Reviews for Fuelio: gas log & gas prices

← Back to Fuelio: gas log & gas prices

7.7.0 app update: was really disappointed that the statistics tab changed for the worse. Sure you get some pictures, but I much preferred the old format with all the info easy to see. Hope to see a option to choose which layout one would prefer. I'll be downgrading versions for the time being as I had put all the stats into Excel and don't want to play hide and seek for them.

Update: Still love the app, but I've started having issues with the Google Drive backup. Keep getting error of "Problem with file structure". The app does exactly what it's suppose to to help me track mileage and maintenance on my vehicles. The only issue I've had is that occasionally it will show kpg instead of mpg when I open the app, but then will correct to my settings after I select something and go back to the main screen. Everything else is great and I love the reminders.

I've been using fuelio for a couple of years now with no issues. Recently though the auto calculation when fueling up doesn't work. I'll type in the gas price, and then the total cost and then doing so causes the price to change after I had typed it in (and the app auto fills gallons). If I type it in a different way it will do the same thing no matter what. I'll give the app another chance but if this issue persists I'll find something else. The main draw to this app to me appears to be broken.

I like this app, it's perfectly adequate for logging goes, the reason it is only 3 stars is because its data analysis is lacking. The "average" fuel efficiency shown is terrible because they present the midrange (min+max)/2, a useless metric that tells you nothing of substance. What you need is the mean fuel consumption, adding up all the mpg ratings and dividing them by the total number. In fact, this is an issue with basically all the data they present.

Easy to use, clean interface. You can track fuel use for multiple vehicles if you want to, make notes for each entry (or not) and it even has a feature in case you forget to enter a fill up from time to time. I am totally happy with it. Update 2024 April - having used the app now for several years and through several upgrades I'm still totally happy with it.

I used to have 5 stars but then I found a major bug in the platform, and there's nowhere to email or send details, so I'm just gonna use a 1 star and hope your team notices. I made a video of the bug, but basically, while trying to put in gas and total cost for refueling, it keeps modifying the previous input I just changed and trying to keep the gas level the same, even when I clear the gas amount input. I'm stuck in an endless loop trying to put in gas price and total cost. Super annoying.

It is promising, and has all of the features I was looking for, but there is a problem with the syncing. I entered data for a fill up, and the data later was changed to completely wrong info. I edited the entry back to the original correct info and made sure it saved. A few hours later it had once again changed the entry for gallons. Another issue I have with the app is that I never want Total Cost to be an input option. I only want total gallons and price per gallon as inputs, and total cost should be calculated from those. Instead, if I have entered gallons and price per gallon, but then need to go back and edit one of those two entries, it will not update total cost, and will in fact keep total cost locked and recalculate total gallons or price per gallon if you edit one of those two.

Overall it's good and does the basic job of tracking fuel economy and fill ups. Some notable issues; * You cannot add a station if it doesn't exist. * Homescreen widgets have been broken for a long while now. Additions; * A "notes" section in vehicle info would be a huge benefit for keeping track of oil / fuel filter part numbers, tire sizes, oil type, etc. * A "personal or business" option for fill ups would be great for those of us who need to track miles and expenses for work.

I have been using this for a few months now and have really enjoyed it. It's pretty simple to figure out and there's a lot more stuff then I imagined. I just wanted something to track my gas and this tracks it, graphs it and does so much! I would recommend this app. My only issue work the so is the gas station tab, it just had a continuous loading symbol but never loads. (but I don't mind personally so I still give you 5 stars)

Ive used Fuel Log for years. Every time I reset my phone, or upgraded, I've lost my historical data. Even purchasing the App, I couldn't get it to work properly. Fuelio, works similarly, but the difference is, is that it works. Flawlessly. One of the better Apps. It allows you to enter the mileage, the price and wait for the gallons. The other Apps that serve this function are backwards. Enter the mileage, price paid for the tank and the gallons, and it tells you the price per gallon... duh.

Very good app for tracking fuel usage. The only problem I've had is with entering gas station information. For my area, it's pretty much impossible. Most of the stations I use don't even show up on the map. It would be nice if they would allow you to enter gas station information independently of the map. Other than that, the app works well for tracking MPG, which is all I use it for.

I like this app. But there seems to be a bug that happens when you use the trip odometer instead of just the total odometer. When you go an edit an entry it will change the to the regular odometer then add the total. This has caused my total odometer miles to double or triple the actual amount my vehicle has. I wish the app would have the option of choosing to using only trip odometer or the total odometer. But it always defaults to the total.

I like this one a lot. With a simple clean and neat interface. This is easy to use. A couple of minor issues: 1. When entering a fuel up, start at the top of the page and work down and everything will work as expected. If you start anywhere else, the middle or bottom, the calculation will get messy. 2. To add a gas station you must use location services. There is no manual entry for the station name. I would prefer the manual entry Minor issues. This is 1 of the better car trackers. Get it.

Great app to keep track of my cars maintenance and paperwork. All of my insurance, registrations and city stickers are due on different dates and so are oil changes and maintenance. That's where reminders come in handy. I also ended up using the app to track my fuel expenses even though I was not planning to. And no adds! Seriously? I wish there was a donate button.

App seems to work alright, but the interface could use some UX and UI improvements. i.e. Reminders do not have a way of adding an event instance when you have a recurring event/reminder so you can't keep accurate records unless you add the same thing as a one time expense. Also for me as of 9.4.0 the app will crash anytime I want to see a chart or graph of my data, would be nice to see all that. If that is fixed then I will update my review.

Great App! I have kept my paper receipts for 50 years and do nothing with them. In Fuelio, it takes only a few minutes to enter the odometer and gallons and price per gallon. It also lets me enter the discount to get the actual cost and, in prose, any service I did like adding oil or a fuel additive for a record of these important activities. Question. Is there a way to create an entry for service like an annual tune-up and oil change to keep a record that does not involve a gas purchase?

downloaded the app b/c I heard it worked with Android Auto. When launching from Auto, "Gas Stations" appear with the circle of death and never goes away. After intervening, learned it only tracks 1 vehicle, doesn't separate multiple vehicles by car... (opening app in 2nd car shows 1st cars entries). Nice that it appears on Auto screen, but more functionality is desired

I have been using Fuelio since 2013. It was very good back then, and it continues to be. it is very stable, the data is reliably stored and can be synchronized with some cloud services like Google or Microsoft OneDrive. One thing i wish would be easier is to add gas stations that don't appear when refueling.

Came back to this app after a 2+ years hiatus. The relearning curve was pretty fast. I used the .csv file to import the data accumulated during the 2+ years. The process was a little frustrating due to what I believe is a bug in the app. I found that any costs entered with a Total Cost of 0.00 will not appear in the timeline. So, if I record an entry that does not have a cost, I have to enter something like 0.01 for that entry to show in the timeline.

update. it is finishing the trip without me clicking on finish. I don't have GPS on half the time when it does it, and it will close the trip even when I am following the google gps It's a great app, especially when you use your car for work everyday but, if I'm sitting in traffic or at a stoplight for too long it will shut off. it's incredibly annoying
