Reviews for GoPro Quik: Video Editor

Terrible app! More often than not it doesn't find the camera. I constantly have to "forget" it from Bluetooth and re-pair it. And I just made the mistake of signing up for the cloud service. What a huge mistake that was! It only uploads when plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi, and that's if/when it even connects. Oh, and the "auto" upload? I have to scan for Wi-Fi networks every time, and when I find the WiFi network that it has already used, I still have to enter the password! How is that auto?

app is pretty much useless for older generation gopro, barely connects to my old hero3 after turning the camera power and wifi on and off several times, and once you lose the connection you have to start over. not surprised, this company only cares about getting you to buy the newest camera and add-ons, of course they don't care about supporting their old tech.

000 stars! 1. Media disappears off cloud! Paid for space, but it downloads ALL my media everytime I connect & fills up phone (99% used)! 2. My credit card changed, but I can't access payment methods in the app. NO PHONE # to call. Email replies to "payment didn't process" bounces back "not delivered"! 3. App UNRELIABLE! Hours lost!! It won't play, won't open, nothing! After a year, no better! Will let my subscription expire. No one to help, no plan to fix it. Will look a different editing app!

After fighting with the app for an hour trying to figure out why I couldn't get it to connect to my gopro, I uninstalled the app and reinstalled and it finally let me put in the pass code number from the camera and then it let me make a name and password for it. Now, it shows my camera on the app, but it won't let me connect to it. I did everything the error message recommended, and still nothing. You would think that such a big-name camera company would do better with this app. Over it!

uploading videos from the go pro is fine. editing is fine. but when I go to download the video, it gets stuck on preparing the video. I left the phone trying to do it over night and it's was stuck at 72%. I can't even share with a link. I have since restarted the phone cleared the cache, uninstalled reinstalled. now it's preparing video 0% for the last 30 minutes

This is the worst experience I've ever had. I've had the camera for two years now and I've never, ever been able to either download the captures through the Android app or upload anything to their cloud. Getting it connected to a WiFi network to begin with is extremely painful. After several hours of waiting for uploads it just sits at 0 of whatever I have. The Highlights apparently only work with the cloud, which is impossible to use. I'm moving to DJI since their cameras are better anyways.

Even having the subscription, on some day I lost access to my media library, and can't renew it for a month. The support doesn't work at all. I submitted 5 requests during the last month describing the issue and they just sent a generic message "we check your subscription" and then disappeared. Very disappointing. I didn't expect it from a well known company.

Can't do basic things like list the media files in the unit. App says there are new files but continuously can't find them and states can't download when I tap Download. I should be able to get the files onto my phone with this app so it's not very useful in its current state. The delete options in settings don't work either. I shouldn't need a subscription to anything just to accomplish these elementary tasks.

For such a big company app is lacking... One of the annoying things is the editing limits of how long your video is according to the music you choose, with no option to loop the music. It will then delete your edits to make it fit, undoing your work. The only good thing is the automatic videos it creates to give you ideas. It edits from the cloud with no need to download. There are better free mobile editing apps on Android, but you have to download clips to your device taking up memory.

Quik works great for capturing video on the fly while motorcycling. The preview feature is a plus when you camera is mounted in a location you can't see. The quality of the image is very clear, and you have the option to turn-on, start, stop, or end capture. Haven't tried the editing feature yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

This app serves little purpose, other than to annoy you with subscription notifications and offers. If you have a PC, don't bother, as all it really offers to those who would never use the "cloud," is a live view of the GoPro screen on your mobile. You don't need this app at all if you can view and edit content on your PC. I really don't see any use for this app otherwise. It nags you, constantly, to pay for a cloud subscription every time you open it, and sends push notifications for the same.

In the beginning the app worked great. As time went on (2 months) I had to spend countless hours troubleshooting it because it wouldn't stabilize videos or download edits. It became exhausting. My decision to cancel my premium+ subscription was because GoPro lied about the features and capabilities. After over a month of waiting for support to address my issues ( and having to explain my issues EVERY SINGLE TIME , apparently their support is incapable of reading) I cancelled my subscription.

having issues using the easy editing software, went on reddit, other people are as well. Best solution i found is to download the videos to your phone then edit them there. people say its the phone's fault bc your are editing video from the cloud which makes sense. My big grief is i paid for the go pro subscription to have unlimited cloud storage but what good is that if you have to download the videos to your phone anyways. editing video also comes out choppy close to transitions.

This app is really annoying. It takes the longest time to download videos, refuses to send half my footage to the app, and it just does not work. not only that, but it also decided to crash during multiple long editing sessions. On top of that, when I click "Record" I want it to record. But no, it has to do a stupid timelapse, so my footage sucks.

This app is terrible. No way to loop music for a longer edit, no way to do longer edits because the app doesn't even pull them up or let you share them when you get one done. It's just not user friendly at all, nothing is easy about it! I've been a gopro subscriber for quite a while but I did an edit today that it won't pull up or let me share at this point. I hate this app. I'll be researching better editing apps and canceling my subscription after this!

Just re-getting back into it. I found it glitchy at best. Bought it for a hunting trip to MO. and it glitched out while I tried to replay the videos I thought I captured. A lot of frozen frames and only audio. I got mad/gave up. Takes forever to download, upload. Then drops connection w/phone and wont finish. Now I see this highlighted video wont play. So, yes having trouble. Hard to follow menus not sure what to push, using my phone to control it lost connection. Picture is unique. Saved.

there is nothing I despise more is when a company releases a software as free you use it for a year or two and then all of a sudden they change their terms and now everything in the software is a subscription. you can do absolutely nothing with this piece of software unless you subscribe. Edit: I love how your response doesn't even cover the feedback that I left, that you've taken away features that were free and moved them to subscription only.

Won't let me sign in to an app I have paid for for the last 2 years, so I just cancelled. Fix your app. I already uninstalled and reinstalled. It's junk. Edit: Going on vacation today. Just resubscribed again to use the app while I'm away. Same issue again. Keeps telling me to contact support. Why is this still an issue? I had a subscription for the month of May and used it then on a trip. It was fine. Now, we're back to issues.

I thought the suggestions for pics/vids would at least make a little bit of sense but they're filled with a bunch of pointless transitions that completely destroy any amount of watchable footage leaving everything up to me and DaVinci Resolve. I mean, that's what I was going to do anyway but it would have been nice to be able to take a bunch of photos and get a simple stop motion auto-generated. Never trust a hardware company to make software. Auto-upload is abysmal and takes forever.

I have Premium. The app works well for most things, but for creating my own highlight reels it ALWAYS crashes or can't finish preparing my edits. I have seen other reviews saying the same, but versus doing anything about it, they like to blame your device. They also won't let you use this feature on anything but the mobile app. I can see my media on my laptop, but not my auto-generated highlights or My Edits. I'm giving it 1 star until they fix it or refund me for this.
