Description
Been using Garmin Pilot for a couple months now. It’s basically an app for pilots that helps with all sorts of aviation stuff – flight planning, filing, charts, weather, navigation, the whole nine yards. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kinda thing.
Here’s what you can do: You can plan your flights, file your flight plan, and access all the charts and maps you need. There’s also a ton of weather info, like forecasts and briefings, which is super helpful for making better decisions. And the interface is pretty similar to Garmin’s avionics, so it’s easy to use if you’re familiar with that.
Look, if you’re a general or corporate pilot, you’ll probably get a lot of use out of this. It’s not perfect – the learning curve is a bit steep and the subscription cost adds up – but overall it does a great job of being a one-stop shop for pilots. Worth checking out if that’s your thing.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on Garmin Pilot. I've tested a bunch of aviation apps and this one is definitely one of the more comprehensive ones. The level of detail and features is pretty impressive - it's got everything a pilot could need. At the same time, the learning curve is a bit steeper than some other apps. And the subscription model means you're paying an ongoing cost, which isn't ideal. But if you're a frequent flyer and want an all-in-one app, Garmin Pilot is a pretty solid choice.
