Reviews for Fudget 2: Budget Planner

← Back to Fudget 2: Budget Planner

I absolutely love this. The one feature I always missed using the first version - unstarring multiple selections - is now included! I also like the sub-entry partials breakdown. There are so many options to budget different expenses the way you need to. Great job on the update, and well worth the annual subscription.

Okay so after my little rant regarding the issues migrating from Fudget 1, it was worth all the effort. The app is faster, smoother and more user friendly by far. The real time synchronisation between devices is brilliant. Plus all the new additions such as payment reminders makes this app feel like something completely new, not an upgrade. Paid for annual premium after a few days of using it. I feel now after using it for a while my previous rating was unfair. This app deserves 5 stars!

Long-time user of the original Fudget, loved the simplicity. Fortunately, Fudget 2 is still simple to use, but has much more power at your fingertips. It's very configurable, but not at all confusing. Most of all, no more need to backup to Dropbox: your data is safely in an encrypted repository, which lets you access it from any of your devices. This is really the best of its category. Thank you, Danny...

I had the original app that I've used for years. I even purchased the paid version that wasn't a subscription at that time. I tried to use the app this morning, and there's nothing there. All my budgets I've had for years are gone, and the app is just black. I didn't receive any kind of notification or anything. I'm not interested in the new version. I'll be going pen and paper since one of the budgets I used was for reimbursements. I'll spend my weekend trying to recalculate my budgets. So long

This used to be a great, simple app I could use to manage my family's budget each week as we spent and exporting those transactions out to balance my accounts in spreadsheets I keep. My phone recently installed an update and now I can no longer export without paying a fee. I think basic functionality like that should remain free especially if it was available in the past. Already found a different app to replace. This app is not at all worth paying for.

Love this! It's simple quick and easy! No need to be linked to my bank account and it isn't one of those sketchy apps that want your data. However I don't like how you have to pay a monthly fee for fudget plus. A one time fee to unlock everything forever sounds better. I just don't see the logic behind having a recurring fee to unlock a few extra (which should be included in the free version) features. Seems like a cash grab, but all in all it's an awesome app that really has helped me!

I've had the original fudget for quite a while now and I loved it. I opened it yesterday to update my budget it would not open. I did all the stuff , I ended up uninstalling, went to reinstall just to find out that it was gone I had to get Fudget2. I even did the full subscription all the way for the year thing. Redid my budget because mine was now gone. Only to find out that I can't read my budget. The items are so spaced out that I can't scroll to see what it is that I'm even looking at.

Untrustworthy company. I had the paid version and used it for years. I owned it. It was mine. I relied on it to track my spending. So imagine the horror when I tried to open it only to find a blank screen! Now I have to figure out what's been paid and what hasn't and how much money I actually have. ALL BECAUSE THIS COMPANY GOT GREEDY AND WANTED TO SWITCH TO A SUBSCRIPTION BASED FORMULA WHERE YOU GET RIPPED OFF OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Stop forcing subscriptions on us! Shame on you! SHAAAAAAAAAAME!!!

I have been a long-time user of the original fudget app, and now, having used fudget 2 for over a week, I can say it really is an improved version of its predecessor. I really enjoy using this app for itemizing all my expenses and income each month, and it helps me budget as such. The best part really is the ability to pull up your budget on multiple devices without having to upload to Dropbox and download to the other device. It's seamless and I love it!

I BOUGHT the original Fudget because it was great and a one time purchase, unfortunately, they've ruined it. The other day I tried to launch the app it was completely broken, wouldn't even load. I rebooted my phone, closed and opened the app, etc. finally, I decided to uninstall and reinstall only to find "Fudget 2" the inferior sequel. It deleted all of my old budgets, and is now a subscription service. I won't be returning to this garbage. Huge disappointment for what used to be a great tool.

This app isn't for me. It doesn't do anything that my banking app already does if you are only using it for a personal budget. The banking app may not show each transaction in a legible format, but at least it is automatic. I totally don't see a use for this app that paper and pen can not achieve already. Especially for a monthly fee. Even on a phone you can use a simple spreadsheet to replace this app.

no longer free! I've been using Fudget every single week since 2020 (5 years) to budget my check. and they just updated it so that you can only make 5 budgets or you have to pay a monthly subscription. I will be deleting this. You just lost one of the top users of this app I'm not paying for something that should be free. these subscriptions are out of control It's basically charging me to use a calculator and take notes. that's ridiculous

Took a great, simple app, paywalled the most critical features and moved to a subscription-based service. Sadly not the first time I've seen an app kill itself off by basically nickel and diming its user base. 25% off is at least something, but every successful app I've used has offered its users free lifetime memberships for years of use. I've used Fudget 1 since 2018. My Dropbox was unfortunately hacked or disabled, so I lost my backups. I have no way of importing my budget. Will not be using.

I tried the new fudget app for probably 8 minutes. It has large quantities of adds that stop you repeatedly and it took a good bit of time to start the process. I uninstalled it. It's not the same as the old version nor is it simple. I'll just us paper to track things that way. I'm not sure of this but I remember have the option to have more then 5 budgets. I'm figuring it's a block to get money. I'll miss the old version but it is what it is. Best regards to the creator.

All my budgets are gone in fudget 1. I wish I had received a notification. I receive notifications to upgrade, so why couldnt I receive a notification that the app was shutting down? The free version of fudget 2 only allows for 5 budgets. I'm going back to a free spreadsheet template since I only need simple tracking. There are so many great, free templates out there so, this turns out to be a blessing in disguise.

Buggy. Fudget 1 was such a great app. Now it's like the dev made the whole thing cloud based or something. I try to open a budget to enter my lunch burrito and just get this spinning circle like the app didn't show up for work today. That's the opposite of useful. Seriously, can it just save data locally and work without having to run 30 server checks? If I wanted cloud functionality or whatever it's doing, I'd get a real accounting app.

When you dream of an upgrade, this is what it should look like. The new App is absolutely amazing and functionally improved! Fudger 1 was so simply and easy to use, it was almost elegant to a degree. Fudger 2 elevates that so well, giving you more options, control, tracking and notification, it's no longer just a budget tracker. It's almost a full blown Personal Financial management app and that's all you need to know. No regrets with sticking to Fudget!

OG user here. Awesome app. Helps me stay out of debt. Love the simplicity which is something all other budget apps lack. One thing I would suggest is having the option to add entries into categories (and remeber them) This would actually make the charts categories useful. And would give you a better overall picture of where your money is going. As of know. McDonald's and Pizza hut are in separate categories. I could give each entry the same name but then this wouldn't help track my purchases.

I tried every app out there. Absolutely LOVE this one. Use it in my phone, laptop and PC. I didn't want something linked to my bank account. None of those that did gave me the control and flexibility of this one. The new features added recently just made it even more special. I create a full year of monthly budgets with biweekly paychecks and for planning ahead, finding ways to save and track everything daily, nothing compares to this.

I love this version of Fudget, especially on my tablet. The cell phone version is ok, and the windows version could be more user friendly. I would give it a 5 stars if the annual fee was more affordable...period. I just want to be "on budget", the price doesn't justify it. I may not renew it or use it next year because of the pricing - I'll just use a pencil and paper budget book.
