Been using the GO / Taxi app for Japan for a couple months now. It’s basically a taxi booking app that works all across the country – not just in the big cities. Pretty solid if you’re planning a trip to Japan and need to get around.

Here’s how it works: you just open the app, tap to request a taxi, and it’ll find the closest driver. There’s also a bunch of payment options, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, which is super convenient. And you can even schedule rides in advance which is great if you’ve got an early morning flight or something.

Look, if you’re visiting Japan and want an easy way to get taxis, you’ll probably really like this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky sometimes – but overall it does the job and gets you where you need to go. Worth checking out for sure.

I've tested a bunch of taxi apps for traveling in Japan and GO is probably the best one I've found. The coverage is insane - it works in like 45 out of 47 prefectures, which is way better than the competition. In my experience, the rides have always been reliable and the drivers are professional. Sure, the app could use a design refresh, but it gets the basics right. If you need to hail cabs around Japan, this is the app I'd recommend.
