BEWARE!! THEY DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY YOU GET PAID TO TAKE THE repayment! I received an advance and they took the money at midnight the day before the money is the posited in my account. I don't get paid until two days later but my bank receives the money early. that is fine but when I have reached out multiple multiple times they have not done anything about it. I get an AI response. also I have incurred now $75 worth of insufficient funds charges because of this.. no reimbursement
Reviews for Grant Cash Advance
← Back to Grant Cash AdvanceThe Grant cash app won't accept my debit Mastercard from a major bank - no error message, just circles back to the page for me to input the information again, stuck in an endless loop. Customer support told me to reset the app or to uninstall and reinstall it. Neither resetting nor reinstalling fixed the problem. I've requested further assistance from customer support, but after 48 hours of waiting, I've heard nothing further. There is no phone number to call. All communication is via email.
I paid for Grant and was charged just fine. I then went to accept my advance and the app claimed I had no debit card on file (despite having JUST charged my card). When I tried to re-enter my card, it wouldn't save the info -- I'd enter the card information, hit save, and get bounced back to "add debit card." Support refuses to address the issue or provide a refund since I can't use the service. It's infuriating and scammy.
The small advance I got was very quick and easy, so kudos for that! I closed my account after I paid it back, which the end of May. I'm giving 1 star since, despite closing my account, I was billed for a premium membership today. I assumed it would automatically cancel that when the account was closed. (It'd be ridiculous not to, right?) That's apparently not what happens. I read the messages during account closure, and none tried to warn me of this this. I had to reactivate, cancel, then close.
I used to use this app a lot and it helped me in tight pinches... however, now in addition to a $10 monthly subscription, you have to earn points for a cash advance? yeah, no thanks. I already had consistent issues popping up the last couple of months where it would not let me access the advance at all because my direct deposit was "invalid" the points thing was the final straw that made me close the account.
Was a great app at first, but now stopped properly detecting my paychecks, even though they haven't changed. That caused my advance amount to drop A LOT for no reason. Customer service is of no help. There is a form in the app to fill out for Grant to learn how to detect your paychecks, but it's been days since I have submitted it and no one has responded or fixed anything. Will update my review if anything changes. For now, the app is unreliable for financial help.
Waiting for support to respond. The app offered $75. That's fine for the first advance. However, I couldn't get the advance without paying for Grant Plus, EVEN THOUGH the app stated that Grant Plus membership wasn't required. Between the transfer fee AND a membership fee, the advance is too expensive. Something either isn't working, OR the statements are misleading. I'll wait to hear from support.
DON'T DO IT, NOT WORTH IT. SCAMMED ME. Tilt is better. They only gave me $25, but said as I paid the advance back, I could borrow more. That's the only reason I went through with it. The amt due was $27 & I immediately switched to the "free" subscription. When I tried to borrow again after the 1st one was paid off, they wouldn't give me an adv. Said I didn't qualify. So i closed my account w/ them. Regardless, they charged me $9.99 the day after I closed the account & and uninstalled the app.
DO NOT USE THIS APP. IT IS A SCAM!!! At first , the app worked fine, but it's been less than 2 months and I've been charged for their "monthly" $9.99 fee 4 times. That's 2 extra charges. Customer service is no help, they just say that they can't refund anything bc it is for their membership. To top it off, I can't even sign into the app to cancel my membership. I also had the problems with my paycheck not being recognized (even though I'd gotten an advance already). Just stay away
I formerly resided in a state not serviced by Grant when I signed up for the service; now I live in a state that is serviced but customer service said they couldn't update my address on their end and there's no way for me to do so in the app. That's just asinine and I've never heard of an app having such poor capabilities.
The app worked fine when I first installed it. Then suddenly after a couple advances, it could no longer take and advance. No matter how many times I reconnected my bank, it couldn't recognize my paycheck. Mind you, my paycheck amount is the same number bi-weekly. I opened whatever ticket system they had that describes my paycheck and I never heard anything back nor did anything change in the app. I canceled my subscription and won't be downloading again.
it was working great since I started using it. now I can't use it because it's got a glitch. I've been back and forth with support, and they even said it's not behaving the way it should be when I send in my screen recorded clips of when I tried using it the last 2 weeks. response to Grant- I have been intouch with your support team email for the last 2 1/2 weeks. They were responding until 6/3, and I tried to get an update and send them the new issues. No response has been made since.
they might approve you but it's not something you can depend on. I used the service a couple times with no difficulties, then all of a sudden when I needed to use it on the 3rd occasion it said I didn't have enough paychecks, or it couldn't find my paychecks or something all of a sudden. there's literally no reason paying a monthly fee to use this service if you can't use it when you need it.
You have to pay a $9.99 fee just to see what you would be approved for. Not worth it, imo, since the lowest amount is $25. Then again it's run by Kickoff, which I also think is garbage (Self is better and you actually get a return). I stopped the process when I saw that. While it had my deposit dates correct, the amount was way off. I came to check out the reviews and I'm glad I didn't go through with it.
The 2nd time I tried to get an advance it told me it could not detect my paycheck, which it had done with no problem just the prior week, but charged me the membership fee. I contacted support, they said there was nothing they could do and would not refund the membership fee. There has been nothing new with my paycheck or account for almost 7 years. I was able to go with a different cash advance app and they had no trouble detecting my pay, so the problem is with Grant. Scam/gimmick.
I only ever got approved for $25 at a time and it makes you subscribe to the app in order to even be able to borrow that amount. Which is $9.99. I canceled my subscription and was then charged again for it immediately after, customer service told me it was for the period that I took an advance but I know I had already paid for that. I don't appreciate being lied to or having my money messed with. This app is more of a bother than something that actually helps, it's a total scam.
Twice the app has said not enough paychecks. It worked a few times then I get this message. I'm paying the subscription fee and it's being off no use to me. **the issue still isn't resolved. I needed the extra money because I'm moving and of course it doesn't see my paychecks although it can see my bank balance? I'm going to cancel subscription that cost $120/yr and only works 1x every 8 weeks.**
This app is a scam. I installed and received an advance once after signing up. No Problems. I now have not been able to log in since that time. This has been weeks now.I have re-downloaded, re installed. when I enter my credentials I get an endless spinning circle. I am being charged a monthly fee for a service I cannot access. I will be contacting the BBB as well as reporting the monthly charge as fraud to my bank. Stay Clear!
everything wasgreat , i started out with a 25 dollar advance, and over the months, I went up to a 75 dollar advance, and I paid back on the due date every time. then all of a sudden, it was almost like a glitch, they made me log in again, sign up for the 8.99 a month fee again less than 30 days after I paid my monthly fee, and brought me back down to 25 dollars almost like I was a brand new customer!! i dont know why, and no one responded to my email, and there's no customer service number 😕
this app sucks. toys with you. sometimes it can detect paychecks and will give you an advance. and when it cant(wont) detect paychecks your screwed cause there is no customer service at all. its like someone set up this app and walked away. and you have to pay for the premium membership to get an advance. which is 9.99. and there are fees on top of that for the advance too. very costly.
