displays the correct information on the app, but won't control the unit. If I use the remote and change the temp for example, the app instantly shows the change. But if I set the change on the app itself, the change either doesn't occur or it occurs 15-20 minutes later. Wifi is good and I have also tried reconnecting the ac to wifi. That worked initially but quickly reverted to the same issue. Please fix!
Had this particular window AC for several years which I bought for the Wi-Fi ability. Upon installing this season, it seems to randomly not be able to connect to the new app and am greeted with error message "This model (FFRC0833RI) doesn't work with this app. You can keep using the appliance without the app. For instructions and FAQ, check the user manual." What a joke. A model being discontinued or older shouldn't break functionality. Googling shows I'm not alone in this situation.
I would give this a 0 if I could! AWFUL APP! It keeps disconnecting the a/c from my phone and my husbands and keeps saying to update it! I checked all the settings & have Uninstalled & reinstalled it several times. From reading the reviews it looks like several people are having this problem so why can't you fix it?! One reason we bought this was it had the feature where you could control it if you're not home! 2 VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMERS!
Most recent update broke everything...useless. was on 40 minutes wait for Chat; then told to call. waited 30 minutes only to be told it could take 72 hours to resolve. Can't add any devices. It adds something, but it isn't my AC. Have had this issue before with Frigidaire app. Update 7/1...please fix this app. I can now add all of the ACs in, but can't name them. Each time I rename it only changes the first device I added. All the rest say "Air Conditioner". For all of our sakes roll back.
This app sucks... First, every time I shut the app down, it forces me to go through the login process again... That's stupid ridiculous. And you can't change from C to F... Then, for some reason, my portable a/c stopped connecting to the internet. I ended up resetting the AC unit and now it won't let me add it back to my app because the old one is still there. I tried to delete it from the app but it won't delete and every time I try, the app crashes. So now I can't connect via app...
App worked fine for my dehumidifier until today, 30Jun2025. Ran all troubleshooting steps on multiple devices. Will not let me connect to the current device ("Unavailable"). Will not let me add it as a new device because it's already registered as a current device, ("Cannot register as new device"), And, there is no option to remove the current device from the app to start over. Ultimately get a "Service not available. Try again later." message, or the app force closes.
WARNING: Once you set an automated task, you cannot turn it off. that means if you set an auto on/off time, and go on vacation and want to turn the task off remotely, there's no way to do so. your air conditioner will turn on and off permanently without the ability to change it. The app just gives errors. Infuriating!
I just got a Frigidaire portable AC unit, and I was so excited to be able to hook it up to my Google home system... except that no matter how many times I try the Fridgidaire app won't connect to Google home. Based on most of the other reviews it seems that same issue, among many others, is also happening to pretty much everyone using the app. Its essentially digital trash! Maybe don't put fancy tech in your products unless you're actually able to provide proper tech support for it?
As 08/06/2025 this app was working fine with my Window AC unit Frigidaire 8K BTU until the recent "update" and then... almost everything went to the toilet. Now this app sucks 'cause I can't control my AC unit when I'm not at home. I can't set the schedule or timer and I can't even see what temperature is inside my Studio/Apt to set a point temp. I would like to rollback to the previous version but it's impossible! I'm giving 2 stars 'cause at least, I am still able to turn on or off my AC unit.
The app worked fine until 8/9/25 and when I noticed it no longer displays the correct mode, temp, and will not clear the dirty filter icon. I've gone as far as clearing the cached data, removing the AC units from the app, deleting/reinstalling the app, and adding the units back. Amazon Alexa reports the correct mode/temp as do the AC units so this is clearly an app issue. Will change my rating if an update is pushed that fixes these issues.
Update : it seems the app has lost connection with my device. —-------—-------------- The app is easy to use. I did have an issue with the initial set up I kept being redirected to sign in to my account. I fixed the issue by resetting my password. Overall the adding of my portable AC unit was quick. I wish there was a manual way to change some of the settings such as degrees on the a control panel. It would have also been nice if the app allowed you to turn down the lights on the control panel.
app no longer works. it reads as the window unit ac is off even though its on. i hit turn on in the app and can change the settings on the ac but as soon as i close the app it goes back to the off setting. it does not turn the unit off but i cannot be controlled remotely unless i hit turn on every time i open the app. it also is no longer working with Amazon alexa app. as others have stated this just started a few days ago. its the middle of summer! I will not purchase another frigidaire item.
The August update seems to have led to server-side data problems. I cleaned my filter and reset my Gallery window A/C, but the app still shows "dirty". If I change settings on the unit, the app won't see the changes. Even the room temperature is permanently stuck at where it was prior to the update. I tried deleting the data, deleting the app, and reinstalling and logging in again, but the data remains fixed due to a server-side issue. It was already an annoying app. Now it's almost useless.
Not sure what recently happened... update? Malfunction? I have loved this app for a while now. I could set the temp before leaving work and my tv room was nice and cool by the time I got home. A few days ago the app just started saying 65 degrees, no matter what I do. And the remote settings don't always change the settings on the window unit. If I go push the buttons on the unit itself everything works fine. Past version was a five star. Whatever is going on now is zero. So three...
(8/12) As many have mentioned, no longer works. temperature is set at same temperature no matter what and doesn't read the actual temperature in the house. really frustrating as I use this especially when I'm on vacation with my cats in the house. (8/14) app seems to be working again like it's supposed to. I'll bump to 3 stars and give it more if it continues to work 👍
This app wifi/unit is getting worse by the day. As of today my AC unit is just turning itself on all day long. This is a HUGE problem. There is obviously some sort of communication issue between the app and the unit. There has to be a fix for this glitch soon?? It was bad enough that the wifi/app portion of this unit has been rendered useless (can't even turn it on/off), now I have no choice but to unplug my AC so it's not just randomly turning on all day whenever it wants- wasting electricity.
it is cool to be able to use Alexa to turn the A/C on, off, and change the temperature. Only 1 problem so far, for some unknown reason the A/C unit in this app started reporting the Wi-Fi was "off", but it was "on" on the A/C. Reinstalling this Frigidaire app corrected the issue, but hopefully it doesn't happen too often... the Wi-Fi feature is why I purchased the A/C unit.
