Reviews for Google Meet

← Back to Google Meet

After recent updates the app has become so bad. Sometimes we can't start a call. We can't create groups. Today I got a bug where I couldn't switch to my back camera. Also the phone becomes so laggy while using the app. Don't know why the whole phone would lag for doing video call. There seems to be some or the other memory leak somewhere. Edit: the devs have asked me clear the cookies from my browser. bruh I am using a freaking android mobile app. how am I supposed to clear these things?

The Speaker option is Faulty. On every new call, Whenever i click on speaker, in one second, it returns back to phone. Then I should click again for it to work. This has been the same since the past 2 to 3 months. I keep hoping with every update, that this issue is solved. There's no option to give feedback on this as well.

This is an edit of my original review. I don't have older phones and Google Duo (Meet) was working fine before this update. I have very low volume during Meet video call. I have to turn off Bluetooth and then initiate a call to have audio loud enough to hear. I am not the only one experiencing this issue. Come on guys, this is a real issue. Need a fix.

I hate having to sign in. I am missing calls because I am not always alerted and this is no doubt due to my not being logged in. This sucks & I want to delete but can't. It's been months since I created my initial review & nothing has changed! I recommend that everyone start deleting their information from Google & anything associated with them that stores your information. This is an attempt to control what you do! Meet is now using email addresses for people to call you. How??? Sick of it!!!

"Something went wrong. Please try again." fails at entering phone number. "restarting your phone and make sure you have updated the Meet app to the most recent version. If that doesn't work, try clearing the app’s cache and storage, or uninstall and reinstall the app." does not help. you actually have to fix bugs in software.

its pretty good but a problem im having right now and it didnt do this before is that it cuts out calls after a short period of time. It is also better quality calls and i can actually understand the person im talking to. Overall, its pretty good! Edit 1/20/24 - Meet lo longer cuts out calls randomly, but sometimes there will be a drop in audio/video quality when everyone in the chat has perfectly good Internet connection. Still pretty good tho!

Update 11/10/2024 What is this crazy zoom that the app now does? You cannot see the total face unless you move the phone quite far away?! Google meet is up to the level of Google Duo. Very reliable communication app that allows you to place calls and video calls. Quality of calls is good, and drops are rare. Serving the purpose of professional and personal needs.

With the new layouts, it keeps frustrating me. Firstly, why do I have to full-screen the video myself every so often? It's unnecessary, especially when screen sharing because I'd like to see what's on the screen being shared rather than having to full-screen it myself. Additionally, who's idea was it for the call to automatically hang up if you close the window from the app overview? It's annoying, especially if someone can't pick up the phone immediately.

This app sucks. It would've gotten a 5 star review if it didn't have so much lags and glitches. While I'm playing other games it kicks me out of the game, keeps hanging up on whoever I'm calling, audio messes up alot, it's just annoying. Please please PLEASE fix it ASAP! I don't have any other apps to FaceTime on and this is my only option. Please and thank you.

Seems to be a bug with the latest update. If you turn on the additional encryption setting and call a contact, they can not hear you until you turn it off. I tried, power cycling the phone. Force closing any and all apps accessing microphone, took-away and returned mic permissions to the meet app and none of these steps got the microphone working again until I went into my Meet app settings and turned off the additional encryption. It worked up until this current version though.

Can no longer enhance appearance when using app on android. The setting options are minimal. There are OTHER setting options when you're on a call which is extremely unhelpful if you want to have it set ahead of time. But regardless, the settings that are available when you're on a call do not include appearance enhancement. that whole option is gone. I'm not using your app anymore. I'll use another video chat app

My last call was taken on my home wifi network (I've never changed the app settings and it's always connected to my wifi in the past), but that call was counted as data usage. The app did not notify me during the call that it had unsolicitedly changed from wifi to data connection. I've since disabled the app and will not use it, at least on my phone.

I never had an issue until meet moved to its new call style. I used meet for a normal video call between two people it was perfect for that. Now the push for the "corporate" meeting style video call has dropped the call quality significantly. The UI is very cluttered, video is not clear, especially if there is low light. The audio has become choppy. I wish this app could go back to "legacy" calling. My phone no longer receives meet calls either. Look for a different video calling app.

This app on the moto devices could be more efficient. I had a meet phone call that last 20 minutes. It took 23% of my battery life. That's about 0.87 battery for every 1 minute of the 20 minutes phone call. That's actually quite a bit. However, I know this app is no longer like duo and has more functions now. Please find a way to optimize the app usage for mobile users. I use this function when I'm in a store and not tether to a charger.

clear video when my kiddos wasn't shaking or walking around. the voice bit was difficult....I got it to wherever I could hear him thrnfirst go around. lost it on the 2nd. but I'm old and new technology or programs are always confusing at first. it's definitely better the previous apps of the same sort I've used. we didn't do a group call, but the one on one was worth a high rating.

I love using Google Meet. it's reliable for both voice calls and video calls. I use it for meetings, classes, coffee chats, etc. The app would be so much better if the host of a call could get a list of all people who joined the call at some point or the other (not just the people in the call at a particular time). It would be great for marking attendance at meetings and classes.

Another issue found that has not been fixed in months. When you select your video camera to full screen in a call, you can not go back to the callers full screen. The only way I have been able to get the callers image full screen again is to end the call entirely and start a new call. This is EXTREMELY frustrating and makes the app very unpleasant to even use. This used to work fine for years and after an update about 4 months ago this issue came about. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

I used to love this app. However, since the new Meet, nothing works like it used to. All of a sudden, none of my video messages go through. I keep getting an error code telling me to try resending, but it never does. The Q&A was useless. Now that I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, there's no option for video messages at all. I tried to re add the legacy features. None of the troubleshooting techniques work. I wish the ppl that decide to do all of these so-called upgrades would STOP!

Buggy in almost every way. Does not respect Bluetooth headphones settings consistently. Video quality is very iffy. The worst interface of any video chat app. And the most annoying of all: I can't lock the screen in portrait mode! I use the facial recognition to avoid rotating unnecessarily, but it doesn't work when the camera is enabled for video chat. Please allow that option!

Ever since they changed to the new style of meet calls, I can't make outgoing calls, but incoming calls work fine. I can clear app data and cache and get the old one back for one call and that still works. Whatever they did to meet, it's not working for me. A video calling app that doesn't make calls is pretty useless. Edit: the supplied help article isn't relevant to my issue, and I've been trying to get help from the help and feedback forum, they've tried to help but not working yet.
