When choosing Renewable Diesel, Regular Unleaded price shows up. Does not automatically connect with rewards points. Also some pumps advertise $0.30 off per gallon for Renewable Diesel plus more off for using their card, and same as cash for using their card but usually does not all happen the same time especially the $0.30 for Renewable Diesel. Update to your response: That explains the $0.30 off and possibly the rewards points which I don't see. It did not address the others.
Reviews for Fuel Forward
← Back to Fuel ForwardI like that you don't have too remember your card. The discount doesn't seems like a lot but adds up. The app stopped working for my old phone but that is true with all app in time.
gps location accuracy is unreliable at best. standing at the doors of my usual station and the app tells me I'm 400 ft away and unable to use the pay at pump option. maps can pin my location to within 20 ft but not this app
Watch the Magic happen:I know now what it means to live in the 21st century it was easy and AWESOME. I used my gift card, which I needed to have that all setup prior then download app create account very easy once all done. At the pump, I have my cell open, app open, select: Pay/pump #/ and badabing badaboom watch my screen process and complete.
The app is nice when it works, but for the second time since I started using the app, I cannot update my credit card information. My credit card expired at the end of July 2025, and each time I try to add my new card information, I receive an error telling me that an error occurred and to try again later. Uninstalling and reinstalling the does not work. Please fix this. Thank you
I would give up on using the app entirely if it weren't for the 15 cents a gallon savings. It takes multiple attempts of entering my pin, closing, and restarting the app to finally register on the pump. Meanwhile, multiple cars around me have filled up and left the gas station, while I am still sitting there JUST TRYING TO GET THE APP TO WORK. Update-I did figure out that this is an app glitch and I just cannot use my facial recognition unlock if I'm using the app. I close it and enter pin.
The app is very hard to use. I tried using it, but ended up having to both use my physical credit card AND talk to the cashier anyways. It also didn't record the transaction, so I didn't get reward points either. Better delete my credit card information from them. And now I got double charged for the same tank of gas.
This app USED to be really easy and great to use. Nowadays, it can't seem to agree with fuel pricing (app said fuel was $3.10/gal, sign and the pumps at the station say $3.09/gal). Kind of being petty, I know, but it's a data point. App no longer appears to apply any sort of discount, which really kind of makes a person wonder why you would use the app in the first place.
Seems like a great deal, but the discounts are incredibly inconsistent. Supposedly, you get .05 off by using the app, an additional .30 off purchasing renewable diesel, and the 1st Tuesday of every month supposedly you get an additional discount. Yet, first time I using app on a random Saturday, I got .45 off per gallon, then on the 1st Tuesday I only got .35 off (no special 1st Tuesday discount), then I purchase on Friday with the app and only got .30 off, no app discount. What's the deal?
"Connection issue. Please try again in a few minutes. If this issue persists, please call customer service." Except that customer service is closed. And here's my FAVORITE part: I'm typing this right now THROUGH that notification, because the app popped up an error message on the bottom of the screen THAT DOESN'T GO AWAY EVEN WHEN THE APP IS CLOSED. What hot garbage.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. My 76 app worked just fine. Then I was forced to "upgrade" to this POS. Since the upgrade, I have not been able to access my cards payment info through the app. I push the login button and it goes to a blank screen. Yesterday I was trying to fuel at a 76 station and the app took several minutes to initialize. After that, it said there weren't any stations in the area. Later, about ten miles down the road, the app it showed all 76 stations including
Tragically bad app. Barely worth using. That you get a 10 cent per gallon discount at the pump is the only plus. Overall, this app is simply a tool to get in the way as it tries to sell you things you don't care about. It's painfully slow and unreliable. I spend more than twice the time at stations when using this app, even though I'm usually a half a mile down the road when this app finally decides the transaction is complete.
I have had many, many incidents where I could not login. Other times I get in and by the time the gas attendant shows up, it times out. Most recently after several times getting an error authorizing the pump, it locked me out and told me to try again in 24 hours. I left with no gas. I enjoy the savings, but the app is very unreliable.
Far too glitchy and unmanaged to rely on. Too often the map identifies locations that either don't offer the option to pay on the app, or aren't actually Phillips/Conoco/76 stations any longer, or are permanently closed. If you do make it to a participating store, the app may completely fail to allow you to pay. Other times it forgets who you are altogether for no conceivable reason, or fails to recognize your credit card info, even after having entered it (and anything else) correctly.
When I initially signed up, I was using the Conoco app without any issues. Now, I have had several instances where the app will not communicate to the pump. EX: I tried to fuel this morning and the app stated "Pump is not available" after 3 times trying to connect, the app stated that I had exceeded my tries and would have to wait 24 hours before I can again access. If these issues are not fixed soon, I will remove this app and go with another option.
Update: in an area with limited service, app decides to update while I'm sitting at the pump. Took 10 minutes to update the app. Removing a couple of stars from the review. Make sure you have the app open and ready before you get to the gas station because it takes forever to get logged in! Once you're in, everything's great. PayPal, credit card, good to go. But you're going to have people honking at you in line because it takes so long to get into the app..
Like most I only deal with this app for the savings. Multiple times this pos has not deducted the savings at all and if you report it they give you a digital gift card in the app for the difference, however, you cannot use it in conjunction with other payment methods so if you have a $4.00 gc you can only get that amount in gas. Really? Also, it will show you gas stations that are not even participating but you don't learn this until you try and authorize the pump. Novice app development.
I have NEVER left a review for any app before. Today was my 3rd time using it. The first two times I just waited for authorization and then closed it out. Today I looked at the digital receipt: I WAS CHARGED 20 CENTS MORE PER GALLON!!!! I even took a picture of the gas station sign price and pump price and they weren't in the middle of a price change either because I drove by a few hours later and it hadn't changed.
Could be a good app but it has an issue every time I try to use it. The first time, I couldn't add a payment method. The second time it couldn't locate the gas station it found the time before. Another time, the app wouldn't load after an update. And then today, it wouldn't let me enter my passcode. I'd like to save 10 cents per gallon, but if the damn app won't let me, what's the use? I'm going back to the Upside app. I may earn less with it, but at least their app works.
Every time I try to use Direct Pay at the pump, it pulls up an error message and cancels my transaction. To make matters worse, most Philips 66 stations don't accept mobile pay at all, not to mention the ones that do don't even know what it is. What's the purpose of having a rewards system that no one knows about. It won't even pull up your full Kickback Loyalty number so you can enter it at the pump. At the moment, it seems this app is just vaporware.
