Description
Been using GOES: Outdoor Health & Safety for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that gives you all the info you need to stay safe when you’re exploring the outdoors, even if you don’t have cell service. Pretty solid if you’re into hiking, camping, or any kind of outdoor adventure.
Here’s what you can do – there’s interactive guides on first aid, wilderness survival, and risk forecasting. And you can check the weather, get alerts about hazards, and even have a virtual medical team in your pocket. It’s got a ton of useful features, though it took me a while to figure some of them out.
Look, if you spend a lot of time off the grid, you’ll probably find this super helpful. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a little confusing at first – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to feel more prepared and confident when you’re exploring the great outdoors.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on GOES: Outdoor Health & Safety. I've tested a bunch of survival/safety apps and this one's pretty solid. The medical guides and risk forecasting features are really handy, and I like that it works even without cell service. And the interface could be a little more intuitive, but once you get the hang of it, it's a super useful tool to have on hand. Not the prettiest app, but it gets the job done. If you're into hiking, camping, or any kind of outdoor adventure, I'd say it's worth checking out.

SOME first aid advice is free. Others need a subscription. Useless in an emergency. If you are looking for a wilderness first aid resource this is not it.
This is great , it helped with my sprained ankle in the back country
