The website works fine. The app, however, is a mess. In the app, I can't access any existing balances from my portfolio. The sell button is grayed out, and when I go to send the crypto I do have, it says that I have no crypto to send. More often than not, the app fails to load, errors out, and can't even populate generic info.
Genuinely seems almost like a scam, incredibly shady stuff going on here with so many people, including myself. I put in only about $40 after I set everything up to test it out, and it seemed to work alright, until I wanted to test withdrawal. I sent everything to verify properly, and THREE MONTHS LATER, I STILL haven't been verified or notified of anything regarding verification. Seems like there's no such thing as customer service either, it's absolute joke. DO NOT USE THIS APP!
Nothing but a proprietary portal to buy/sell various cryptocurrencies that allows them to make money off of yours, through fees, interest, and other financial gimmicks, just like any other bank, but even more convoluted and less helpful. Give me a secure wallet, secure access to cryptocurrencies, and the ability to send/receive securely to other wallets, vendors, etc.
The UI can be very slow, if you are looking at the charts. The app also seems to be unresponsive when opening at first. Gemini is not very transparent about transaction fees. You will only see the transaction fee right before you confirm the transaction. After that you won't be able to is it again. Only way you can see the fees is if you download the transaction history spreadsheet. They go out of there way to hide the transaction fees. It's better to use some other service.
After I made my first purchase, I was locked out of my account. I tried logging in, but my password is showing as incorrect when I know for a fact it's not, I reach out to customer service, they sent a list of things to do to troubleshoot, that didn't work. They notified me that they located my account, and I haven't heard back. I should have listened to the reviews I came across on social media. Not a great experience. I've been having an issue. They emailed me about something that wasn't showing up and it's been a week, they created 2 support tickets but only sending generic answers now, basically that they're working on it and it's been a week now. It's something very simple that THEY emailed ME about. Customer service sucks. Disappointed and curious why other people seem to have an OK experience but for it's been terrible.
They froze my account with NO provided reason and NO possible way to unfreeze the account. I sent in a ticket almost TWO WEEKS ago and they have provided no response! I have a substantial amount of money now completely locked up that they will not give me access to, nor will they respond to my emails asking why MY money is locked. This is the ultimate nightmare scenario! BEWARE and be warned. They may lock your account and poof... your money is gone. There is no recourse. You just get screwed.
App is a scam. They'll let you stick whatever you want in the app but then when it comes time to take it out and stick it back in the bank they make it as difficult as possible with no help from customer service. I sent an email and was told" It seems you were able to link a bank! Thanks for using our service." I was never able to link my bank for withdrawals. Only deposits. Surprise.
Horrible service. Cashed out of one crypto and couldn't use balance to purchase something else. Tried to withdraw the money and the system wouldn't let me do that either. Said I wasn't verified yet. I have completed all the required steps. It's been over a month and still nothing. I reached out to Gemini inquiring about the issue......no response! STAY AWAY FROM GEMINI!!!!
They stole my money! I've been waiting for two month for my account to be verified! You need to be verified before you can withdraw money. Fortunately for them, you don't need to be verified to put money in. Thankfully I've only put in around 50 dollars, but I was planning on putting in a few thousand right off the bat, luckily I noticed that you couldn't withdraw without being verified. I've reached out to them multiple times through emails, and nobody seems to help me.
