This app has been a huge waste of time. It adds things to the"planted" list on its own. The harvesting schedule is way off on some vegetables. Very basic information. Just get gardening books, talk to locals at farmers markets, and watch videos on yt.
Reviews for GrowIt: Vegetable Garden Care
← Back to GrowIt: Vegetable Garden Carethis app repeatedly sends me reminder notifications, but when I open the app it says there has been a problem and I have no plants, no garden and no tasks/reminders. Its frustrating to pay for a service that doesn't function the majority of the time.
this is not free in order to sign up for this app once after you download it you have to choose either the 7-Day free trial or the actual subscription so if you forget about it then you end up being charged the subscription I don't like options like that
"watch out for frost" is part of the June checklist. I updated the app with my location (zone 9) but none of the guidance changed. I have the impression that the guidance is the same for everyone which is not what I'm looking for. It's extremely hot and dry where I live, zero chance of frost right now. The app should reflect that but it doesn't. Just generic guidance that I don't trust. Not sure how useful this app is for me in the long run.
Free Trial, then you have to pay monthly or yearly fee. I wish that they would tell you prior to installing the app.
Works great! Good programming. If you already have planted, you just scan your plants and it identifies them then reminds you when and how much to water and fertilize.
Best advice, plant identifier and reminder system I have come across. If I could give this app 10 stars I would. This app turns you into a vegetable farmer as well as a professional gardener with a beautiful garden with ease. Highly recommend.
Weather in app is buggy. It will show rain and sometimes not count it for the day as a watering. So I still have to go back and check the boxes.
I love this app. Normally, I struggle with apps and other media interactions, GrowIt allows me to manage my garden with ease. Cromprehensive, informative, inspirational, and old person friendly. Thankks!
have not seen any planners as advertised, which is what I really wanted. a way to plan out my sf garden and see what companion plants, etc I should place. it's basically useless to me, but THEY GOT ME bc I forgot to cancel before the end of my trial. lesson learned I guess.
works great for reminding you to water an fertilize but the diagnostic part not so much. Alot of times I get no connection please try again later and it doesn't matter if I'm connected to Wi-Fi or my cell service i more times than not get the same message.
I signed up for their trial and realized right away that it was not for me, so I cancelled and uninstalled the app. However 30 days later, I get a charge for a full year 39.99. I've tried requesting a refund via the email they have listed but they have never gotten back to me. It's a scam, don't do it
I just downloaded the app and was exploring it, and when i pressed the option to start a free 7 days trial, they charged me when they were, in fact, supposed to charge after 7 days when the free trial ends. Apart from that, everything looks great, and I am excited to start my gardening journey.
I have just started using this app, for free. So far, it seems to have a lot of good, helpful info. There were > 40 fruits, vegetables, herbs, etc. to choose from the list. You can add them to your favorites / planning list. There is also a search option; for more plants. I searched avocado. There was a huge amount of information about it including which kind of avocado do you have, what stage is the plant at now, when did you plant it, water it last, etc. So far, very helpful.
Very good planner with fairly accurate information and easy to understand breakdowns of most any plant you can think of. Missing some quality of life stuff, like being able to choose Celcius or Fahrenheit. the scanner falls very short tho, it will likely fail to identify or diagnose any issues. Aside from that, this is a solid app. There are some pay features. They're completely optional, and to be fair, it's only five bucks, so if it's helpful, why not help the devs.
Only a week free, you have to sign up for a trial before the app even opens to show you what it's like. No thanks. Gonna try a different one. *edit after developer reply- The app won't open a free version unless you put in cc numbers. So it's not a free version, is it? Give us a free version we can actually open and use WITHOUT cc numbers. What you have is a free trial. edit again - I went to just see if I could find this fictitious free version and now app won't even open.
Honestly it's trash. I don't normally write reviews if the app is bad, but this is so terrible I had to say something!!! Definitely don't pay for this. Most of the vegetables have either missing or entirely wrong information, so the growing and harvesting calandars are messed up. The "weather is supposed to count as a watering" option doesn't work at all. The watering times reminders are all wrong and mixed up. You can't go into the plant information or settings and change them.
I paid for this app thinking I would get detailed info, personalized tips and help for the veggies I'm growing, but you get VERY little, basic, summarized info and there are honestly no features that make me want to come back to the app. You get generic water/fertilize reminders, and those are the most helpful tools I've observed. Googling has given me more answers, more than 1 generic photo of the plant, and it's free. Big disappointment.
I really like a lot of the features in this app, but I wrote in some suggestions I hope will be taken seriously, then I would gladly update to 5 stars. There is no option to add my own notes to plants in my garden or to archive a garden or plant from a previous year so I just have to delete and re-ad the next year. I also cannot add my own varieties or edit the growth timeline so sometimes the timeline is not correct for my variety. It would also be great if there was a way to map out my garden.
Good during trial! Not good after subscribing! I was getting constant reminder notifications during trial but not after purchasing. Also, it takes several times to get the app to open, always trying to reconnect. I was hoping this would be the right app for me. It would be, if you can get it to open and actually use it, if notifications worked and I didn't lose money.
