This is a great app if you are into the news. It's been one of the best news hub in the form of the app that I have ever found. I even paid for the yearly subscription on their high tier plan but unfortunately in just a few days, I deeply regretted my act. It's due to the serious security issues. This app opens the gate to countless trackers and ads when you like to access the source of the news you are interested in reading. And if you know how to block those issues, you get nothing. Two stars.

I really wanted to like this app, as it appeared to have priorities straight. However, the privacy is a major concern with this app. A tracking blocking software reports that within just 10mins of use over 10,000 tracking attempts were blocked and this app feeds 70! companies that collect personal information from within my device: birthdate, GPS location, gender, email, first name, cookies etc. That is unacceptable, especially for a subscription based service.

Does not work well with dark mode. It used to, but one of the more recent updates must have broken it. I used to pay for premium, but don't anymore. I think, other than a few minor annoyances removed, premium doesn't get you much. You still have pay walls from individual sources blocking access. The most useful thing is that you can see who has covered the topic, and then it's often better to open the source of your choice in your browser, because reading in the app can have issues.

I have set my notification preferences three times and the app is still trying to have me turn on notifications. If I can change it anytime in the settings, then stop nagging me. If I want notifications, I'll enable them. I don't. As for everything else, most things appear to be locked behind a paywall and the "news" is just snippet text. At that point, just show the headline only if we have to click through anyway.

It's a great service. The app could use a little improvement. My main issue is when reading articles in the built-in browser, there's no way to properly go back if I click a link in the article. The links work and will go to the right page, but using the back button/gesture exits the article back to the story summary, making me have to find the article again and reload it (the browser is a bit slow at loading). A little tedious in those cases. But overall good app and insightful service!

Seems pretty cool so far; it does what the YouTube pitchers promise. But I don't like how it uses, as many apps do these days, an embedded browser instead of the one I set as default in my device's settings. Yes, you can click an icon in the upper right of an article and it will then send you to your preferred browser, but this requires you to first load the article in the embedded browser. I'd like the ability to have all links skip the embedded browser and jump straight to my preference.

Subscibed. Potentially very interesting and valuable approach to the news, but app is NOT easy to navigate. A bigger problem is that they keep losing my paid subscription. I paid for a year but benefits only last a few weeks, app keeps asking me to subscribe and downgrades my account. Customer services corrected this the first time but don't even respond now. The 'restore subscription' button doesn't work. Waste of money.

My favorite news app, good for keeping things clear as things continue to go sideways here in the US. If I could make a request to the team though: it would be nice if we could set more than one location for "local" news. I'm a college student studying far from home, and it would be nice to be able to set a couple of different locations as "local" for that purpose.

Watched a YouTube ad and then went through the sign-up process before anything was mentioned about a paid subscription to unlock all the features. It's in the fine print, but they definitely try to trick people into downloading the app before discovering it. If they were honest up front and offered a free trial, I may have subscribed. It's actually a decent app. However, tricking people just like the media companies they are exposing is a dirty trick. For that reason alone, it deserves 0 stars.

Exceptionally valuable, I use a few different new apps, but ground news is my favorite. It gives me articles I might miss, I can read right, left, and center articles to determine what is fact, what is opinion, and and shouldn't even be considered. The small subscription fee is underselling it, but I am glad for the costs to deliver such a great service.
