Absolutely brilliant application! Far better than all the other file managers put together. This allows me to connect to my server, my Raspberry Pi's and my local files with ease, even setting up bookmarks to file locations, etc. Really highly recommended.
Reviews for FX File Explorer: Plus License
← Back to FX File Explorer: Plus LicenseI've been happily using the free version for years, and finally decided to chip in the well-deserved $ to support. Love how this upgrade is easy (add-on key only) - no "back-up, install new, restore, uninstall old" process needed.
TERRIBLE. 2.5 years ago this was excellent. Now no drives appear. We all know the Google Banks answer "contact developer" I have but get crickets.. 1 star is t too many. App usex to list all external drives which I formatted exFAT via pass-through powered simple usbc hub, or thunderbolt 4 (usb4) element and plugable hubs all pass through powered OTG correct cables data and power. Solid explorer pro, X-plore pro, Smart File Manager, File Manager + no problems all excellent
Instantly wanted to purchase but waited to test more. Be sure to try the trial. This developer makes some great apps. Always room for improvement but it's definitely on par with the best. I'm coming from ES Pro, so I'm missing some of my old features, but this brings things to the table I didn't have before. I really miss my swiping between windows the most (the current isn't as fluid/natural)...
I started using FX File Explorer Plus in 2013. It was my go-to for years. They made some changes I didn't like so I abandoned it for a long time. I recently tried it again after the one I'd been using showed high levels of suspicious activity on my firewall. Wow, I love FX all over again! It has a beautiful, slick interface and clever, well-implemented features. I'm so glad they're maintaining this app - it's truly best-in-class!
I paid for a license of an app I appreciated for years, but then when trying to take that license to my other 2 devices it tried to force me to pay for it yet again. All 3 use the same account, I should have simple access to it from all devices on that account. Good thing I figured it out while I could still get refunded
All the plus extras are working great for me except for FX Connect. Doesn't work at all even if "Disconnect from Wi-Fi Access Point" is enabled. I don't really like X-plore but WiFi file sharing does actually work pretty well and is the only thing I use it for. Would easily rate 5 stars if all the features I paid for worked.
My only request is to add line numbers to the text editor app (if they haven't already, since I'm using an older version), like how the text viewer has them. I've been using this app for a while now and figured it was time to upgrade to the paid version. Even though I'll never need any of the additional features in the full version, I'd like to thank the developers for making this excellent app that's among the most powerful and versatile file managers out there.
Any chance of adding a Storage Access Framework/Documents Provider support for network saving/loading from 3rd party apps? that would be a killer pro feature. I'd gladly pay $5+ for such a feature, on top of what I've already paid. Ability to load/save directly to Dropbox, onedrive, webdav etc directly from my text/photo editor would be amazing. Already possible to do LAN access via 3c toolbox, but cloud storage would be better.
I use it all the time, I never have issued and it does exactly everything I need it to and should do with root and system as root'd device. I'm very glad I bought the license years ago, it's my go to everything for file and root system work plus unpacks installed apps so I can't for anything more, it just works. I've never reviewed FX File before but I should have, I literally use it all the time and so will you. It also has a shortcut on my desktop where shortcuts aren't many due to space
The file manager is exceptional, but the text editor sucks due to jerky scrolling. And the search function doesn't go back to the results when hitting back after selecting one, so you have to perform the search over and over in order to check each result. Update: Down to 2 stars due to new, unexplained permission and the fact I have sent several emails to the dev over the years and have NEVER ONCE received a response. Great file manager, nonexistent support.
The app looks great - at least with the FX Faenza add-on theme - and the Web Access feature is superb. But it is annoying that it has a number of niggling faults and it appears they're never going to be fixed, so I am only giving it 3 stars. It won't open azw3 files in FBReader Pro, even though the latter DOES support the new system (and Google's own Files app and all other file manager apps I've tried will). It misbehaves when I slot in a USB flash drive. And it won't open one particular jpeg I copied onto the phone, which admittedly is quite a large file, but my other file manager apps with their own image displayers will. Plus the app developer never replied when I emailed about the first two of theses issues, which shows a poor attitude to customers - shame given that it is mostly so good.
I love the app, enough that I even paid for it! Only feature I would ask to be added would be to use biometrics to unlock the keyring, instead of always having to enter the password.
This is a better file explorer than the stock android one imo. I use it to browse my Android device folders as well as my NAS. The only feature it lacks is rotation lock for videos. Add this and it is the perfect file explorer.
Abandoned? Google Drive integration stopped working over a year ago, I emailed dev with no reply. Droobox integration stopped working months ago, emailed dev with no reply. It's a shame, because FX is still by far my favorite explorer interface. I would love to see it updated. Old review for reference: FX is by far my favorite file browser, and I use it numerous times a day. I bought this just for the dropbox integration, and it's seamless. It's how the official dropbox app SHOULD have been.
This is the best file exploring app I've ever used. I would ask for one future feature update: it would be great to be able to do a bulk photo upload to Google Photos. I use my phone for work, from time to time, and I don't want Google Photos to upload everything. So I manually upload what I want. Their backup interface is not so awesome, the one from FX File Explorer is way better. Thanks for all the hard work, great app!!!
After having tried multiple file explorers, I finally settled for this one. It's intuitive to use, has multiple features like accessing a Windows network (which I needed), accessing cloud storage like Google Drive (which can be used to show you the number of files and space used by a folder, something that Google's own Drive app can't show), access the files in your phone by type of media (photos, audio, etc.), etc. All of this while looking good. Would love an update though. Recommended.
I've been using this for a long time, and have generally liked it a lot. However, recently I tried using the FX Connect feature, and it would not work correctly, although it worked in the past. I sent a support email, with no answer after a week or so, so I resent the same email, as a forward, so they'd know I already sent it once. Still no reply after another week or two, so until I get a reply, I will rate them at one star. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect some response to a bug report. Sorry FX Same problem months later with another bug report. Uninstalled FX, installed Solid Explorer - much better, easier to use, and no errors so far.
I've been meaning to rate/write this app for a long time, (4 or 5) years or more now. it's been a great app since I started using it and has only gotten better over time. Before FX I used ES and it was good, then it started getting "bloated" and way too many ads. I have used FX on 3 different phones now and I have no complaints. I do wish you had a PC version. Thanks for a great full featured App and keep up the great work. J Cheno
Unable to transfer to external network storage. Support is basically non-existent --so you're on your own! Samsung Galaxy Note 8 & 9. I took my time writing to ask if there was a way to circumvent this problem and I never heard back from them... Probably never will. I can do this with all other operating systems. The circle spins "Can read from sources" I love the app. I actually preferred it to the Android because it's more intuitive. However, not responding to your customers is not acceptable
