Worked great for 2 days. Now everytime I scan an item it freezes and says error. And just repeats that no matter what I do.
Reviews for Gluten Free Scanner
← Back to Gluten Free ScannerI'd been using it and was happy. The amount of ads weren't excessive. Tried to use it the other day and now it wants money to use. The app isn't comprehensive enough to pay for it.
very useful, quick and no more reading the small print to look at the ingredients!!
It's probably the best GF scanner I have found that is free. From my experience, this has fewer items that can't be found vs. the other apps I've used.
I've used the app 3min and have scanned 4 products. Seems to work great. It's Free and I feel that I will use it at the grocery store and make better choices. Thank You.
This app is ok to scan some food or drinks but I have had a packet of crisps and I scanned it but the app said that it isn't gluten free but on the packet it says that it is gluten free and it says that it is safe for coeliacs I need to know because I am coeliac and I have had them before and I have been fine so I don't know what is going on with these app. And also for anyone that wants to know the brand of crisps I was talking about here is the name of them:N Nairn's Mini cheese bakes.
When you scan something and it tells you its gluten free it also lets you know its only to be used as a guide and to check the ingriendients. So if I have to do it then why even bother with this app in first place? Eighter it works and you take full legal responsibility for its function or it does not in which case gtfo.
Litterally out of everything I scanned over the course of 3 days wasn't in the app. It's frustrating. The app has promise, but it doesn't have enough saved items yet.
Only just got this app as I have celiac and have scanned several items one of which has wheat as a ingredient unfortunately this app says it is gluten free, will keep using it but I will also be checking ingredients on package, will update review in a couple of weeks after more testing. This app however definitely has promise, sorry to say now after checking more items it is not accurate says a packet of hard sweets that is gluten free, app says contains gluten, uninstalled 😔
I find this scanner works really nice...only once in a while it may not recognize a product but that's usually when I have no internet or very weak signal inside a store..no complaints here..
I just loaded the app in my phone and used a couple times with success. Now everytime I scan a barcode, it states that something has gone wrong and to try again. Maybe I just need to try a new app!
Confusing and upsetting for me 😕 I have celiac and I have been eating certain foods I thought to be gluten free. When most of all that Ive been eating that I scanned at the store read missing ingredients and not even gluten free ( all but 1 food) item came up gluten free. I had to Google the questionable food items to reassure myself that they were gf. Needs alot tweaking.
A very handy app that I use very regularly. Would give it 5 stars except for the fact that I have to keep restoring my ad free subscription, every few days. Incredibly annoying!
I scanned items I know to be gluten and gluten free in my pantry and most items were "not" found.... prompting me to take pictures to have the products added. So it is apparent that this is a crowd created product based on end user inputs. so it is only as good as the users whom input and update the information. my cause of concern for this is that I have had products that used to be gluten free, but now are no longer gluten free. how can we be sure that this app gets the updates.
Most items are identified as gluten-free or not. Occasionally, an item will be unknown. I can't speak on the accuracy of the info. I have not had a reaction based on using it so far. It is handy to use while shopping instead of reading the ingredients.
Hardly recognizes any food item I scan. Has ads that randomly pop up so I have to wait to scan another item. I just end up having to Google the food item I'm scanning, wasting my time with the app.
This is very helpful for people who are GF like myself. I only recently found out in November that I'm GF and this is very handy to have. Some of my family members have the app too. There are some items it doesn't know so I would say there is still improvement for the app but for the items it doesn't know just read the ingredients. But overall I would highly recommend to anyone that's GF.
🙂 So far so good. The app has allot of potential and as the database grows it will be very helpful to newbies trying to live a gluten free life. 😐 I do hate advertisements that open webpages and lead me to other websites when I'm trying to scan lol. 🤔 Perhaps you could add an incentive for products you don't have or ingredients that are missing. To reduce ads for user contributions. Example: 50 ingredient adds or 100 new product adds This would build the database allot quicker.
I just tried scanning g 8 things and it didn't have ingredients for any of them.
As someone with coeliac disease, it gets so frustrating constantly checking packaging to make sure food is safe to eat. This app is fantastic! It's quick and simple to use. Love that I don't have to register or pay to access the database. Most items I've scanned have been on there but it's easy to add items that aren't. Thank you for making this!
