I've tested a bunch of GPS and navigation apps, and GPS Status & Toolbox is one of the more comprehensive ones I've seen. It's got a ton of technical data and tools, but it's still pretty user-friendly. And in my experience, the compass, leveling, and waypoint features are the most handy. The only real downside is the ads, but you can pay to remove them. Overall, it's a pretty solid GPS toolkit that I'd recommend to anyone who wants more data and control over their phone's sensors.

Pros

  • Tons of detailed GPS and sensor data at your fingertips
  • Useful tools like compass, leveling, and waypoint tracking
  • Free to download, with an affordable ad-free option
  • Surprisingly user-friendly despite all the technical features
  • Works reliably and doesn't drain your battery too much

Cons

  • The ads can get a bit annoying if you don't pay
  • Some of the more advanced features take a while to figure out
  • Doesn't have super advanced navigation capabilities like turn-by-turn
  • Might be overkill if you just need basic GPS functionality

Description

I’ve been using GPS Status & Toolbox for a couple months now. It’s basically a super handy app that gives you all the GPS and sensor data you could ever want on your phone. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of geeky stuff.

Here’s what you can do – there’s a compass, a leveling tool, and you can even drop waypoints to mark spots and navigate back to them later. Super useful for things like geocaching. It’s got all the technical details too, like satellite positions, accuracy, speed, and battery levels. Took me a while to figure out some of the features but it’s pretty intuitive overall.

Look, if you’re into maps, navigation, or just geeking out over sensor data, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can get annoying if you don’t pay – but it does the job. Worth checking out for sure.
