Reviews for Garmin Connect™

I can no longer do strength training, even 'free' without it automatically tracking sets reps and rest. Sets and Auto are TURNED OFF in settings. It drives me CRAZY - it doesn't even recognise when I'm ACTUALLY starting a new set or resting. It's completely random! It's disappointing if I need to stop recording workouts as Strength and use another activity instead.

Model:Forerunner 265. Still issues with tracking swimming, especially breaststroke-it doesn't count some lengths. Now I create and preload the workouts which improved the issue for other strokes but still facing it for my main stroke so I improved my rating. Another issue I'm facing: my weight and body composition data is not being synced from Health Connect. My scale provides all that data to Health connect but I can't get it in Garmin app. I hope suggestion to get another scale isn't serious.

Great app. Garmin watches are far ahead of the competition. thank you Garmin for listening to us about the app. it is been much improved. One more thing that could be improved would be to be able to edit more with sleep times than the start and stop time. I would like to be able to add an awake time during the night for them the watch doesn't register it.

Still hate new app interface from April 2024. It used to be perfect - trash now. I can't choose the focus I want on the main page. Must drill down mult levels and back out for each stat separately. This plus frequent sync issues causes excess battery drain. Manually added data can't be deleted. Sleep tracking is a joke. No choice but to use this app for syncing your device to right time/date. Unless endurance trainer, do not waste your $. Will not buy again unless app reverts to old perfect app

Too clunky. and very irritated that it thinks it should vibrate to ask me to turn off an alarm when I'm struggling to get extra sleep. Like straight up enough to ruin a day... The app itself seems to be riddled with other issues that just don't make sense. Such as: (1) notifications that won't go away; (2) stating "cannot calculate fitness age," but it tells me a number; (3) assuming you lost 0.1lb every time I try to update weight, the input is also messed up there. PLEASE FIX THE APP Y'ALL.

Terrible application overall in my opinion. My biggest gripe is it averages your heart rate over 2 minutes. I find this very annoying for accurately tracking my fitness progress. I don't want a smooth line. I want accuracy. I shouldn't need to buy an external hr monitor and app to track my heart rate. I should be able to disable averaging of heart rate at the expense of storage and battery life.

Difficult to use. Scheduling workouts is a pita. If I have a workout I missed I can't go back to it or reschedule it for today. I added my custom workout to the schedule and it doesn't show up on my watch. Garmin watch is Not user friendly at all. Custom workout doesn't show up. Takes so much effort just to do normal tracker things. The charts are ugly, why not look like the watch on app?? At a glance mismatch. Presentation of events is poor. Impossible to setup music Playlists on your watch.

Recent update had the app running constantly in the background. You cannot keep it from running. I put in deep sleeping mode and it still runs. If you close it in the background it restarts itself within a minute. I even logged out of it and later went to check and it had restarted itself again. Why exactly do you need 24 hour constant access to my phone!

I'm coming from the old bip watch/zepp app was mostly fantastic, accurate, inexpensive capable and intuitive. This Garmin watch/app is frustrating, inaccurate, expensive and the organization seems convoluted. The sleep tracker is a joke in comparison. I really only switched to get the better battery & i didn't want the oled screen. I'm getting used to some of it but so far I've been very disappointed. I do like the way alarms/timers are done on the Garmin way more. please fix via updates!

Update 8/18 resolved my complaint with activity tracker exercise editing. 5 stars. Been using for the last 3+ years and like it, until last update (4/24). Everything still works (unlike others I've seen complaining about syncing). But, now, when trying to edit a strength workout, I have to select the exercise, and click back twice to add it. Previously, you just selected the exercise and it added automatically. Not efficient or user friendly since the update.

It's been about 2 weeks now, and bluetooth connection between my phone and Instinct 2 solar has been working. Wasn't an instant fix. For a few days, it would connect for a good part of a day, then disconnect, connect several times morning and night. Just happy the last 2 updates seemed to have resolved the previous issue. Hope others with the same problem see the return to functionality. 7/21/25 update: sync not working again since 7/14 update. Hope it gets resolved soon!

It appears good fitness tracker and more. I really like the Garmin golf feature. I don't trust the sleep score. It indicated deep sleep when I was laying in bed wide awake! It would be really great if it could show blood sugar readings from a Libre 3+ CGM. Also, the solar battery charger doesn't really charger the watch unless it is in the very basic survival power mode.

Always a solid experience. However, with this recent update, I'm getting a lot more background app activity battery draw, even when my watch is off, and my phone's Bluetooth is off. Every time I go to Tabs to close my recently used apps, Garmin Connect always shows is running in the background, and I have to 'force stop.' I've never had this happen before

Does what its supposed to more or less. However, its constantly waking up and running in the background for seemingly no reason - even with Bluetooth and location services turned off. Furthermore, it seems like every time I turn on my bike computer (every other day or so) im prompted to perform a software update - which is frustrating because I didnt turn the thing on to wait 10 minutes for an update, I turned it on to use it. Do better.

The app works ok. Sometimes the option to show heart rate for the body battery doesn't work (it just disappears as an option). And the way it tracks intensity minutes isn't super helpful. I do pilates every day and it never gives me any intensity minutes. Then when I walk it will give me double minutes, for a slow walk. I know it's based on heart rate, but they should change the algorithm for pilates so that it actually looks like you've exercised. It's very demotivating.

The app used to be better before an update that happened a bit ago. Now the layout mimics that of Fitbit, which I personally hate. It's drab, it's not conducive for the user and overall was a bad move. I'm hoping Garmin will either fit it in an update, or give users the option to pick how they want their app set up. If not, I'll find another tracker to use

I honestly love the app and the interface tons. But I have a huge problem with the fact that you cannot input any custom BMI values UNLESS you purchase and add the Garmin scale they sell. I paid to have a very accurate BMI measurement taken and I have nowhere to input it now. It's not a technology issue, it's the decision they actively made against us.

I love my watch - I use it for health tracking, mainly sleep, oxygen, heart rate, HRV, and stress. Lately, I'm mostly tracking sleep. I think it's extremely annoying that you cannot delete naps in the Garmin Connect app. My Garmin device frequently falsely detects naps. You can edit the nap times, but cannot delete them! It also sometimes doesn't detect sleep properly, and even after editing sleep times, will still give false info about the sleep I got, like saying it was short when it wasn't.

it's alright, neither as terrible or as life changing as some imply. The subscription is pretty useless. I would have considered paying if it allowed me to properly integrate with fitness apps that gave actual training guides and classes, but no, I have to pay other services to shuttle my data onto this platform. Open your ecosystem, integrate with other providers and your app/hardware would be utterly indispensable to me. Now I'm only here until something better comes along.

Garmin coach is completely unusable. Does not let me change preferences, workouts don't come in, makes me do the benchmark run multiple times and doesn't register I've already done it. Gives me multiple scheduled rest days for no reason. This is all in the course of a week. It is completely inconsistent, doesn't update my planned workouts. I've tried using the website instead but it also doesn't work or shows something completely different than the app. UI is cluttered as well.
