Not a bad app. The free version does just enough. However, the premium subscription is too expensive. 7.99 a week, is way too expensive. Not everyone can afford that. Some of us are on SSI, and are only making money monthly. You need to offer more options for the premium version. Monthly, and annually, would be well appreciated. And would save people money.
Samsung S23 Ultra (running One UI 8 / Android 16), the system no longer allows it to be set as the default caller ID app. Google and Samsung have restricted third-party apps from being set as the default “caller ID & spam” service for privacy and security reasons. Only system-signed apps like Google Phone can now use that permission. As a result, Getcontact can only show limited caller info in the background, but can’t function as the main caller ID anymore.
The app is broken. I have a subscription and now when I tap on the view tags of any user profile, the page just doesn't go anywhere and the tags are not shown. Tried to contact support but no reply from them.
I have been trying to verify for almost 2 months, but until today I still can't log in to my new phone, This app used to be the best, now it's the worst app I've ever installed on my phone.
I keep getting charge for subscriptions for a few years now — I've cancelled it, yet it keeps draining my money out. I've reached out yet the team said that there was never a payment I've done when clearly my account is in Premium.
I got the premium plan, and I switched from trucaller for a reason, just to know better about strange numbers that call on my phone, Now I can't get to open the tags page to see the caller tags which makes the app completely useless for me, hope to fix this soon.
It used to show the more than one caller tag. Now they won't unless you subscribe. I'd appreciate it if you implement the typical 10 20 30-second ads and/or at least top 2 or 3 tags for each number so I get a clue of who the caller could be. Maybe a short duration ads to view the top 30% of the total tag and offer a subscription to view further.
they lie to get you to subscribe.. they don't have any of the premium features available and they only tell you this once you have paid. as soon as my payment cleared a pop up came on the screen that said "no premium features available at this time"
"Warning: This app is a scam! Don't waste your money like I did. I paid for a 6-month subscription, and after just a few days, they told me I'd reached the max usage limit. No prior notice, nothing. Total rip-off. Don't fall for it.
Mostly good, until I set this app as my default dialer and messenger. Using Termux, under root shell, I can see app.source.gercontact hogging my CPU 100%. Not sure if it's just a single core or more, but my phone body is hot, so I clear defaults and things go cool again. Until that gets fixed, I can't use this app as my default dialer and messenger.
