I originally rated this app 5 stars. Within the last month or two, however, the app is prone to frequent crashes, it is slow as all hell to load, and does not push notifications despite being set to do so. Images won't search or post, and I have random issues with sending and receiving messages. I really hope they roll out a new update soon, because this app has become incredibly poor.

Groupme has been a useful tool for communication since I've been a college student. It's interface is user-friendly and very intuitve for anyone that is familiar with group chats. For simple chitchat and coordination, I cannot think of a better app. However, this app does have limited functions that make large groups (100+) hard to manage and interact with. I would not use this app for any serious large event planning nor to manage various groups. It's a great app but keep expectations low.

While easy to use, the app takes a long time to load and doesn't properly notify me when there are new posts. There have been upwards of 28 notifications I missed throughout the day but didn't know about it because the app failed to indicate I had unread messages. Update: The notifications issue seems to have been improved. While I still occasionally don't get notifications, it's much better than before.

I have only one issue with this app. It only lets to you send videos if they're 30 seconds or less. They do provide good accommodations for this. You can select which portion of a longer video to send. It would be nice if we could just do any length though. Other than that it is a brilliant program. We never have issues of people not receiving messages. It lets you schedule events very easily. You can take polls. It covers mostly everything you'd want from a group conversation app.

Simple app that does the job well. Very useful to have groups and teams separate from messages to individuals. While the service works fine, the app could use a little extra design polish. Animations, iconography, and dark themes have come a long way in the last few years. Adding some improvements there would go a long way — just keep the dark theme gray, not black.

For the most part the app is great for what it's supposed to be. Hard to complain about something that's so simple. The only real problem I have is when it comes 2 adding people 2 groups. There's a constant error message that comes up when I try to add someone to a group, telling me that, "person X could not be added to the group." There will be no explanation as 2 why, but then when u go to check the memebers, it adds the person 2 the group during half the time it's telling you that it can't.

Very buggy, for many years. Just a few examples: - Reactions don't refresh while in chat, must leave chat to see updates - Links jump all up & down the page, giving the impression they were sent by other people - If I click on a pop-up notification immediately after I received it, it pops up again a few seconds later, and repeats until I let it sit for a minute or 2. - Messages often say failed to send, so I try again, and it shows up twice. So many more examples, ran out of available characters

This app is so glitchy on android phones. 1.) my profile photo has been updated several times, but it still shows up as the one I had about a year (maybe even longer) ago. 2.) loading the emojis does not work at all, at least recently, with wifi or data. 3.) when i click on other's profile pictures to view them larger, it again shows me their older profile pic from who knows when, not the current one. 4.) changing your phone number is awful. You get kicked out of your groups. + Much more

When it works it's great, when it doesn't it sucks! I couldn't get notifications, so I uninstalled the app. BIG MISTAKE! When I log back in, none of my current groups show up. I can't search for them, they're not under hidden or archived. It's a good thing I am logged in on my work iphone otherwise I would not be able to access important conversations. Disappointing after years of using this app.

This seems like a good free option for group messaging. I have two major complaints: 1) it's super frustrating that read status doesn't sync across devices. So if I read messages on my phone, I have to go to my tablet and open all the same messages to get the unread bubbles to go away. As a result, I often either think there are no new messages when there are or I open it thinking there are new messages but I already saw them on another device. 2) it takes too many clicks to get where I want.
