Reviews for Gridwise: Gig-Driver Assistant

I use it daily to track my expenses. I got the plus version for the expanded airline info and it saves me a lot of wasted time sitting in the queue. It also helps me see when it's most profitable to drive. EDIT: Ive been having an issue with the app crashing multiple times during a shift, also the mileage just stops tracking randomly throughout the night.

It is a handy thing to provide you some information at a glance. If you split shifts it is a pain to use, that is not a feature. I find it informative to see the airport flow but I wonder how accurate that is really all the time. Overall it is handy, it by no means saves me money or makes me more money have no idea how that is possible with this app.

so easy to use. tracks everything. Just sync with your gig apps and boom. you have all your earnings. you can manually enter anything you want. for those of us who do Uber rideshare, it reports when flights are coming in and how many passengers. peak times. very helpful! I feel this app is much better than the other mile trackers. has a cool look too.

I used to pay for the plus version, but due to missing features and what felt like never updating information, I have forgone with the paid version. For example, the insights always showed the same locations and times across multiple weeks. Either there aren't enough drivers using the app, or the information isn't accurate. It's still worth using to track mileage. Would be cool if you could set the week start period manually. I drive Friday through Tuesday, which breaks up my tracked data.

Helpful, but not always accurate. The app will sometimes say I drove way more miles than I actually did. For example, yesterday it tracked over 500 miles but I most definitely did not drive that much. Luckily I use a backup app to track my mileage. This is very important as it needs to be accurate for tax purposes. It also misses earnings sometimes. I would consider paying for the app if these features would work accurately each time.

1 star because although it's been great for manually tracking miles, I've opted in for the 14 day trial to see if $70 a year would be worth the plus. Sometimes, I forget to start or end a route, and so I was hoping that by getting Gridwise plus, it would accurately auto track my miles. The first day went well and worked as it should. Now, it either doesn't want to auto track at all or wants to auto track and not stop at all even though it's set to stop after 3 minutes of not moving.

*update*... Doordash is no longer syncing. Opened support tickets several times and can't get any help or answers. "We are aware of the issue and working hard to resolve it". It's been going on for about a month now and all my earnings for the year have been erased. *Original review*...Great App, easy to use. Keeps track of your mileage and earnings all in one place. Let's you know when to drive for maximized earnings!

In my opinion: Misleading advertising. It does not track exact pickup and drop off locations. It only tracks mileage travelled from the time you start a shift, to the end. It's a mileage tracker that makes vague airport traffic predictions and tracks earnings across apps. There are free apps out there that provide the same functionality and more. Not enough value to support a $10 subscription. I also have questions/concerns related to their data collection practices and use. Zero trust.

The app is useful, compared to other milage trackers, because it automatically syncs your earnings, and calculates your earnings per hour and per mile. However the "where to drive" section might not be useful to you, depending on your location. Also, it drains the battery way too much, even in the background. If you use this app, make sure to disable it on your days off. Especially if you're driving around a lot.

App is not precise. It crashes then when I relaunch it adds about 100 miles to my mileage everytime. I just found another discrepancy with earnings. It sometimes shows more then I actually earn. I've used this app for a couple months but I am moving on. I was hoping an update would fix these issues, but I'm getting impatient. I will find another app, this one is unreliable if you care about being honest with your mileage.

Doesn't do much besides advertise. Earnings shown are not accurate. Doesn't count tips apparently. Said I had a $20 deduction on my taxes from mileage in one shift. Hard to believe. Mostly it wants you to sign up for their pro or their gas Buddy style app or many many other things you can pay for. Rather disappointed I was looking forward to something like this. Just one that actually does what it should.

The app is great until it starts guzzling my data. It will use about 20Mb a day for the first couple weeks and then out of nowhere it will start using almost 1GB a day. I uninstall it and reinstall it and it fixes it. This is my 3rd time reinstalling it because I don't want to have to keep track of miles in two apps when taxes come around. I talked to support and they had no idea what was going on. Other than that it is great. If you don't have unlimited data use Stride or Everlance.

Ride share drivers, be aware! If you are driving to make money, then you most likely work with one of the gigeconomy platforms at least. Tracking millage and expenses is one of the most important tasks in this business and you don't want to risk the results. There are apps free and paid with reliable functionality and it's really not that hard to find one (Stride as a free app & Self employed from QuickBooks as a paid one). This app is super buggy and a newcomer. Be wise!

Do NOT use this app to track mileage for gig work. Use it as a backup maybe, but as a first source it doesn't even have a field with which you can enter your odometer reading, so if you get audited you're screwed. You could have your mileage deduction disallowed and pay dearly for it. That and the GPS tracking often fails and shows a straight line, so you aren't tracked accurately. It's a mess. Other features are good, but it really needs a workover. It's high potential value, but needs work.

I have very mixed opinions on this. I think the best reason to pay for the subscription would be for the dollar benefits, but that's really it. The insights tab does way too much grouping for me to make shorter-term decisions, so I would have to do a substantial amount of interpretation and hypothesis testing to get a very rough idea of what to expect for my drive. If I had the ability to view when to drive on a per-hour basis, or have another way to view data that is more "raw", I'd be good.

This app is probably pretty good...IF you are in an area where it has full functionality. All it can do for me is add my total earnings between apps and my mileage...all of which I was doing on my own anyway, and with greater accuracy. Further, this app isn't even matching my earnings with my Uber account, so its throwing off the numbers even more. Like I said, probably pretty good if it's in an area with full functionality. It doesn't give me weather reports, doesn't provide data on airports..

It's been great for me so far this past year as my main source for mileage tracking, which is crucial to me (being a contracted/SE Driver). I've just been using the basic free version, so my only complaint is that I'd want access to things like, Auto-tracking, etc. that comes in the paid version. So not much of a complaint, I just need to upgrade at some point! 😂 I also think adding something like, Gas/fuel purchase tracking would be incredibly helpful (IF it's not already in the paid version).

Automatic Mileage Tracker Does NOT WORK! It used to work and after I logged all of my miles as business or personal they ALL disappeared. So all that tracking for over a couple years is lost???? That's rediculous. Now it just does nothing for mileage. Paying for the Plus package is NOT worth it if it can't even track mileage automatically. How do you contact tech support??

Uninstalled this app multiple times because of the notification overlay that is always present. This is not a navigation app, nor is it essential for me to work. There is no reason for it to overlay. It's incredibly annoying when you're working several apps and constantly swiping away notifications but can't swipe away gridwise away because it's always there for no reason. When I'm driving and doing deliveries, I need it to be as quick and easy as possible to use my phone in the moment.

App is nice in theory. Would be much better if it actually worked as advertised. The auto mileage tracker is spotty at best. It tracks some drives but misses far to many to be relied upon. The auto sync earnings is about the same. Works most of the time but then will miss a few days before it starts tracking again. There is no customer support and the only way to enter manually is to turn off the auto sync. Not bad for manual operation but dont pay for plus. The auto tracking does not work.
