The "Drive Easy" is way too sensitive and doesn't pick up that you are using the steering wheel controls to change songs when using an app like youtube. It also says I'm braking hard when I'm not. It also should account that the time of day can affect how often braking is done. June 3rd, 2025 update. the app is just about useless when it comes to Drive Easy. It says i was braking hard the entire trip somehow, when that's not possible.

I've tried to enroll in the DriveEasy program numerous times to save a little more $, but the app refuses to let me enroll and gives me an error every time I try. reporting a technical problem gets the same error message.
Convenient lookup for policy info, but constant Drive Easy problems. Policy info is all there and quick to navigate. Can even get new quotes or update billing. But if you have Drive Easy, it's very buggy. I have to register my phone number everyday, sometimes the registration doesn't work. It logs false positive bad driving events every 2 or 3 trips. Maybe not worth the $35 discount.
Not reliable when you need it. I had it all set up when signing up. A couple of weeks later I had to show my proof of insurance when I was pulled over. Of course the app needed an update and of course after downloading the update I had to log in again and had forgotten the login information in the heat of the moment. Long story short : always keep a printed copy of the proof of insurance.
This app is awful! First, it makes constant mistakes. One example of poor performance: I had a "hard stop" standing on my feet at the desk at Planet Fitness. Second, it drains your battery because it requires you to turn off battery saver. I'm having to recharge my phone 2-3 times a day which is ridiculous. Lastly, it randomly stops taking any data. Then the app will send you an email asking you to log in and diagnose their problem. Overall, the data is unreliable, and the rest is a huge hassle.
So they gave me the activation account after another link and I push the first link unfortunately because I did not activate it first it screwed up the whole app. I have what they said is a temporary block and you're supposed to push on the forgotten password link and that's supposed to get rid of the block this does not it is. I am tired of it after an hour of this.
This app is so convenient and easy to use. However, the DriveEasy accuracy needs some work. It has me phone-handling or hard-breaking when I'm clearly in a building. The app recognizes the infrastructure, but I receive infractions that hinder my score when it should not be. I wait forever to get the confirmation text just to log into DriveEasy, if it even decides to come in...Please fix this.
I used Geico for 20 plus years and had zero at fault accidents. My reward? Underwriting uses some form of torture by mandatory questionnaire. Then when you fill out the questions, it takes them forever to review before hammering me with another one. Something like five in a row over a 2 month period. I finally gave up and went with a competitor. I would have thought that their most profitable customers are the ones they would try to keep.
I legitimately can't even login. It keeps asking for my login, which I give, then it sends a code to either my cell or email, for me to use to login. I enter the provided code, and then it reroutes me back to login to repeat the entire process all over again. Can't exactly rate the app higher than 1 star, if it's literally unusable.
slow, no camera controls so I couldn't zoom out to take required pictures. froze midway through "Easy Estimate" process. Tried 3 times before it submitted 4 of the 10 pictures. Now I'm gonna have to get back on the phone to sort out why I didn't send in all the pictures. Huge waste of my time BTW, app makes ~1200 connections to data tracking services. You have to agree to that & they can dot whatever they want with your personal data.
This app has made me fearful to look at my phone within 5 minutes of stopping. I hardly even use BT voice commands because it records me touching it even if the phone is locked and in the back seat. I never ever hard brake. I leave double the amount of space recommended. I have some trips that record nothing at all and I still get docked. It also has me go through text verification to look at my 'driving history' even though I'm already logged into the app.
My drive easy discount keeps saying to set up every time I login. I have had this app for years and it no longer logs my trips. My policy shows I am saving money with it, which is great, but I would like to improve my current score. it is just stuck at a score and I cannot make it move. Please fix this issue as I cannot improve my score since it no longer calculates my drives.
This app is super frustrating to use the Easy Drive Program feature. Highly inaccurate in terms of tracking hard braking, phone use, etc. For example, I constantly get dinged when I'm NOT using my phone, sitting in the cradle using my ear buds for music. I'm actually rated as excellent but it's annoying as my rate should be better than reported. As soon as I get my rates adjusted for good driving I'm dumping the program.
incomplete, I constantly have to set up the drive easy monitoring. I have cleared my cache, deleted system files,Uninstaller and re-installed the app to no avail. I also have to take to task with how it determines a hard breaking scenario. I keep getting marked for hard breaking when I'm stopping in my drive-way. I am not flying into my drive-way and slamming on the breaks. Every bad mark that I have had in the past month is because of this and nothing more. Get it together coders.
Not Useful Roadside - GEICO needs to optimize their data size because it's unacceptable to be staring at a loading screen, knowing I'm connected to the internet, and not be able to open the app. Whenever I've had a roadside issue that I want to resolve with GEICO, the app refuses to open and I have to call. Then the call forces me to go to my app, which won't open. Fix this loading/connectivity issue if you're going to claim to provide roadside assistance, or be honest about your total failure.
I've been liking the service Geico provides. Their staff have been friendly & helpful. But the app is pretty jank. UI has always been lacking, and lately I haven't been able to log in, no matter what I do. EDIT Just tried to sort my situation out over the phone. Their phonetree is garbage. X( I'm going to reach out to Progressive and see if they want me.
App can't ever remember my login info even though I check the box to remember me. The app has been constantly telling me it isn't responding. Pops up like an error code on my phone, and I have to either click wait, (wait for it to correct error) or force it to shut down. Doesn't matter what one I click, it keeps popping up hindering me from seeing my maps. ALSO, just found out you can not use Google maps while driving, it affects your DriveEasy program/score, so I will be finding a new insurance
App is not intuitive to use. I am wondering what the designers were thinking in regards to this software. Why is it that I can't login using the main policy holders' ID and cannot confirm that my number is actually set up with the rest of the drive easy users? I can see it in the settings but cannot see anyone else on the leaderboard. So annoying for no reason. Also the fact that location MUST be on all the time and phone use is negative when its only the first 3% getting AA to connect. Terrible
I dislike having to re-sign into DriveEasy every time I use the app. The DriveEasy score cannot be accurate. It often gives me a thumbs down for a trip, and when I look to see what I did wrong, there is no "slip up." My score often jumps more than 20 points at any given time without my changing driving habits or patterns. It is very inconsistent, and I hope my rates are not affected by this app.
Got it for drive easy. It was somewhat working at first. But always had you verify with a phone number and reset it up a lot. Now it wont send a verification code. When it was working. It always said I was using my phone. Even if it wasn't touched a bit. Also randomly had me zizagging around a football field before when I was running on a track. They need to really improve this app if they want more people to use it.
