Alright, so I’ve been using the GPS Field Area Measurement App for a couple months now. It’s basically a land surveying tool that lets you use your phone’s GPS to measure the area of fields, plots, and other irregular shapes. Pretty solid app if you’re into farming, landscaping, or just like geeking out over maps and geography.
Here’s what you do: you just walk around the perimeter of the area you want to measure, and the app tracks your GPS location to calculate the total square footage or acreage. There’s also a bunch of other tools like being able to measure the area of a circle or polygon, and it even has an acre calculator. Took me a while to figure some of that stuff out, but it’s actually really useful once you get the hang of it.
Look, if you’re into land surveying or just need to measure the size of a field or yard, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the GPS tracking can be a little finicky sometimes – but overall it does the job pretty well. Worth checking out if you need a land area calculator.
